Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

The Second Civil War: Confederate Flag Defenders Must Be Really Bad Folks

JULY 16, 2022

**  Youngkin appoints Confederate statue defender to historic resources board.  (Washington Post of course.  Supporting statues is not a federal crime.  Youngkin is governor of Virginia.))

**  Tragic comedy:  Film focuses on fight to remove Confederate statues.  (SPLC.  Whose side do you thing they'll be on?)

****************************

JULY 17, 2022

**  CAIR calls on Va. governor to rescind appointment of Confederate statue defender to Historic Resources Board.  (Council on American-Islamic Relations.  And, you'd have to think Islamic people have their own problems to be getting involved with Confederates.)

**  Warner Bros. stops production on Confederate  flag-topped "Dukes of Hazzard" merchandise.  (Guess why?  It's getting pretty thick in here now.)

Hey Media, Confederate Is a Proper Name and Needs to Be Capitalized

SEPTEMBER 2, 2021

**   Opinion:  Get Confederate  symbols off  Virginia school campuses.    (Daily Press, Virginia)

**  Statue of Confederate  Gen. Robert E. Lee in Virginia's capital  can be removed, court rules.  (Virginia's Supreme Court.  Can you imagine a governing body in Virginia being anti-Confederate?)

**  Cost a concern for moving Confederate memorial.  (Augusta, Georgia.  Just have the people who want it removed pay for all costs.  Put your money where your mouth is.)

**  Demonstrators  call Mayor Curry a 'liar' after failure to remove c(C)onfederate monuments.   (Jacksonville, Florida.  First Coast ABC News.  Something about a proper name, guys.)

**  The 'Dukes of Hazzard' c(C)onfederate flag car damaged by Hurricane Ida.  (NME.  Proper name.  Did BLM have something to do with the hurricane?)

I'm beginning to think Blacks must be demanding that Confederate stop being a proper name and thusly capitalized like they did to get black when used as an adjective capitalized.  Which of these terms might be considered racist?:  The Black man,  The white man.  Is this racist?

Actually, most media seems to have a grasp on the proper name thing, but there are some with no idea.

Confederadication: Florida, West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, Maryland, Blues and Black Confederates

MARCH 18, 2021

**  Mary McLeod Bethune statue could come to a museum  embroiled in Confederate controversy. (Lake County, Florida)

**  Public  hearing on Confederate  monuments bill draws 19 opponents, no supporters.  (West Virginia.  Bill to protect Confederate monuments.)

**  Tennessee GOP has a 'cancel culture' freakout over removal of KKK founder's bust--  proposes firing entire historical commission.

MARCH 19, 2021

**  Alabama attorney journal  asks courts for quick win in Madison County Confederate monument  lawsuit.

**  Maryland's  pro-Confederate state song  is close to being ditched, after repeated tries.

**  Kenny Wayne Shepherd's blues award nomination rescinded  over Confederate flag use.  (He had a "Dukes of Hazzard" General Lee car with the you-know-what on the roof.  Well, there was the name as well.  So, what does that have to do with the blues?  Gosh.)

**  Local group to explore  "Black Confederates" claim.

UDC, 'Dukes of Hazzard', Catholics, Second Civil War, Hate Crimes-Not Vandalism

 SEPTEMBER 26, 2020

**  Confederate monument removal advocates in newspaper ad call for public meeting with UDC.  (Calloway County, Kentucky)

**  How 'The General Lee' was left in the Democratic Party's dust.  (Very interesting video about former Democratic Rep. Ben L. Jones.  He also played the role of Cooter Jones on the hit TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard.")

**  Catholics journey across Hampton Roads landmarks to highlight racial inequality.  (Virginia)

**  NYT's Friedman":  'I'm terrified' to find myself covering  America's potential  Second Civil War.  (I'm more than a bit worried about this becoming a bloody Civil War myself.)

*********************************

SEPTEMBER 27, 2020

** Confederate monument in Forsyth Park vandalized.  (Savannah, Georgia.  Again, that is a hate crime, not simple vandalism.  What would it be called if something similar was done to a Martin Luther King Jr. statue?)

**  St. Augustine Confederate monument vandalized overnight.  (Florida)

**  Rewatching 'The Civil War'  during the Breonna Taylor and George Floyd protests.    (Ken Burns PBS series.)

**  Protesters call for end to racism during 'March on Graham.'  (Graham, North Carolina)

Some Resistance to Confederadication Starting to Come Into Play, Arlington National Cemetery, Gettysburg and the "Dukes"

JULY 6, 2020

**  At Arlington Cemetery, a Confederate monument to the South and slavery still stands.  (Washington Post.  And guess what the Post wants done to it.  However, I don't recommend BLM and their white minions go there to desecrate it.  It would be bad for them.)

**  Crowd rallies to keep Confederate memorial in St. Augustine.  (Florida.  It is nice to see an occasional objection to the drive to take down everything Confederate.  They were peaceful and no attempt was made at "vandalizing" any nearby statues or markers that Blacks might hold dear. In other words, no TOPPLINGS, graffiti or swear words.  No hate crime committed here.)

**  Local activists take credit  for toppling Confederate monument.  (Seattle, Washington.  Erected by UDC in 1926.  It has been repeatedly "vandalized" and defaced in recent years.  Track these people down and arrest them.  But, wait, this is in Seattle where the mayor let the "activists" take over a part of his city.  I kind of doubt anything is going to happen to these persons who committed a hate crime.

**  The world's largest Confederate monument carved into Georgia rock face is fielding new calls for removal.  (Stone Mountain, Georgia.  Again, I am hoping authorities put it under strict guard before BLM and their white minions blow it up.)

**  Historians  assess 'troubling ' Confederate monuments at Gettysburg.  (A "historian" would not favor taking down those monuments.  Perhaps if they are BLMers or their white minions they would.)

**  Volo Auto Museum  meanin' no harm with Confederate flag car.  (Volo, Illinois.  About seven miles from us.  Believe it or not, there are people who want it out of there because of the you-know-what on the roof of it.)

**  NC group angered by removal  of statues  hangs giant Confederate flag.

**  Gettysburg reckons with Confederate symbols.  (After all the statues are gone from public places, BLM and the NAACP will be starting on Confederate monuments in Civil War battlefields.)

It Is Nice to Finally Start Seeing Some Resistance to This New Black Tryanny.  --Old Secesh

Now, the "Dukes of Hazzard" Car, Fort Hobby?, Fort Bragg, Trump and Mississippi Flag Change

JULY 5, 2020

**  Museum:  'Dukes of Hazzard' car with Confederate flag will stay.  (Volo Auto Museum, Volo, Illinois.  You know who wanted it gone.  Really, what they got 'gainst Bo, Luke and Daisy?

**  Confederate signs still on graves as history is re-examined.

**  Reader suggests renaming Fort Hood for Ovetta Culb Hobby.  (She was a white woman and first director of U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.  This could be a good name for the renamed base if it comes to that.)

**  Fort Bragg commission to tackle name change issue, systemic racism.

**  Dem senator says Trump would be 'abandoning the troops' if he vetoes Defense spending bill.

**  About race and erasure:  How America should sort through complicated questions about monuments and men.  (New York Daily News.  Interesting take on the situation.)

**  Analysis:  Ex-Rep Henry set path to Mississippi flag change.

Did Bubba Watson Remove the General Lee's Confederate Flag?-- Part 2

You've just got to love the name Bubba in this article.  Seems fitting, right Cooter?

Three years later, during the widespread drive to remove all things Confederate, Bubba Watson tweeted:  "All men are created equal, I believe that so will be  be painting the American flag  over the roof of the  General Lee #USA."

The Volo Auto Museum in Lake County, Illinois, out close to me, which owns the only other surviving Georgia General Lee, quickly offered to buy Watson's car, but he never replied.

But, no one has ever seen whether Mr. Watson made good on his promise.  John Schneider doesn''t think he did.

While the current value of the car is not known, classic car experts say that removing the Confederate flag would have a negative impact on the car's value.

Well, then there is the problem with the car's name.

John Schneider Doesn't Think Bubba Watson Took Confederate Flag Off His General Lee-- Part 1

From Oct. 31, 2019, Fox News by Gary Gastelu.

John Schneider played Bo Duke on the TV show "Dukes of Hazzard" and says he doubts that golfer Bubba Watson  lived up to his promise to remove the Confederate flag from the iconic Dodge Charger  "General Lee" that they drove.  Supposedly he was to replace it with a U.S. flag.

Watson bought the fully restored car in 2012 for $121,000.  This is the actual General Lee that was shown jumping over a police car in the show's opening credits.  It was designated as  "Lee 1" by the production team, and later repainted and reused in a different role then sent to a Georgia junkyard where it was rediscovered twenty years later.

Hundreds of stunt cars were used during the show's seven-year run, but Watson's is one of only two known to have survived the  from the Georgia shoots before production was moved to California.

Watson is a long-time fan of the show and drove it often in public but the Confederate flag painted on its roof became an issue when NASCAR canceled a scheduled parade lap by the car before the Phoenix race that year.

Really, NASCAR, the General Lee?
