Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

The Second Civil War: Virginia, Maryland, Montana

NOVEMBER 26, 2021

**  King George County  votes to move Confederate monument.  (Virginia.  The key point here is that it was the board of supervisors who voted to move it, not the people.  This probably would not have happened had the people voted.)

NOVEMBER 27, 2021

**  Contract awarded to move Confederate monument.  (Talbot County, Maryland.  It will cost $67,000 and is being privately funded, which is the way it should be.  No public money used and the money coming from those who want it removed.)

**  City won't put Confederate monument on agenda.  (Helena, Montana)

Of Flags, Fountains, Spray-Painting, Statues, Parades and Sad R.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2021

**  Confederate flag license plate spurs hostile workplace trial.  (Connecticut)

**  Group that donated Confederate  fountain in Helena wants it back.  (Montana.  Put there in 1916 and removed in 2017 (BGF)  (Before George Floyd) because of racial concerns.  UDC wants it back.

**  Virginia man who spray-painted Confederate monument at Arkansas' Capitol pleads guilty to misdemeanor.  You mean it is possible to arrest folks for desecrating something Confederate?  I didn't think that was possible.)

**  From Plato to Confederate statues:  Students study why  some iconic images are broken.  (DePauw University)

**  Remains of Confederate Gen. A.P. Hill could be reinterred to Culpepper's  Fairview Cemetery.  (Right now they are still in Sad R.  believe me, the sooner we can get all vestiges of the Confederacy out of that town the better.)

**  Court says city can ban Confederate flag in veterans parade.  (Imagine our justice system saying something like that.)

Oh, NO!! Even 'Animal House' Now? What Will They Go After Next?

MAY 13, 2021

**  Montana landmarks named for Confederate leader questioned.  (Places named for Jefferson Davis.  Jeff Davis Peak,  Jeff Davis Gulch and Jeff Davis Creek.  Not sure what Davis had to do with Montana?)

**  Our view:  Confederate  Heritage Month a relic of the past.  (Mississippi)

**  Confederate signs placed back on city property.

**  Should Baton Rouge drop Confederate street names?  New committee  will study it.  (Louisiana)

**  County denies  group owns Confederate  statue  in response to lawsuit.  (Kentucky)

**  South Carolina  closed government  offices in honor of 'Confederate Memorial Day'.

**  John Landis discusses  use of Confederate flag in controversial Animal House scene.  (Don't even think about what Pinto and the 13-year-old girl were about to do.  That horrible, horrible, horrible flag, you know.  Well, there was obviously a U.S. flag there as well.  What about that one?  Landis said the reason the flag was there was because they were using an actual fraternity room for the scene and it was already there.  Nobody ever expected it being there would be an issue.)

Going after my all-time FAVORITE MOVIE!!!  This means WAR!!!

Colleges Should Drop the Word Virginia from Their Names in That State Because .... Books, Confederate Memorial Day, Virginia and Montana

MAY 10, 2021

**  "The War on Nostalgia."  A new anti-Confederate book by Clint Smith about the Myth of the Lost Cause."

*************************

MAY 11, 2021

**  Joe Cunningham calls to end Confederate Memorial Day, make Election Day a state holiday.  (South Carolina.  A democrat running for governor.  Big Surprise!)

**  Isle of Wight removes 116-year-old Confederate monument.  (Virginia.  Always wonder why , if it stood for something that bad, it wasn't removed sometime before "Woke" and "Cancel Culture"?  Inquiring minds want to know.)

**  Virginia universities reckon with Confederate symbols.  (Here something else they can do.  If they were established before the Civil War, they need to close down because of the shame of slavery.  Since the name Virginia was given while slavery was still in existence, the name Virginia must be removed from its name.  It will now be The University in Charlottesville and Commonwealth University in Sad R.)

**  MT groups call for landmarks named after president of the Confederacy to be changed.  (Montana)
