West Virginia, Mississippi, Trump, A Partial List, Lynching Confederate Statues, NC "For Public Safety"
JUNE 21, 2020
** West Virginia, born out of the Civil War, grapples with Confederate monuments.
** Mississippi bishop joins call for removal of Confederate flag from state's flag. (Episcopalian)
** Protesters fell Confederate monument in DC, provoking Trump's fury.
** Confederate statues are coming down following George Floyd's death. here's what we know. (A list of downed Confederate statues in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Richmond, Louisville, Jacksonville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Alexandria, Nashville, Mobile, Frankfort, Decatur, Raleigh, Washington DC, and Bristol, England. (A whole bunch of cities now on my boycott list for awhile until I forgive them. I have written about most of these removals in this blog.)
** NC protesters hang Confederate statue from post. (Isn't the noose something white supremacists use?)
** Wrapped up in the Confederate flag (Washington Post. It has to be a negative article.)
** Confederate group dressed in rebel flag garb confronts protesters at Gulfport monument. (Mississippi. There have been very, very few anti rioters protests. This, fortunately sounds like it was fairly peaceful considering that those who want the statues down are somewhat violent and hateful.)
** Gulfport, Mississippi City Council voted unanimously to remove the state flag.
** NC governor on Twitter announces removal of all Confederate statues on Capitol grounds for "public safety." (Before Floyd, I would have been very upset, but now, since the various governments and police will not protect them from the BLMers and their white minions, I am for the removal of all Confederate monuments in public places everywhere.)
