**  Fort Benning to get a new name.  Here are some possibilities.  (Obviously, a lot of the suggestions are for Blacks.  I am in favor of naming some of the bases after Blacks, but definitely not all of them.)

**  There are 16 Baton Rouge streets with Confederate ties that could be renamed.  (Do they all have to be renamed for Blacks?)

**  New trial for Black man whose all-white jury met in room with Confederate symbols.  (Tennessee.  Let's see, "Black man", "all-white jury."  Is Black white racists?)

**  Mom shocked by school library Christmas book showing Santa with Confederate flag sack, gun.  (North Carolina.  The book was "Redneck Night before Christmas."  Well, what would you expect from a book like this, but, it shouldn't have been in a school library.  I saw some pages of it and it was a real knock on rednecks. How dare Santa have a Confederate flag on his presents sack!!)

I'm All In Favor of Black Monuments, But.... Now, Even the Color Grey Comes Under Fire.

NOVEMBER 15, 2021

**  Sculpture a tribute to US Colored Troops liberation of Wilmington.  (Wilmington, North Carolina.  This is a good one to  put up as many USCT regiments were involved in the capture of the city.  However, Wilmington was not liberated.  It was captured.  Also, to put  up a statue to Blacks when you're taking down statues to whites.  I just don't know.)

You can never have too many historical statues or markers in my book.

**  Westford  schools may remove  'grey' from mascot's name, rebrand with students' help.  (Westford, Massachusetts.  How far will they go?  Come On, Man.)

**  The Old Home Town makes the proper decision on Confederate statue.  (Jackson, Tennessee)

**  Confederate Memorial Park to host Christmas event.  (Marbury, Alabama.  I wonder how this park has escaped attack?)

These Attacks Just Don't End: At Least in NC, Toppling Confederate Monuments Is Illegal.

The main reason I keep writing this blog is so people see that this Confederate hatred campaign is still underway.  Media doesn't cover it in depth, just in local instances most of the time.  These are recent headlines that you read, with location and my comments in parentheses.

MARCH 25, 2021

**  NJ man charged with toppling Confederate statue outside NC Capitol.  (Back in April, 2020.  I am amazed.  I though that people committing hate crimes like that were in line to get medals and good commendations, not prosecuted.  Again, I am shocked.  Now, what about that Virginia state senator who incited a riot and hate crime in Portsmouth?)

**  Rally planned Tuesday over renaming of Duval County Confederate-named schools.  (Florida.  I am taking this as a vote as to whether to rename them or not.  If so, that is the way to go.  Let the people vote.  I did read that the voting does not determine the new name.)

**  Southern charm:  Patricia Altschul caught flying Confederate flags on Christmas tree.  (Big Whuup!!  So, who cares.  And how does a flag fly on a Christmas tree anyway.  And, who is Patricia?)

**  Robert E. Lee High School students plan protest over school's name.   (Jacksonville, Florida)

Monuments and Slave Body Bags. Wilmington, N.C. and Those Not Invited

DECEMBER 25, 2020  CHRISTMAS DAY

You'd kind of think "They" might take a day off today.  But, NO!!!!

**  Confederate monuments at Park Service get a reprieve.  ("Those" people want all Confederate statues and markers at National Battlefields taken down.  Then, who were the "good guys" fighting?)

**  'Body Bags' of slaves latest weapon in Confederate flag fight.  (Marshall County, Alabama.  They represent slaves owned by John Marshall, the county's namesake.  Gets me to wondering.  How much work can you get out of a dead slave?  Probably not too much.  Why would Marshall kill his slaves.  Inquiring minds want to know.)

John Marshall was the U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice and owned 200 slaves during his lifetime.  Must have been a really bad man.

**  Top stories of 2020, No. 7:  Confederate statues removed, park renamed.  (Wilmington, North Carolina)

**  Tullahoma alderman won't apologize for  family Christmas party photo with Confederate flag.  (Tullahoma, Tennessee.  Those who are upset obviously weren't invited to the party.)
