Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

I Will Be Skipping Ahead to Attacks on the Confederacy to October 8th

I am running so far behind on these attacks that I will skip ahead to October 8th and once I get caught up to the current dates, will go back and add in the ones I have skipped.

That Virginia State Senator's $300,000 Reward for Committing a Hate Crime. An Infamous Statue? A Second Civil War?

JANUARY 8, 2022

**  Sen. Lucas says she'll donate $300K Confederate monument settlement to charity.  (Remember her.  She is the black Virginia state senator from Portsmouth, Virginia, who incited the crowd to commit hate crimes on the Confederate statue.  She was arrested for it (her crime) and sued the city and police chief for it and the city gave in and awarded her $300,000.  How about that, You Too Can Get Paid to Commit a Hate Crime.  At least she is not keeping the ill-gotten money.)

**  Richmond's infamous Robert E. Lee statue may go to a black  history museum.  (Hyperallegetic.  Infamous?)

**  Marcano:  My talk with a racist.  (Dayton Daily New.  An interesting interview.  Give it a read.)

JANUARY 9, 2022

**  WATCH:  Trump supporters waving c(C)onfederate flags protest outside Harry Reid's memorial service.  (Las Vegas.)

**  Is the U.S. really heading toward a second civil war?   (Hopefully not)

UDC, 'Dukes of Hazzard', Catholics, Second Civil War, Hate Crimes-Not Vandalism

 SEPTEMBER 26, 2020

**  Confederate monument removal advocates in newspaper ad call for public meeting with UDC.  (Calloway County, Kentucky)

**  How 'The General Lee' was left in the Democratic Party's dust.  (Very interesting video about former Democratic Rep. Ben L. Jones.  He also played the role of Cooter Jones on the hit TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard.")

**  Catholics journey across Hampton Roads landmarks to highlight racial inequality.  (Virginia)

**  NYT's Friedman":  'I'm terrified' to find myself covering  America's potential  Second Civil War.  (I'm more than a bit worried about this becoming a bloody Civil War myself.)

*********************************

SEPTEMBER 27, 2020

** Confederate monument in Forsyth Park vandalized.  (Savannah, Georgia.  Again, that is a hate crime, not simple vandalism.  What would it be called if something similar was done to a Martin Luther King Jr. statue?)

**  St. Augustine Confederate monument vandalized overnight.  (Florida)

**  Rewatching 'The Civil War'  during the Breonna Taylor and George Floyd protests.    (Ken Burns PBS series.)

**  Protesters call for end to racism during 'March on Graham.'  (Graham, North Carolina)

Second Civil War: The Groundswell Continues

These are headlines from U.S. media.

June 3, 2020

**  The history behind Birmingham monuments  damaged during the George Floyd protest.

**  Confederate monument in Alabama partially removed.

**  Confederate monument removed in Florida as US anti-racism protests continue.

**  Monuments across the United States re-emerged as targets of rage over weekend of widespread protest.  (Photo of a man who taped himself to Confederate statue in Colorado.)

**  Admiral Raphael Semmes  statue in downtown Mobile vandalized overnight.

***********************************

June 4, 2020

**  George Floyd protests  renew calls to scrap Confederate emblem from Mississippi flag.

**  Protesters have been really successful at getting statues with racist history removed.

**  Cities remove racist monuments  before protesters can topple them.   (Wouldn't "protesters" toppling statues be a hate crime?)

**  Protesters damage businesses, monument in downtown Birmingham.  (Well, Birmingham.  What else can I say.  Is it still a protest when they break into a business and loot it?)

***********************************

June 5, 2020

**  Birmingham mayor  slapped with state lawsuit after tearing down Confederate monument.  (Finally, some good news.)

**  Top military  leaders speak out about racism  in wake of George Floyd's  death in police custody.

Help, I Can't Keep Up

Bring back those good old days in April, in the early stages of the coronavirus, when all these incessant attacks on all things Confederate by the new Tyranny of the Blacks took a vacation.

I only had to write four blog entries that month about this mess.

Now, I find it impossible to keep up with the affronts that you see everywhere.  I have to wonder if there is one single Confederate statue anywhere which hasn't had a hate crime committed against it.

If the attacks would stop, this blog would also stop.

But, I don't think it will last much longer because I am fairly sure that by the end of this year, maybe before, every single Confederate statue, memorial, name, flag and everything else will be gone as we have an updated version of November 9-10. 1938.

That's the Night of the Broken Glass which the Nazis used on the Jews for those of you unaware of history.  Who is a Nazi now?

The Floyd Tragedy Has Caused Open Season on Confederate Memorials

That much enjoyed respite that we had when the Confederate-haters took a break during the coronavirus pandemic has come to an end.  Part of this is due to the relaxing of the restrictions that were emplaced for it, but the biggest thing has been the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota.

So many Confederate monuments had hate crimes committed against them (and not vandalism as the media likes to call it) and then we had the situation in Birmingham, Alabama with that city's mayor who needs to be arrested and then the college professor who sent out directions on how to topple obelisks to rioters.

What is wrong with that city?

Too bad, I was enjoying not having to do this blog, but looks like that time is over.

We See What They're All About Now

This past weekend proved beyond a doubt what these Confederate haters are all about.  Do they know that they have all but guaranteed the re-election of their anathema to the U.S. presidency?

They are just as bad as the white supremacists, American Nazis and KKK.  And, supposedly they are against those groups.

SPLC Shows Its Racist Tendencies Over Statue Removal-- Part 1

From the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) May 2, 2020, post "Weekend Read:  Even as Southern states continue honoring Confederate holidays, monuments are being removed" by Brad Bennett.

This group is right up there with the NAACP in its tendency to be hateful of any and all things Confederate.  In other words, reverse racism?

They are upset that some Southern states continue to honor their Confederate heritage but the recent signing of the bill in Virginia to remove "White Supremacy" monuments and they are extremely happy about this.  The overall plan is to remove any and all things Confederate.

Those statues and monuments have never mean racism to me nor does it to many whose ancestors fought for the Confederacy.  By the SPLC's definition, I must be a white supremacist and I sure was unaware of that.

The organization has spent a lot of time and money compiling an exhaustive list of all things Confederate and they want them all gone.

I Will Be Taking a Break from This Blog for Awhile

Because of the Virus and the marked decrease in attacks of the Confederacy, I will do something I have been thinking about the last several days, and that is to stop this blog for awhile.

That is, until the haters ramp up their attacks again.

And, it sure would be nice if they just stop the attacks after the virus pandemic is gone.  If they do, this blog will cease.

Come on guys, I could sure use the break of not having to do this blog.

As We Enter the Fifth Year of the Renewed Attack on All Things Confederate

We can definitely put the date of the beginning of this effort in earnest at June 17, 2015, it had been going on with increasing incidence ever since the Civil War Sesquicentennial, where it began picking up impetus.

That date, a white supremacist, racist, whose name won't be mentioned by me, entered that church and killed those blacks who welcomed him into study the Bible.  He has done the most to hurt the Confederacy than anyone ever did, other than John Wilkes Booth.  Why he is still alive is beyond me.

The second worst thing was the confrontation in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017.  This is where we also first majorly encountered the radical left.  When I saw video of what happened, I have to say that there were plenty of really bad people on both sides.  The sorry excuse who crashed his car into the anti-protesters is also, for some reason, is still alive.

I started this blog because newspapers usually don't report everything that continues to happen, which might give some the idea that this is over.  Believe me, it isn't.  And, personally, I don't believe it will be over until the last Confederate statue and memorial is pulled down or removed.

What I report are headlines from various newspapers and media sources and with some I make comment.

I am calling this the Second Civil War or Civil War II.

They're Back: The Second Civil War Continues

A couple weeks ago, I noticed there was just one alert for Confederate in my e-mail.  That was great.  Maybe, these continued attack on all-things Confederate were becoming to an end.

And, then, I went several days with no alerts at all.

I kind of doubted that the attacks had stopped, but couldn't help but hope they had.  It would give me nothing but pleasure to end this blog.  "The war is over, man, Wormer dropped the big one."  I don't have enough time to do my other seven blogs.  One less would be wonderful.

It was either that, or perhaps someone doesn't want me to be writing about all the attacks as many people rarely hear anything about it.

But as long as the Civil War II or Second Civil War continues, I have to continue this blog.

Oh, Well.  I Was Kind Of Hoping This Would Be Over.  --Old Secesh
