Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

Confederadication: England, Virginia, Georgia, SPLC and Voting

JUNE 29, 2022

**  University student union apologizes for displaying Confedetae flags at 'Wild West' summer ball.  (Harper AdamsUniversity in England.)

**  Lee District likely to be renamed  to Franconia District.  (Fairfax County, Virginia.)

*******************************

JUNE 30, 2022

**  Confederate flag display supports Georgia  policewoman's firing.  (Roswell, Georgia)

**  Billboard pushes for removal of Confederate monument in Putnam County.  (Brought to you by the good folks at SPLC.  What?  No List?)

**  Commission looking  at ballot resolution for  c(C)onfederate monument.  (Careful.  You put it to a vote of the people and removal usually fails.)

Beware the Evil Confederate Flag. SPLC Does It Again. Now Jews and Baseball?

MARCH 30, 2022

**  Man who waved a Confederate flag pleads guilty in Capitol riot.

**  NAACP, Southern Poverty Law Center asking for removal of Confederate statue in Owensboro.  (Now, that is very surprising.  Who'd expect them not to like that statue.)

**  Baseball player exposed for wearing Confederate flag hat in viral Tik Tok.

**  Jewish art exhibit at Princeton canceled over Confederate ties.

**  A billboard goes up, a Confederate statue remains.  (Kentucky.  Referring to the second item in this post.  The SPLC put it up.)

Strange the SPLC Would Put Up a Billboard When They Are So Adept at Making Confederate Hate Lists.  --Old Secesh

The Removal of the Lee Statue Makes Lots of Headlines

SEPTEMBER 9, 2021

There were a lot of articles about the statue of Robert E. Lee coming down in Sad R.  I mean a whole lot.  Of course, I want to know if they are going to also take the pedestal down as what the city and state allowed BLM and NAACP to do to it was an affront to decency.

This display goes a long way to explain Sad R's lapse to the Dark Side.

I also don't know why they cut the statue up.  I know the given reason was so it could get through some low overpasses, but I think it goes beyond that.

**  I-35 billboard  calls for Confederate monument removal in Williamson County.  (Texas.  An SPLC thing.  Since when Does SPLC operate in Williamson County?  "Our County?"  Really.

SEPTEMBER 10, 2021

**  Crew searching for Confederate statue's 1887 time capsule.  (That would be the Lee statue in Sad R.  They also are placing another one for 2021.  This leads me to think they are going to keep that sad pedestal up instead of also removing it because Blacks find former Confederate pedestals offensive.

Of Course, What Gets Me Is How Come It Took Certain People So Long To Realize They Were Offended By That Lee Statue.   --Old Secesh

You Want That Statue Removed. Pay for It Yourself. Memphis, Mouton, Louisiana, Charlottesville, Capitol and Ozarks

JULY 17, 2021

**  Black Memphis clergy back efforts to remove Confederate marker in Collierville town square. (Tennessee.  Imagine Blacks doing something like that.  I know, real hard to believe.  That is not racist a bit I imagine.)

**  Mouton statue to be moved as Confederate group backs down from legal battle.  (Louisiana)

**  Public reacts to removal plans of downtown Lafayette's  Confederate statue.  (Louisiana.  The Mouton statue again.  The UDC will move it after town pays $25,000.  At least that's fair as long as the move is no more than $25,000.  If it is more, then the town should pay more.  However, even a better idea is to have those who want it moved pay for it themselves, not the city.  Hey folks, put your money where your mouths are.)

**  Charlottesville extends deadline  for hose interested in the Confederate statues.  (Virginia.  As long as the city pays all expenses involved, or, even better, those who want them moved pay for it.)

**  Senate Democrats introduce House-passed bill removing Confederate statues from U.S. Capitol.  (Wow, Democrats doing something like that?  Of course, the way all the headlines about this up until now screamed, I thought this was already a done-deal.)

**  A giant Confederate flag went up in the Ozarks.  One woman answered with this billboard.  (Missouri)

Is the SCV Pro-Confederate? You Betcha!! Are They Neo? Georgia, Statues, the House, SPLC and Soybeans

JUNE 28, 2021

**  Revealed:  neo-Confederate group includes military officers and politicians.  (The Guardian.  They are calling the Sons of Confederate Veterans group neo-Confederate.  No kidding.  Their ancestors fought for the Confederacy.  That is the only way you can become a member.  Now, I realize calling SCV neo-Confederates is akin to calling someone a neo-Nazi and puts a person in bad light, which is exactly why the ultra-left, or neo-Marxists, or whatever you want to call them, use this term.  I get tired of the other side lumping Confederates with Nazis.  Don't you?)

**  Local government notes:  Madison  Co commissioners meet, A-CC relocates confederate (Confederate) monument.  (Athens, Georgia.  Looks like WGAU would know better.  The Athens Confederate monument was relocated to the Civil War's Battle of Barber Creek.

**************************

JUNE 29, 2021

**  House votes to remove Confederate statues and replace Roger B. Taney bust.  (No surprise there at all.  How else would you expect a Democrat to vote.  I imagine Nancy is beside herself smiling.)

**  New billboard presses for removal of Confederate  monument from Georgia Capitol lawn.  (John B. Gordon statue.  Of course, this brought to you by the good folks at SPLC.  Maybe they should be spending their money on finding out why Blacks in Chicago keep shooting and killing other Blacks.)

**  Confederate soybeans  and the legacy of racism  in American agriculture.  (Soybeans?  Really?  Those racist plants!!)

SPLC's Billboards, Confederate Is a Proper NAME!! Streets, Arrest Warrant and Talbot Boys

**  Hearing scheduled for Owensboro confederate (Confederate) monument.  (Kentucky.  Looks like WEHT would know that Confederate is a proper name and should be capitalized.  Just saying.)

SPLC's Billboards. Giant Confederate Flag? Baltimore, United Kingdom and Joe

MAY 15, 2021

**  Losing the 'Lost Cause':  SPLC launches  billboard campaign to educate  communities on false narrative behind Confederate History Month.  (Could you expect less from them?  Still waiting for your LIST on BLM demonstrations that became riots last year from these guys.  Beginning to think that's not going to happen.)

**  A man accused  of storming the Capitol with a giant Confederate flag will get to go on a family road trip while awaiting trial.  (That was a 3 x 5 foot flag.  Hardly giant flag.  He is out on bail.)

********************************

MAY 16, 2021

**  Friends of Wyman Park Dell working to replace confederate (Confederate)  statue.    (Baltimore, Md.  Looks like Fox 5 News would know that Confederate is a proper name and should be capitalized.)

** Why teacher was right to report Confederate flag to police.  (United Kingdom.  Come on.  There Too??)

**  Joe Biden revokes executive orders Trump signed  while he was defending Confederate monuments.

Democrats At It Again. Justice Gone Awry? Billboards, Delaware Man, Kentucky and North Carolina

MAY 8, 2021

**  Get rid of Confederate rock or risk custody of multiracial daughter, court tells woman.  (New York.  The judicial system's gone awry.)

**  Billboard campaign prods cities  to remove Confederate monuments.

**  Democrats revive bill to remove Capitol busts of  Dredd Scott author, Confederates and more.  (Washington, D.C.   Chief Justice Roger Taney of Dred Scott Decision, Vice president John C. Calhoun.  Ah yes, the Democratic Party, the Party of the KKK.  What party was responsible for the ending of slavery?)

**  Plea may be coming from Delaware man who carried Confederate flag through  Capitol.

**  KAco to take over representation for county in Confederate statue lawsuit.  (The Kentucky Association of Counties.   Dabies County, Ky.)

**  Confederate monument's  future could be determined in June.  (Laurinburg County, N.C.)

Goodbye Fort Hood. Last Civil War Widow Dies. The Problem with Those Confederate Statues and License Plates and That Flag Inside the Capitol

JANUARY 6, 2021

**  Defense bill will force Fort Hood to change its name.  (Texas)

**  The last known  widow of a Civil War veteran has died in Missouri.  She was 101.  (Okay, not exactly Civil War II stuff, but of extreme interest to me.)

**  New Mississippi flag without rebel symbol being put into law.  (Now maybe those state colleges will be able to fly the flag of their state.  I still believe that they shouldn't have received any state funding during their refusal to fly the old flag.)

*******************************************

JANUARY 7, 2021

**  Billboard taken down after calling for removal of Confederate statue.  (Allendale Township, Michigan.  Removed because of complaints.  Text on it:  "Remove the racist  Confederate statue."

**  SC bills seek to ban  vaccine mandates, Confederate  license plates.

**  Trump-supporting rioter pictured carrying a Confederate flag inside US Capitol.  (Not to mention all those US and Trump flags in there and outside.  So, Confederates finally captured the Capitol after failing to do so in 1864.)

Why Did It Take So Long for Some People to Realize They Didn't Like Those Pesky Confederate Statues?

AUGUST 2, 2020

**  Group organizes 'Save the Confederate statue' in Owensboro.  (Kentucky.  Nice to see some people not letting BLM run roughshod over them.  Of course, when you have a pro-statue demonstration, BLM is apt to show up and cause a confrontation.)

**  The above statue has been in front of the Daviess County Courthouse for 120 years.  (I have to wonder why it took black people so long to figure out they didn't like it?)

**  BLM billboard next to Confederate flag to be removed.  (Pittsboro, Chatham County, N.C.)

**  Trump in leaked conversation bragged about retweets for defending Confederate history.

**  Fort Mill hears 2 opposing views on Confederate Park.  here's how Mayor Savage responded.  (Fort Mill, S.C.)

**  Parker County's decision to keep Confederate statue sparks protest Sunday morning.

**  Analysis:  Mississippi group  aims for simple flag design.

**  Bernard Schoenburg:  LaHood lone Illinoisan to vote against bill to remove  statues in D.C.  (There are five Republican representatives from Illinois which means four of them sided with the Democrats.  Mustn't side with Democrats.)

About That Confederate Memorial in Orange, Texas

I wrote about this in my January 24, 2020 blog.

From January 21, 2020, 6 KFDM, CBS, "Confederate memorial in Orange  ignites modern day civil rights struggle" by Angel San Quan.

The Confederate Memorial of the Wind is located on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.  Some people consider that a slap in the face of the civil rights icon and movement.  You know, the "S" word.

It consists of  13 columns, representing the 13 states of the Confederacy and contains the Confederate flag as well as the flags of Texas Confederate regiments.  It is quite an impressive structure.  It was built by the Sons of Confederate Veterans who chose the site because the land was cheap, not because of the name of the road it is on.

Construction started in 2013 and there has been controversy over it ever since.

Opponents of the memorial have raised money to put up a billboard by it featuring King and one of his quotes:  "A time comes when silence is betrayal."
