Maryland's Flag Has Confederate Symbols. U.S. House Votes to Remove Confederate Monuments from Gettysburg

**  VERIFY:  Yes, Maryland's state flag has a Confederate symbol.  (Marylanders who fought for the Confederacy used the Crossland Banner.  Now, this flag has to go.)

**  Letter:  Confederate flag is a symbol of hate.  (I'm beginning to think BLM flags and banners are also symbols of hate.)

**  NAN Georgia leads peaceful rally  for the removal of Confederate statue.  (Augusta)

**  Decades ago, a press association dedicated a plaque to a Civil War-era journalist who supported slavery.  Now it wants it removed.  (Plaque at Fortress Monroe for John Mitchell, Irish freedom fighter.)

**  Figard:  Don't forget the actual Confederate heritage.  (slavery)

**  Opinion:  US House voted to remove rebel monuments from Gettysburg.  The Senate must stop this.  (Passed House July 24 by a 224-189 vote.  has a provision to have all Confederate "commemorative works"--  every monument, statue and possibly all informational  brigade and regiment markers, removed not just at Gettysburg, but all National Parks in the U.S.  This is why Democrats must be stopped.)

**  Georgia city  confronts future of site where slaves were sold.  (Louisville, Georgia)  (I think it should be allowed to remain where it is as it shows a sad aspect of slavery.)

About That Memphis Thing With Nathan Bedford Forrest-- Part 1

From the May 12, 2020, Fox 13 News (Memphis, Tn.)  Remains of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest to be removed from Health Sciences Park" by Greg Coy.

Surprisingly, the news segment just said he was a Confederate general and that he was a former slave trader.  Probably the first time I've ever seen a news article not mentioning that he was a founder of the KKK.  I was shocked.

The remains if Confederate general and former slave trader Nathan Bedford Forrest  and his wife will leave Memphis for good.  Exactly when is not known because of the COVID-19 situation.

His family and supporters and the group that operates the park have reached an agreement.  The lawsuit about his remains is over.  A spokesman for Forrest's family has told Fox News that the bodies will be taken to a place near to where the general was born.

This argument in Memphis has been extremely divisive.

His remains and those of his wife were buried in what is now known as Health Sciences Park in 1904, not in the cemetery as was directed by his will.  The park was known as Forrest Park until recently.

Virginia Democrats Strike, Are All Historical Markers in Danger Now? and the Mississippi Flag

**  Holiday honoring Confederate generals swapped  for Election Day in Virginia.  (The Democrats strike!!  Hopefully something can be done about them in the next election.)

**  Wise:  As long as you let kids wear Confederate flags to school, you'll go down as the "Lost Cause."  (Still upset about the Virginia school district which wouldn't ban the Confederate flag from attire.  This even though the only black person on the board wants it removed.  Hey, majority rules in this country.  Finally people with enough backbone to stand up against this tyranny.  I don't know about you, but I am really getting tired of the one offended black person getting all the say in things.)

**  Slave auction markers missing from Charlottesville's Court Square.  (Virginia  I am against anything historical being removed or damaged.  But with it being allowable now for persons to "vandalize" Confederate monuments, I guess this is likely to start happening.   I hope the markers are found or replaced more securely.  Keep our history.)

**  Will the Mississippi state flag be redesigned?  (Hopefully it will be put to a public vote and not determined by any legislative or judicial body.)
