UNC-Chapel Hill Is Confused On What Is Desecration and What Isn't. Not Just Confederadication, But Rubbing Our Noses In It.

**  UNC's  Unsung Founders Memorial desecrated by pro-Confederates.  (Chapel Hill, N.C.   Two guys with Confederate flags were by it and one had the audacity to sit down on it.  And this was referred to as desecration.  Of course, UNC was where the Silent Sam statue, honoring UNC students who died fighting for the Confederacy was pulled down during "demonstrations" against it.  But, that wasn't desecration.  But a guy sits on a monument honoring Blacks who helped build the campus and that was desecration.

I tell you, it is pretty hard to get a fair shake from the media these days.  Hey, isn't it a law that media must term anyone standing up for their Confederate heritage to be Neo-Confederates linking them, of course, to Neo-Nazis?

**  Confederate statue haunts  Blacks in Mo. town.  (Liberty, Missouri.  For crying out loud.  It is in a cemetery!!!    The graves of some 40 unnamed Confederates are around it.  At least the "activists" who want the statue removed are willing to pay $10,000 for it.  I can respect that.)

**  Half the staff:  Confederate flag to fly  from smaller pole.  (Virginia.  All the impact!!)

**  Confederate monuments  vandalized in city-owned cemetery.  (Atlanta.  Again, that was not vandalism.  It was nothing short of a hate crime.)

**  A murky  legacy:  Confederate generals who helped black locals.  (How could this be?)

**  Ky. mayor says Confederate statue  won't be on city property.  (Owensboro, Kentucky)

**  South Alabama professors wore Confederate gear, posed with a whip  and noose.  Now they're under investigation.  (From Halloween 2014.  They have been placed on leave.  University of South Alabama.  Of course, nothing at all happened to college professors who provoked attacks on Silent Sam at UNC or the one at UAB who posted how to pull down a statue.  We must be fair here.)

**  Removing monuments not the answer to stopping hatred.  (As a matter of fact removing them causes more hatred.)

**  AAUP chapter calls for Chapel Hill's chancellor's removal.   (UNC-Chapel Hill.  American Association of University Professors.  Of course, I believe a lot of this Confederate hatred stems from the actions of professors, especially at UNC-Chapel Hill.)

**UNC president tried to quell outrage over secret Silent Sam deal.  (Of course, there was no outrage at the hate crime committed in the name of the university that night.)

Best FUs for Confederate Monuments-- Part 2

Okay, here's the list of things Blacks have done that please her:

1.  Bree Newsome climbing the flag pole at the South Carolina Capitol and taking down the Confederate flag.

2.  Kehinde Wiley's statue in Richmond.

3.  An anonymous hero  swiping flags from a graveyard full of traitors in Virginia.  (There is a special place in hell for people who desecrate a cemetery.)

4.  A couple  calmly firing a contractor  who pulled up to work in a truck fly the Confederate flag.

5.  Savana High School (California) got rid of their Johnny Reb mascot.

6.  Tyler Perry building his studio on Confederate land.

7.  Silent San statue at UNC pulled down.  (So sad.  Every student in the video should be expelled and the ones who pulled it down and then did their little celebratory dance on it should be arrested.)

8.  Black man snatching Confederate flag on live TV in Charleston, SC.

9.  Tennessee activists committing hate crime on Confederate monument.

Now, numbers 2, 4, 5 and 6 are not criminal offenses, but  the first three could be classified as hate crimes.  The rest of them are criminal activity and should be prosecuted.

So, someone apparently is saying that people should go out and be criminals.

And, when I see one of those giant Confederate flags flying alongside an interstate, I'm thinking that's a big FU to all those intending to bury the Confederacy.

These guys committed a hate crime and they get to take a walk.  Big surprise.  Had this involved a MLK statue, would the culprits have gotten a walk?  Actually every student there, both hands on and cheering on should have been expelled for hate crimes.  None were.)

Statues Toppled and Lynched in N.C.-- Part 7: How Did the Governor Respond?

So, you're the Governor of North Carolina and Friday night, you find that two hate crimes have been committed.  The first one was on Capitol grounds when the two statues were "toppled" as they like to call it.  I'm sure there had to have been all sorts of BLM, racist and swear words written as well.

Then, the group of "protesters" (really rioters) dragged the statues down the street and strung one up from a light post.  Another hate crime.  Come on, nooses and lynching.  That's a REAL BIG hate crime.  Everybody knows that.

What did Governor Roy Cooper do?  Oh yes, did I mention that he is a Democrat and attended UNC-Chapel Hill.  That might give you a hint.

He used the destruction and hate crimes to do something he has been wanting to do for a long while and that is to remove all Confederate statues from the Capitol grounds.

Saturday morning, official work crews came to the North Carolina Capitol to remove two more Confederate statues.  One statue was dedicated to the women of the Confederacy, and another was placed by the United Daughters of the Confederacy honoring Henry Wyatt, the first North Carolinian killed in a Civil War battle.

Well, what about those rioters committing the hate crimes?  Did he do anything about them?  Or is it okay to commit hate crimes if you're a Black or white minion?

Why did the governor do what he did?

Statues Toppled and Lynched in North Carolina-- Part 6: And, I Thought Nooses Were a Hate Crime

Two statues of two Confederate soldiers that were part of a larger obelisk were torn down Friday night by rioters in Raleigh, North Carolina.   (With all the practice they got pulling down the "Silent Sam" statue at UNC-Chapel Hill, they really know how to do this.  It was another example of we don't have to follow the law anymore.)

Police initially stopped the rioters, but after the area was cleared, the rioters returned and finished the job.  They dragged the statues down the street and STRUNG ONE UP BY THE NECK from a light post.  (Wait a minute, isn't a noose and lynching considered a hate crime?  And they weren't arrested.  I wonder what NASCAR Bubba and all his buds would say about this?)

Lynching and nooses must be a new one of those black things where they can use them, but Whites can't.  Kind of like the "N" word, you know.

Next, North Carolina's governor reacts to this.  Did he order various law enforcement groups to go out and arrest the perpetrators?  I mean, after all, they had committed not one, but two hate crimes.  (Attacking a Confederate statue and the "lynching.")  You'd think that was a rather serious thing.  Wouldn't you?

Times That Try Men's Souls: A Band, Bad Professors?, NASCAR Zealots and Nancy

Here are some articles in the Chicago Tribune of late.

**  Lady Antebellum changes name.  You know, antebellum is used to describe the South before the Civil War.

**  "One Tree Hill" stars asks fans to help fire fire professor.  (A professor at UNC-Chapel Hill, who said "Massa Cooper, let my people go!"  UNC-Chapel Hill?  Wasn't that the place where professors likely urged students to tear down the "Silent Sam " statue in a hate crime?)

Also, kind of strange that those "One Tree" folks had nothing to say about the that professor from UAB who tweeted about how to pull down a statue.  Why hasn't she been fired?  Oh yes.  Birmingham, Alabama, where the mayor has broken the law and is proud of it.

**  About that NASCAR ban.  The Chicago Tribune had two hate-filled commentaries about how bad everyone who supports anything Confederate is.  Those two would be Kevin Williams and Eric Zorn.  Hate, hate, hate guys.  Man, that's a lot of hate-spewing.

**  Pelosi orders Confederate portraits removed.  Those of four previous Speakers of the U.S. House who served in the Confederacy:  Robert Hunter, James Orr, Howell Cobb and Charles Crisp.  Charles Crisp was not a Speaker until after the war.

Maybe, since she's one of those Democrats, and you know how they are about the "S" word, she should also remove the names of Southerners who may have or may not have owned the "S" word.  Those would be Nathaniel Bacon, Henry Clay, Langdon Cheves, Phillip Pendleton Barbour, Andrew Stevenson, John Bell, James K. Polk, John White, John Winston Jones and Linn Boyd.

Riots in Chicago and Across the United States

Why do the media outlets continue to call what happened protests?  It  may have started that way, but what I saw on State Street in Chicago on TV last night was definitely NOT a protest.  It was a complete riot.  The police should be commended for not attacking the rioters and looters, especially after the names, taunts and items hurled at them.

I know the reason for the initial protesting was the death of the man in Minneapolis at the hands of the police, but I went to the Hey Jackass Mayhem in Chicago site for an update on shootings in Chicago so far this year.  The numbers are sad.  And most of the victims are Blacks and have been shot by other Blacks.

Of course, watching the footage of what happened at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill when the students committed the hate crime and tore down the Silent Sam statue sure reminded me of what I was seeing in Chicago and many other U.S. cities last night.

The radical left has gotten as badly out of control as the radical right.  And, it used to be that the left could at least be counted on to be sane, but not any more.  Just watching the two sides at Charlottesville it was hard to tell who was worse.

Hey, friends, last night was nothing but riots.  Wondering if what the rioters were breaking or spray painting was just vandalism as it is in the case of Confederate statues?  Or was it a hate crime.

I wish the media would stop calling it protests.

**  Lawmakers pass bill  allowing Confederate monument removals.  (Virginia, of course.   Bringing on November 10-11, 1938.  However, I still have hopes that certain things will have to be done before they are taken down, especially plans and the money to move the statues.)

**  Demonstrators gather, give out  baked goods  to oppose planned Confederate protest.  (UNC-Chapel Hill--  We saw the god students at that school doing their thing with all the hatred you could ever want when they pulled down Silent Sam.  No wonder the "Confederates"didn't want to face them without serious police protection.  When is the school going to start expelling or having the "students" arrested for their part in the hate crime they committed?)

Besides early voting there was a "scholarly discussion among professors at UNC and Duke on the truths and fallacies of the Civil War and Confederate symbolism."  Of course, with UNC we know where they stand on everything in this matter.)

Ole Miss Apologizes, Agriculture and the SCV, More N.C. and Charlottesville Again

**  Ole Miss apologizes to black protesters arrested in 1970.  (It might be nice if UNC-Chapel Hill would apologize for their students destroying Silent Sam.)

**  Cannabis, Confederates and saving farms:  The primary  for N.C. Agriculture Commissioner.    (One Republican and 3 Democrats running for it.  The Republican is incumbent.

One of the Democrats is a white woman who criticizes the SCV for having a booth at the state fair every year "a group whose whole mission is to engage in whitewashed history that is racist and discriminatory."

Not really sure what the SCV and agriculture have in common.

**  Civil War raging again in North Carolina.  (Big to do over the new N.C. Civil War and Reconstruction  History Center because of race relations and slavery.  "In a state where radicals knocked off the Silent Sam Confederate veterans statue in the dead of the night in 2018, and similar statues  were taken down in Winston-Salem and Pittsboro...."

**  City planning several events to mark Liberation and Freedom Day.  (Charlottesville, Va.--  This day near April 13 was celebrated because of Thomas Jefferson's birthday, but the city council, in all their intelligence decided not to honor him (probably because he owned slaves and we all know that anyone who owned slaves was worse than Hitler and the Nazis) even though he had a little to do with that city.

Instead, they choose to honor Union General Sheridan who came to town with the intention of destroying it (and the university as well).  Of course, they said it was because he liberated all the enslaved people.  You'd think they would have more respect for a local boy who did well and had something to do with the establishing of the United States.  You know, that Declaration thing and presidency.

Virginia Again, That Cemetery Again, Silent Sam Again

**  Virginia lawmakers pass bill to swap holiday honoring Confederate generals for Election Day.

**  Arkansas cemetery allows Confederate flags despite protests.  (Eureka Springs--  It is up to person's family to okay flags.)

**  Why Silent Sam should stand again at UNC.  (Opinion.  Applauds the judge striking down the SCV deal, but wants statue returned to where it stood for over a hundred years.  I'd like to see it go back, but, the amount of money that would have to be spent to stop hate crimes on it would be too much, especially since the UNC students and their faculty supporters know that nothing will happen to them if they are caught.)

**  Chapel Hill mayor and council ask Guskiewicz to keep Silent Sam out of Chapel Hill.  (Part of this is due to student safety issues.  It would be horrible if the statue fell on any of the UNC students while they were in the process of committing a hate crime.)

**  Virginia is poised  to let cities remove Confederate monuments.  It's about damn time.

**  Confederate group has 45 days to return 'Silent Sam' to UNC.  (And, then what will UNC do with it?  Probably just bury it.)

**  The history of the Confederate flag and what it represents.  (A very anti-Confederate article.  What does this have to do with teens and their fashions?  Written by Jameelah Nasheed.  I reckon that explains it.  No racism here, of course.)

**  St. Augustine wants community's input on memorial to honor black troops.  (Florida--  If black troops played a role in St. Augustine during the war I'll be all for it.  You can never have too many things about history.)

**  Sharing flower cuttings is a joy.  (Andalusia Star-News,  Alabama--  This is about the Confederate Rose flower.  I reckon there will be those people who want to change this name.  You know, slavery and all.)

Tennessee's Bust, NC Poll and Does Silent Sam = 3-12 Record for UNC Basketball?

**  Panel vacancy delays action on Tennessee Confederate bust.  (Bedford Forrest)

**  General's bust in Tennessee Capitol draws  passionate arguments on whether it should stay or go.

**  WRAL News Poll:  NC residents say keep Confederate statues.    (Race and political ideology are major indicators involving the ongoing debate over what to do with Confederate monuments, such as Silent Sam at UNC-Chapel Hill.)

Nearly 2/3 of Blacks polled said the statues should be moved to cemeteries or battlegrounds or from public spaces altogether, while only 12 percent said the statues should be left alone.  Another 14% said the statues should remain where they are, but context plaques be added.

By comparison, 45% of North Carolinians said the statues should remain where they are, and another 25% said historical context should be added.    Only 23% said they should be removed.

10% who voted for Trump in 2016 say the statues should be removed compared to 58% who voted for Clinton.  Residents identifying themselves as conservatives were twice as likely to want the statues to remain than those who said they are liberal.  So, it is a Republican vs. Democrat thing.

I plan on voting for Republicans here in Illinois for most every position other than president.  And, that is for two reasons.  The first is this is the only way I have to show my contempt for the Virginia Democrats and secondly, to try to get Madigan out of being the Illinois Speaker of the House.  I normally split my votes between the two parties.  I voted for Clinton in 2016.  I also voted for Obama in his second term as well as when he was running for U.S. senator from Illinois.

And, I am sure hoping Virginians can turn the Democrats out of at least one of the houses there.

I can't help but think perhaps the way the school treats its history might have something to do with their current 3-12 basketball record.  Come on, UNC with that kind of record?  They used to be good.  And, when it comes to major college basketball fans and since I am from North Carolina, UNC was my team.  But, now with this Silent Samia epidemic I'm not so sure.

**  Florida lawmaker says Confederate monuments should be honored like MLK memorials.  (He will come under intense fire for that statement.  We know why certain people don't like anything Confederate, but is there anything that MLK did that might offend some people?

But, didn't MLK have all those extramarital affairs as a preacher?  You'd think he'd know better than that.  Plus, there was the way some Blacks reacted to his murder with rampages, fires, looting and rape.)

**  Athens mayor suggests fair's  inaction on Confederate flag will have costs.  (Athens, Ohio--  Members of the fair's governing body voted overwhelmingly against banning the sale of Confederate items.)

**  Democrats running for state senate talk legislature's role in Confederate monuments.  (Salisbury, N.C.)

**  UNC chancellor vows that the Confederate statue will not return to school.  (That would be Silent Sam.  But, didn't UNC allow those students who committed the hate crime by pulling the statue down, then rejoiced, back in school.  And what about those UNC faculty members who put them up to it.  None of them lost their jobs.)

**  Miami-Dade commissioners vote unanimously to change the name of Dixie Highway.  Florida.  Sheer ignorance.)

**  UNC will not challenge the judge's order tossing out the Silent Sam settlement.  (OK, judge, when will you or someone in authority order the police to start arresting the UNC students and faculty responsible for tearing the statue down.  I would also like the judge to make a ruling on the legality of the UNC students and faculty for their tearing down the statue.  Is it legal to tear something down you don't like?)

UNC wants Silent Sam returned to campus, but hasn't said what they would do with it.  Obviously, the statue can't be put back up as the students and faculty will just commit hate crimes against it.
