Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

That Bad Ol' Mark Twain

APRIL 19, 2023

**  Why Mark Twain had an incredibly brief stint as a Confederate soldier.  (Well, now I guess his books will have to be banned by the "woke" folks.)

**  Rare Confederate bank notes among highlights at upcoming auction.  (What will BLM, SPLC and NAACP think of that? Probably will have a problem with the term "Highlight".)

**  What to do about Stone Mountain?     Black residents talk park's racist past.  (Georgia)

**  Greenville police investigating stolen grave marker. (Greenville, North Carolina.  It is a pillar memorial.  Would this be vandalism or something else?)

States with Most Confederate Memorials

DECEMBER 20, 2022

**  States with most Confederate memorials.  (73 Confederate monuments were removed or renamed in 2021.  There are still 723 of them left.   This has to really upset SPLC and the Washington Post.))

**  West Point commences remediation efforts.  (There are 13 Confederate assets and memorabilia that need to be removed.  Personally, I would like to see the Confederate Armstron cannon captured at Fort Fisher and on display at the Point's Trophy Point returned to the fort.  I could definitely live with that.  Hey, after all it is CONFEDERATE!!)

**  Confederate camp raises new flag amid calls  for flag along I-85 to come down.  (South Carolina.  The camp is the Adam Washington Ballenger Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.  They raised a version of the S.C. state flag.)

Confederadication: Arlington National Cemetery, Reverse Graffiti and Melting Art

For those of you who might believe that these attacks on Confederate heritage have almost stopped.

OCTOBER 11, 2022

**  Independent commission determines Confederate memorial at Arlington must be removed.  (Arlington National Cemetery.

OCTOBER 12, 2022

**  Confederate graffiti found on Soldiers Monument.    (The Williams Record, Williams College, Massachusetts.  Someone write the word rebel on the Unuion soldier monument and drew a Confederate flag.  Welcome to our world.)

More Good Ol' SPLC Lists

APRIL 5, 2022

**  Virginia:  The state with the most Confederate monuments.  (These numbers hot off the press from the good folks at SPLC--  Total # Confederate symbols: 290, City with the most Confederate symbols:  Lexington with 31, Number of symbols removed since 1880:  107.  Maybe SPLC would like to keep an up-to-date list of how many Blacks kill other Blacks each week these days.)

**  Why Owensboro, Kentucky is fighting to remove a Confederate statue.

**  See how many Confederate memorials still exist in California.  (I bet SPLC can tell you.)

'Go Mississippi,' Jefferson City, SPLC Again and Fort Rucker

**  Jefferson City sued for removing  Confederate-related stones.  (Missouri)

UNC-Chapel Hill Is Confused On What Is Desecration and What Isn't. Not Just Confederadication, But Rubbing Our Noses In It.

JULY 12, 2021

**  UNC's  Unsung Founders Memorial desecrated by pro-Confederates.  (Chapel Hill, N.C.   Two guys with Confederate flags were by it and one had the audacity to sit down on it.  And this was referred to as desecration.  Of course, UNC was where the Silent Sam statue, honoring UNC students who died fighting for the Confederacy was pulled down during "demonstrations" against it.  But, that wasn't desecration.  But a guy sits on a monument honoring Blacks who helped build the campus and that was desecration.

I tell you, it is pretty hard to get a fair shake from the media these days.  Hey, isn't it a law that media must term anyone standing up for their Confederate heritage to be Neo-Confederates linking them, of course, to Neo-Nazis?

Take a look at the pictures to the right and which would you call real desecration?

**  Contextualizing the Confederacy in Georgia: is it possible?

**  Statue of Florida's  Mary McLeod  Bethune heading to the nation's Capitol, replacing Confederate image.  (Why do all Confederate statues HAVE to be replaced by black statues?   Granted, Mary Bethune was a remarkable woman and deserves honor, but that is rubbing our noses in all of this Confederadication.)

**  Putnam Board of County Commissioners voted to move a Confederate  monument.  Now they're considering an ordinance to protect it.  (Palatka, Florida)

The Second Civil War: Kidnapping the Jeff Davis Chair and Holding for Ransom. Do As We Say or Toilet It Will Be

APRIL 8, 2021

**  An anti-racist group is holding a Confederate monument  for ransom.  (Stole from Old Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Alabama.  Group calls selves White Lies Matter.  Put the sign up or we'll turn the Jefferson Davis chair into a toilet.  Good sense of humor, these guys.)

**  Ransom note  threatens to make  Confederate monument in Alabama into toilet.

**  Jefferson Davis memorial throne  stolen from Confederate cemetery -- and under threat of being turned into toilet.

**  North Carolina NAACP  files lawsuit  to remove Confederate monument in Graham.  (Looks like they have enough other problems to deal with other than something like this.  Oh, well.)

Lynching Memorial Okayed for Mississippi Town. No More SCV Vanity Plates in NC. North Carolina, South Carolina, Hate Crime and Confederate Flag

FEBRUARY 2, 2021

**  Lynching memorial approved for Lafayette County Courthouse.  (Oxford, Mississippi.  Seven black lynchings occurred in the the county, (three at the square or near it).  I am all in favor of any historical monument, even one showing the sad side of human nature.  The Confederate monument in the square still stands so it is okay with me as long as this is paid for by private citizens, not the town.)

**  North Carolina stops issuing Confederate license plates.  (These are Sons of Confederate Veterans plates. As long as they take a look at others that some might find offensive.  Hopefully there are no BLM license plates.  I see there are quite a few black fraternity and sorority plates, but since they advance education they are okay.)

**  Pasquotank to talk  future of Confederate monument in Monday meeting.  (North Carolina)

**  Police:  Charleston Battery  Confederate monument vandalized.  (South Carolina.  The Confederate Defenders monument.  BLM written on it.  This is not vandalism.  This is a hate crime.)

**  Pitt County commissioners vote to move Confederate statue that was removed last year from courthouse.  (Greenville, North Carolina.  It will be moved to private property.  The movement should be paid for by those wanting it gone.  No public funds should be used.)

**  Sons of Southern Cross sue Van Buren mayor over Confederate flag at Christmas parade.  (Arkansas.  They can't have the flag in parade.)

The Second Civil War: Louisiana, Arlington House, Fort Bragg, Activists, Trump's Mentality and Texas

DECEMBER 25, 2020

**  White supremacist's statue off Louisiana high court steps.  (Edward  White.  Also a member of U.S. Supreme Court.  His crimes:  Fought for the Confederacy and upheld racial segregation laws.)

**  Arlington House, the Robert E. Lee memorial, must be renamed. (Washington Post.  Big surprise they'd say that.    Excuse me, but wasn't the reason for Arlington National Cemetery being there a slap in the face to Lee in the first place?  Does this mean the name of the cemetery must also be changed?)

**  Top stories of 2020:    Push to rename Fort Bragg, installations named after Confederate generals.  (Fayetteville, North Carolina)

********************************

DECEMBER 26, 2020

**  Activists don't want Confederate monuments, larger issues to be swept under the rug in 2021.  (But, why weren't the activists out there activating against Confederate monuments before Floyd?  Did they know those statues were there and had been for over 100 years?  Inquiring minds want to know.)

**  The Confederate Mental States of Trump.

**  A historic pandemic, Confederate statue, Floyd protests among top stories for 2020.  (Denton. Texas.  Confederate statue removed from court house.  When are they going to quit calling what happened in the wake of George Floyd's death protests or civil unrest.  They were RIOTS, LOOTING, BURNING and HATE CRIMES.)

Let the People Vote! Will the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Have to Go As Well?

AUGUST 8, 2020

**  FULL REPORT:  County judge  seeks vote on Confederate monument; poll question could be on November ballot.  (Gainesville, Texas.  This is the way the removal of all Confederate monuments should go, and not left up to politicians and Blacks.  I actually think that if removal was put up to a vote, most of the monuments would remain.  This is why BLMers are so much against taking a vote.

**  Letters for August 8:  Will the Vietnam  Veterans Memorial have to go too?  (Virginian Pilot.  Were bad things done by the United States in Vietnam.  Of course there were bad things.  As such, all memorials will have to go.

As a matter of fact,  bad things and atrocities have been committed in all wars by the U.S.  All war memorials will have to go.

**  Lawyer's guild says Floyd courthouse's Confederate monument sends wrong message.  (Roanoke, Va.)

**  Augusta mayor names  members of Confederate monuments task force.  (Georgia.  Guess what they're looking to do?)

**  Panel recommends Confederate statue remain on  historic list.  (Bentonville, Arkansas.  Stay on NRHP list even though it has been moved from public property to private property.)

Speaking of Statues, What About Charlottesville's Confederate Monuments?

Just wondering what happened to the two statues here.  I have not seen anything about them being removed and I figured the locals would be chomping at the bit to get rid of them after they caused that confrontation in that city when they first attempted to remove them.

Come on guys, the Confederate Statue Protection Law was removed as of July 1.  Why the dawdle?  Are they still up?

Another Failure, A Fitting Salute and the Monument Movement

These are headlines in the media.  Just in case a lack of articles in your local media leads you to believe that this is almost over.  It sure isn't.  You can look up the articles for more information.

JULY 25, 2020

**  Confederate's name may come off Fort Gordon; Augusta opinions vary.  (Georgia)

**  Opinion:  Another failure.  (An interesting opinion piece which blasts both sides.  Give it a read.)

**  Kenneth Cooper Alexander column:  A fitting salute  for a true patriotic hero.  (Sgt. William Harvey Carney, 54th Massachusetts.  African-American Civil War (and Spanish-American War) monument in Norfolk, Virginia. The Confederate monument in Norfolk has been removed after being "vandalized (hate crime).  I sure wish the media would stop referring to damage done to Confederate statues and memorials as being "vandalism."  It is nothing less than a hate crime and should be treated as such.)

**  Monument movement:  Local  historians say community, consensus key to deciding future of memorials.  (Talks about Confederate monuments removed and says it is important that both sides sit down and reach consensus before anything happens.  This does not happen, unfortunately.  Interesting views expressed.)

Bubba, Kentucky, Parades, California, Wilmington NC, Texas and Names

JUNE 27, 2020

**  Bubba Wallace says police  wouldn't target Confederate flag ban protesters.  (A joke.  But I just don't understand how all it takes is one black person to be offended to have something like the flag ban take place.  More BUBBACAR.)

**  As advocates call for Confederate memorial removal,  Calloway Co. judge-executive says there is no timeline for removal.  (Kentucky.  Advocates anxious.  Just call in the BLMers and their white minions.  That will take care of the timeline.)

**  Federal judge  affirms city's right right to bar Confederate flag from parade.  (Alpharetta, Ga.)

**  Mobile Co. plans to use a different confederate (Confederate) flag at Government Plaza.  (Alabama)

**  Opinion:  You want a Confederate monument?    My body is a Confederate monument.  (New York Times)

**  Central California official resigns after showing a Confederate flag post with 'Proud to be White' phrase.

**  Wilmington Confederate monuments came down in the interest of public safety.  (North Carolina.  And to keep the BLMers and their white minions from destroying them.)

**  A change is coming to Confederate iconography.

**  Confederate soldier statue is removed from Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square.  (Texas)

** Confederate names are common in the US-- and not just on statues.  (Schools, roads, towns, lakes and more named for them.)

The Second Civil War: Monuments, Statues and Memorials, the Washington Post, North Carolina, Fort Sanders and U.S. Capitol

JUNE 19, 2020

**  'History has a place':  Who should decide if Confederate monuments stand in Fort Mill?  (South Carolina.  Like I said many times, let the people vote on the statues.  Don't leave it up to governments or the judicial system.)

**  Parker County's Confederate  veterans statue could be moving soon.

**  Destroying Confederate monuments isn't 'erasing' history.  It's learning from it.  (I had to really laugh at this headline from the Washington Post.  Who'd have figured that newspaper would write something like that?  And, there was no "Kristallnacht or Book Burnings in Nazi Germany in the 1930s either.   That was "learning history.")

**  The Latest:  Protesters pull down Confederate monument in NC.  ("Protesters"?  Really.  They were rioters committing a hate crime and got away with it.)

**  Robert E. Lee mosaic in downtown Fort Myers painted over.  (Florida)

**  Blunt slows move to remove Confederate monuments.  (U.S. Capitol.  U.S. Senator Roy Blunt from Missouri.  What?  Sort of a win for us.  Since the BLM "protesters" and their white minions can't get at these statues to do their usual, this has got to be getting to them.  So sorry guys.  You'll have to wait.  But these statues will be coming down soon enough.)

**Vandals target Fort Sanders statue.  (Guess which side this statue was on.  I wonder if they'd be called "vandals" if they did this to a Martin Luther King, Jr. statue?)

**  As I See It:  Military bases should reflect  American principles  of liberty, justice for all.

The Confederacy Under Attack: Memorials, Monuments, Statues...All Gotta' Come Down

JUNE 9, 2020

**  A solution to the Confederate monument problem.  (A very hateful article from the Atlantic magazine.)

**  Virginia has the most Confederate  memorials in the country, but that might change.  (No kidding!!  A book was recently published locating and giving the history of most if not all those Confederate monuments in Virginia.  Now, it can be used to locate where they were.  Of interest, I thought I saw the original publisher was the University of Virginia Press and now it is printed by Southern Illinois University Press.  Of course, UVA and its town of Charlottesville have taken a major role in getting rid of these monuments so I am not surprised they might have backed out of printing this book.)

**  Louisville removed the Castleman statue.  Is this the end of the Confederate memorials?

**  Protests are bringing down Confederate monuments around the South.

**  Arizona secretary of state:  Confederate monument should be moved from Capitol.

**  NASCAR's Bubba Wallace wants  to rid race tracks of the confederate (Confederate) flag.  Why wouldn't CNN know that Confederate is a proper name an should be capitalized?  Ol' Hurricane Bubba.

**  Confederate Vance monument debate reignited amid George Floyd protests.  (A very liberal, left-leaning group of folks.)

What Is Happening to Statues Across U.S. Is Reminiscent of of 1930s Nazi Germany: Book Burning and Kristallnacht

Has the United States slipped into a Neo-Nazi era led by BLM and Antifa?

Take a look at videos of  the Nazi  Kristallnacht and Nazi Book Burning on YouTube and the similarities are striking between the Nazis and the aforementioned groups.

Sadly, it is not just Confederate statues now, but all sorts of statues.  Where will it end?  How many presidents will have to be removed from Mt. Rushmore?  When will Washington, D.C. be renamed Douglass, D.C., or Tubman, D,C,?  When will the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial be either taken down or be renamed?  When will the National Anthem be changed to "I'm Black, I'm Proud?"  When will four of the five first president have to be written out of history books?

And, it goes on and on.

Maybe it is time for the government to put a stop to this anarchy and the Tyranny of the Blacks.  Let the police put a stop to the lawbreaking, which, by the way, is not vandalism but hate crimes.

So, Who's a Nazi.  So, Who's a Neo-Nazi.  --Old Secesh

Help, I Can't Keep Up

Bring back those good old days in April, in the early stages of the coronavirus, when all these incessant attacks on all things Confederate by the new Tyranny of the Blacks took a vacation.

I only had to write four blog entries that month about this mess.

Now, I find it impossible to keep up with the affronts that you see everywhere.  I have to wonder if there is one single Confederate statue anywhere which hasn't had a hate crime committed against it.

If the attacks would stop, this blog would also stop.

But, I don't think it will last much longer because I am fairly sure that by the end of this year, maybe before, every single Confederate statue, memorial, name, flag and everything else will be gone as we have an updated version of November 9-10. 1938.

That's the Night of the Broken Glass which the Nazis used on the Jews for those of you unaware of history.  Who is a Nazi now?
