** Richmond school district to rename three schools named for Confederates. (Virginia. As I have said before, I am all for renaming any school where the majority of the students are BLACKS.)
Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

A Guy Running for Office Really Did That?
FEBRUARY 10, 2022
** Louisiana Senate candidate Gary Chambers burns Confederate flag in new campaign ad. (Of interest, the candidate is a black man. Who'd have figured. Could that be considered a hate crime? We are not impressed. And, believe it or not, this guy is a Democrat.)
** Why are Canadian protesters flying Confederate flags?
** Proposed Alabama bills would protect Confederate monuments and raise fines if they are removed.
** N. Carolina town council opts to remove Confederate monument. (Edenton. Only two of the members are Blacks. Someone wants a new statue there to honor a black slave who escaped. Take down a Confederate statue and replace it with a black statue. That sure can make for bad feelings.)

Where Have All the Statues Gone?, Mobile's Fine, Renaming US Ships and the USNA
JUNE 17, 2020
** Mobile to pay fine, move Confederate statue permanently. ($25,000. Alabama has a Confederate statue protective law. However, now i would like to see that law dropped in cases of "public safety." In short, it is tearing me apart seeing what those "people" are doing with impunity to those monuments. They all need to be removed to places of safe-keeping, at least until such time as those committing the hate crimes against are held accountable and punished. And we all know that is not going to happen.)
** Where have statues of Confederates, and other historical figures been removed? (Real good question. New Orleans still have their statues "sequestered" somewhere, probably never seeing the light of day again. What about the others?) Good article that gives an update on the situation with various statues.
** Will two U.S. naval vessels need to be renamed? (USS Chancellorsville (CG-62) and USNS Maury (T-AGS-66))
** As naval academy superintendent condemns racism, a mid's (midshipman) tweets presents a problem. The academy has already removed a plaque outside Maury Hall depicting a Confederate flag and I'm sure they are in the process of renaming it.)
