Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

Why Would Islamic People Weigh In on This Confederate Thing? Virginia

JUNE 29, 2022

**  CAIR supports dropping Confederate names from Va. county district.  (That would be the Council on American-Islamic Relations.  And, you'd think they have enough of their own problems with their terrorists.  No Confederate ever cut someone's head off on TV or crashed a plane with innocent people into a building with more innocent people in it.)

**  Fairfax could rename Lee Highway, other roads due to Confederate ties.  (Virginia)

**  Controversial  Confederate museum opened quietly  in Columbia during  pandemic.   (Columbia, Tennessee.  Sons of Confederate Veterans.  They did it just to bug the SPLC, BLM and NAACP.)

**  West Badin residents want street names linked to the Confederacy renamed.

**  Fairfax City adopts  new seal minus Confederate soldier, British Lord.  (Virginia.  Lord Fairfax.)

How Do You Tote a Confederate Flag? The Wildman Striketh Back

JUNE 16, 2022

**  Judge convicts man who carried Confederate flag in Capitol attack.  (Lots and lots of srticles about this. I think that really bothered some folks.  He was convicted of obstruction, entering a restricted building,  disorderly conduct and  unlawful parading.  I wonder if it would have been unlawful parading had he been carrying a BLM flag?

**  (He was quite often referred to as the Confederate flag-toting man.  I wonder how you tote a flag?  His son was also convicted.  He should never have been in the Capitol under those circumstances anyway so am glad he was convicted.)

**  Georgia councilman resigns after controversial  Confederate store reopens.  (Kennesaw, Georgia.  Wildmans's Civil War Surplus store reopens after his death.)

Let the People Vote on Statue Removal

APRIL 8, 2022

**  Opinions divided on Confederate statue in Lewisburg.  (West Virginia)

**  Jacksonville city councilman wants voters to decide on removal of Confederate monuments.  (Florida.  This is the correct way to determine removal.  Let the people vote, not some spineless elected officials.  But, Blacks will have to know that if they don't get their way they have to live with it.)

**  Protest being planned in response to Confederate Memorial Day event.  (Stone Mountain, Georgia.  Be careful now of rioting and looting.)

**  Commission:  Fort Belvoir building, three roads may need to be renamed.

**  From Lee  Circle to Harmony Circle?  New Orleans City Council takes first step to renaming street.

A Cost to Renaming Roads and Streets

From the February 18, 2022, Fairfax County Times (Virginia)  "Highway name changes in Fairfax County could come with hefty  price tag" by Sravan Gannavarapu.

In December the Confederate Names Task Force voted to rename the Lee Highway and Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway.

Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity said the cost for renaming these could come between $1-4 million due to significant fiscal impacts and customer impacts on businesses and residents.

And, then there is the cost of making new signs, taking the old ones down and putting up the new ones.

It was noted that recently  Wade Hampton Drive in Vienna had its name changed to Liberty  Lane.  As a result, each of the town's property owners  will receive $500 for out-of-pocket costs associated with the name change.

***********************

Personally, I would like to see name changes put up to a vote.  If the majority of the people want the name changed, then change it.  But, have the cost of changing the name go to those who voted to change it.

Does Every Replaced Statue and Renamed Road Have to Be of Black People?

JANUARY 10, 2022

**  Tapper:  Confederate statues in Congress are 'Tributes to traitors,' honors 'Political Violence.'  (Jake Tapper is a CNN anchor.)

*********************************

JANUARY 11, 2022

**  The Jan. 6  insurrectionists begging for pardons sound  an awful lot like Confederate soldiers.

**  Journalist finds 'astounding' similarities between MAGA rioters and defeated Confederate soldiers.

**  Statue of Mary McLeod Bethune  to replace Confederate general at US Capitol.  (A worthy move, especially since Confederate General Kirby Smith really didn't have that much to do with Florida.  I just fear that every single one of the statues to be replaced in the Capitol will be a black person.)

**  New Orleans  City Council votes to rename Robert E. Lee  Blvd after musician Allen Toussaint.  (Again, an acceptable renaming, but do all roads and streets renamed have to be of black people?)

I'm in favor of some of them being named for Blacks, but definitely not all of them.

That Really UGLY Forrest Statue in Tennessee, Renaming Roads in Virginia, a Noose and Flag and Michigan

DECEMBER 9, 2021

**  Owners explain why  they removed statue of Confederate  general from Tennessee interstate.  (Near Nashville. Nathan Bedford Forrest.   It was ugly (which it was) and too much "vandalism.'  But we know that is a cover word used for "hate crime.")

**  'It's the right thing to do':   Loudoun County approves new names for Routes 7 and 50.  (Virginia.  Route 7 is Harry Byrd Highway and Route 50 is John Mosby Highway.  I am sure they will have to be renamed for black people.)

*****************************

DECEMBER 10, 2021

**  Hot market for toppled Confederate statues.

**  Noose, Confederate flag found hanging from utility line near Knotts Island.  (Currituck County, NC.)

**  Township rejected Black Lives Matter on bricks near controversial  Confederate statue, lawsuit says.  (Michigan.  If a Confederate statue is offensive, so is BLM.)

DECEMBER 1, 2021

**  Confederate heritage group fights  lawsuit to remove Tuskegee Confederate monument.  (Tuskegee, Alabama.  United Daughters of the Confederacy.)

**  Task force to recommend name changes for two Fairfax highways named for Confederates.  (Fairfax County, Virginia.  Hard to believe this could be happening in Virginia.)

**  No more flags as capes:  Flag-wearing  frenzy leads to ban at Camino Real Middle School.  (New Mexico.  Students were wearing flags as capes (including gay and transgender ones) until someone wore a Confederate flag cape.  Then, guess what.)

The USS Confederacy, Georgia Colleges, Black Confederates? No Confederate Flags in Christmas Parade

NOVEMBER 22, 2021

**  Historically Speaking:  Norwich's U.S. Navy frigate, the USS Confederacy.  (Imagine a ship with this name in the U.S. Navy, but it really was. Hopefully we won't have to go back into the past and change the name because it offends certain people.)

**  Georgia regents:  No college name  changes over racial history.  (A list of 75 names of buildings named after people involved with slavery, segregation or mistreatment of Indians.)

**  Confederate monuments to stay in place in Bastrop until relocation plan finalized.  (Texas)

**  Next step for Confederate names task force.  (Virginia.  You know, removing the names and renaming them for Blacks.)

**  Confederate,  segregationist road names  to be removed in Loudon.  (Virginia)

*********************************

NOVEMBER 11, 2021

**  Confederate monument will stay in Florida park for now.  (Jacksonville, Florida)

**  Jacksonville  Council wimps out:  Confederate monument to stay.  (Florida Times-Union)

**  Raucous crowd removed from Council meeting over removal of Confederate tribute statue.  (Jacksonville.  The Blacks want the monument gone, but so far this year 95 people in Jacksonville have been murdered, mostly  Blacks.  I would think that was a bigger issue than an old statue.)

**  Hometown History:  Fort Gordon.  (Georgia.  Fort Gordon had quite a World War II history.)

**  Broward exhibit  shows how Confederate money reinforced slavery.  (Florida)

NOVEMBER 5, 2021

**  'Confederate ' leftists:  rewriting  history for the Marxist Lost cause.  (The Hill.  What?)

**  City Council (tentatively) plans to decide the fate of Charlottesville's Confederate statues before year's end.  (Virginia.  They will also be looking to the future of the Sacagawea and Lewis & Clark statue.  Let's hope they won't be foolish enough to go with the black museum's request to melt the Lee statue down and turn it into another statue (probably touting the black experience)

**  Resident  seeks relocation of Confederate monument.  (Georgia)

**  Howard W. French column:  As Confederate monuments fall, build monuments to black heroes at risk of being forgotten.  (Agreed.  All persons involved in heroic deeds should be remembered.  But, how about leaving the Confederate statues up and adding ones for Blacks?)

**  Loudon to rename  Jeb Stuart, Ft. Johnston Roads.  (Virginia.  Just don't rename them for Blacks.)

**  Lawmakers likely to vote on Dixie State (University) name change next week.  (Utah.  It would become Utah Technical University.  At least it will not be named for a black person.  But, I have a better suggestion for a new name.  How about Woke State University?)

**  For second time, Pasquotank commissioners approve  funding for contractor to remove Confederate monument. **  Memory and memorials:  Yale scholar's work influences removal of Lee statue.  Yale?)

**  Motion to revive Confederate  monument lawsuit to be discussed in Friday hearing.  (Huntsville, Alabama)

**  Vance High School officially renamed; other Confederate names to be changed in Charlotte. (North Carolina.  It will now be the Julius J. Chambers High School.  Again, Chambers is a worthy man, but why do all Confederate name changes have to be renamed for Blacks?)

**  Christiansburg approves tribute to African American history to be installed near Confederate  monument.  (Virginia.  Always room for another historical monument.)

What Are They Going To Do When All the MLK Roads Need to Be Renamed? Once a Neo, Always a Neo.

MARCH 12, 2021

**  Texas distorts its past -- and Sam Houston's legacy --  to defend Confederate monuments.

**  Lots more road renaming needs to be done.  (What are they going to do when all those Martin Luther King Jr Roads will be needing renaming?   After all, he was not without certain faults that offend.  All this can go two ways, you know.)

**  Florida's Neo-Confederate Republicans intend to stifle voter  turnout.  (Love it when they use Neo, as in Neo-Nazi.  But, the funny thing is that BLM is actually more of a Neo-Nazi group, see Brown Shirts, than most anything else.)

**  NC community has mixed emotions about the move of Confederate monument to neighborhood.  (Chicord, N.C.)

**  Local officials weigh in on potential sites for Confederate marker.  (Bowling Green, Ky.)

States of Embarrassment. Come on, SPLC, How About That List of BLM 'Peaceful Demonstrations' That Led to Violence, Rioting, Looting and Burning (Not to Mention Hate Crimes)!!!

FEBRUARY 27, 2021

**  Ban on Confederate flag urged in Northampton schools.  (Massachusetts.   The black principal was shown holding a BLM sign.  Does that mean he supports rioting, burning, looting and hate crimes?)

**  Alabama ranks third in nation for number of Confederate symbols removed in 2020.  (That has to be embarrassing.  Again, the racist group SPLC has the numbers and says that  12 were removed.  In case you're wondering, Sad V. led the pack with 71 thanks to their sad gov and mayor.    N.C. was second with 24.  The states of embarrassment.)

Renaming Those Roads in Va. Statues Removed and Changed

JANUARY 14, 2021

**  Plan underway to rename three roads with Confederate ties.  (Montgomery County, Maryland.  Jubal Early Court, J.E.B. Stuart Road and J.E.B. Stuart Court.)

**  Northampton County votes to remove Confederate monument.  (Virginia, of course.  This was not a vote by the people, but by the Board of Supervisors.  They probably knew that if they put it up for a public vote, they'd lose.  One of these days, hopefully, politicians will grow a backbone.)

**  Proposal would replace a Confederate statue with John Lewis.  (Georgia's statue at the Capitol.  John Lewis was a black Congressman, Civil Rights proponent who served for  33 years and died in 2020.  I could agree with this change (Alexander Stephens is the one there now).  However, I hope not every Confederate statue removed from there will be replaced by a black person.)

**  Walton County supervisors silent on Confederate flag and monument.  (Florida)

**  Confederate statues falling after George Floyd killing.

**  Parrott:  Keep John Mosby's name on Route 50 in Loudoun.  (Virginia)

******************************

DECEMBER 23, 2020

**  Rally planned over Putnam County Confederate statue removal.  (Florida.  Demanding it be relocated.  Commission has already voted 4-1 to remove it.  Impatient little cusses, ain't they?)

**  VA (Veterans Administration) has no plans to rename hospital that honors Confederate.  (Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond.  Will the last Confederate out of Sad R. please turn out the lights.  We can't get all things Confederate out of that town fast enough.  And, please take down the disgrace that you have allowed to take place at the Lee Statue.)

**  Decision to remove NCFL (North Central Florida) Confederate monument frustrates both sides.  (Palatka, Putnam County.  It has already been decided that the statue will be removed, but the stipulation that BLMers don't like is that those who want it removed must come up with $200,000 privately raised funds to do so.  Hey, you want it removed, YOU PAY FOR IT.  Cut and simple.

Like the one lady said, "Either ante up or shut up."   Agreed.
