Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

Hey BLM and NAACP, Where Are the Marches and Protests After a Chicago Cop Was Killed In Line of Duty and Another Wounded?

What if it had been the cops shooting and killing the occupants of the car?  What would BLM or the NAACP have had to say about that?

Have either group sent condolences?

Have they condemned the actions of the people in the car?

And, I'm kind of surprised that SPLC has not come up with one of their famous lists showing times cop have been killed or wounded by Blacks.

***************************************

Meanwhile, the statistics for Chicago:

LAST WEEKEND:

13 killed, 74 wounded

WEEK IN PROGRESS (8/8 to 8/14):

12 killed, 80 wounded

AUGUST TO DATE:

35 killed, 184 wounded

YEAR TO DATE:

475 killed, 2306 wounded

You can get updated stats at the Hey Jackass, Chicago Mayhem site.

****************************************

Most of the wounded and killed were Blacks, shot by other Blacks in case you didn't know.  And, sadly, this is not just happening in Chicago.

Which is more of a threat to black people, a Confederate statue or flag, or certain other black people?

Civil War II: Anti-Confederate Editorials, SPLC, Emmett Till

AUGUST 9, 2021

**  Why Confederates shouldn't be honored.  (Editorial from the Roanoke Times, Virginia.  Figures.)

**  The fate of Confederate monuments should be clear:  We know why they were built and why they have to come down.  (New Republic.  Sorry guys.  Those statues were built for the same reason the Union statues are on Northern courthouse squares and parks.  They honored those who risked all to defend what they believed in.  And since most Confederate soldiers did not own slaves, I kind of think that was not what they believed in.  Might it have something to do with their homes being invaded by enemy troops?)

**  The last article cited data from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) who keep a "hit list" of anything Confederate that they want removed.   I am wondering what comments those listing folks have made about the killing of the Chicago police officer and wounding of another by that pair of non-white suspects?  Probably nothing.)

**  Proposed Emmett Till statue:  Photos.  Clarion (Mississippi Ledger.  Well worth looking at.  I am in favor of this statue.  Justice was not served here.)

Is Judicial System Anti-Black If Confederate Portraits and Statues Present? Cleaning Up State Police Language. Forrest Going to Columbia and the Confederate GOP

JULY 31, 2021

**  Judicial portraits and Confederate monuments stir debate on bias  in the justice system.  (It is believed that the portraits and monuments mean that Blacks will not get justice.  An even better suggestion is for Blacks to quit breaking the law so much.  Just look at the number of people shot and killed in Chicago for any week.  As Chris says, "Obey the law and be polite.")

**  Rampant racist language , Confederate flag prompted discipline years ago at  State Police."  (Arkansas.  I agree that there should not be this kind of language used in home bases.  Nor should their be swearing when arresting people.)

$290,000 to Replace Confederate Flag on Pensacola Police Badges. Come On BLM and SPLC, Put Your Money Where Your Mouths Are

MAY 15, 2021

**  Confederate flag to come off Pensacola police uniforms, council to wait on  approving funds.  (Florida.  "Don't surprise me none."  It will cost $290,000 which seems to be way too much.  However, that cost should be borne by those folks wanting it gone, not public funds.  Come on, GUYs, PUT your MONEY where your mouths are.

While looking up the Pensacola police badges I saw that formerly the Confederate flag shown was the so-called battle flag.  Now it is the First National flag.)

**  US park  celebrating pro-slavery Confederacy faces a reckoning.  (That would be Stone Mountain, Georgia.)

**  Activists march in Sand Mountain Park protesting Albertville Confederate flag.  (Alabama.  Looked like about eight people there in the news clip.  How do you get to be an activist anyway?)

**  Mississippi city says  state law required  Confederate signs to be put back up.  (Picayune, Ms. SCV logo and Confederate unit markers put back up.)

Removing Confederate Flag from Pensacola Police Badges Should be Paid For by Those Wanting Them Gone

MAY 11, 2021

**  What's your take on  ... Confederate flags in the classroom?  (Acceptable if you are doing a unit on U.S. flags or the Civil War or if you are studying current events.)

**  Removing Confederate flag from Pensacola police badges will cost  $290,000.  (Florida.  Well, if you ask me, that is way too much.  But, regardless of the cost, those who want it removed should pay for it themselves.  Come on, folks, PUT your money where YOUR mouth is!!!  And the flag isn't even the really offensive one to so many.)

**  Judge rules that woman must  choose  her Confederate flag or biracial child.  (Albany, New York.  Hey, biracial means she had the child with a black man.  How racist is that?  It's about that rock, you know.)

**  Richmond City Council continuing confederate (Confederate) monument discussion  Monday.  (One would seriously think that ABC 8 News might know that Confederate is a proper name and should be capitalized.  You'd think, wouldn't you?)

It's Friday and No BLM Rioting in Kenosha!! Thank You Guys. So Proud of You.

To their credit, BLM has not gotten all the rioting, looting and burning going as they did last year in Kenosha, Wisconsin.   And the decision not to try the policeman for shooting the black man did not start it as many expected.

The law forces were on high alert and even the Wisconsin National Guard was called in.

Perhaps the size of forces arrayed against them caused BLM to back down from rioting.  Very likely the fact that it is winter and kind of cold around this part of the country had something to do with no looting.

Perhaps, even, those folks have finally figured out that rioting, looting and burning do absolutely nothing for their cause but turn off many people, including me, from any possible support.  Although, in my case, the fact they are the ones messing with Confederate monuments is enough to turn me against them.

I agree that too many black people get hurt or killed by the police, but in most cases that I have seen, the problem started when the Blacks refused to obey the police.  Had they done what the police had said, the problem would not have taken place.

That man in Kenosha who was shot, had been tasered three times and did not go down.  Most people who are tazed go down after just one shot.  Either Kenosha cops are using bad tasers or there was something going on with the black guy.  And then, after repeated requests and multiple tazing, the guy grabbed a knife.  Come On!!!  However, getting shot that many times was way too much.

I'd sure like to know if he had a criminal record in Evanston, Illinois, where he grew up, or one in Kenosha where he had moved.  And why did the woman he'd had children with call the police?  Was he doing something wrong?

Like Chris Rock says"  "Obey the law and be polite."

This just in, "Tonight's riot is canceled because it's too cold."

But, I Am So Proud of BLM for Not Rioting, Looting or Burning.  Thanks Guys.  --Old Secesh

The Second Civil War: Wisconsin, Alabama, Tennessee, Sad R., North Carolina and Massachusetts

OCTOBER 15, 2020

**  Authorities investigating placement of Confederate flag  on Beloit bridge.  (Wisconsin.  They also should have investigating the earlier placement of the offensive BLM banners on the bridge.  University officials condemned the flag, but somehow overlooked the fact that BLM means rioting, looting and arson as well as hate crimes.  They seem to be okay with that.)

**  Florence activists  say city's resolutions on Confederate monument won't do much.  (Alabama)

**  Hamilton County Commission to vote on resolution to remove Confederate statue.  (Tennessee.  Do you think they will vote to remove it?)

**  Over 20 proposals submitted to acquire Confederate monuments, statue sendoff unlikely in 2020.   (Sad R.  Of course, those who wanted the statues down should pay all expenses involved with taking them down and relocating them.  Hey, guys.  Put your money where your mouths are.)

**  Lexington to remove Confederate  monument  'without delay.'  (North Carolina.  The city has reached agreement with UDC and will pay all expenses.  I still say those who want them removed should pay for it.)

**  'Thin Blue Line' backers denounce use of Confederate flag.  (Danvers, Massachusetts.   The town was having the blue police U.S. flags removed from its fire trucks because one person objected.  There was a demonstration about it and one person had a Confederate flag.)

This Week and A Look Back at August for Chicago Mayhem

From Hey Jackass!  Illustrating Chicago Values site.

I put these statistics in to show that those good folks over at Black Lives Matter sure aren't doing their job very well.  This should be their major goal to stop the shootings and killings of Blacks in Chicago, but they seem to be otherwise occupied.

The sad thing is that the culprits in these shootings are almost always other Blacks.

And, we have a three-day weekend coming up, so watch out!!

WEEK IN PROGRESS  (August 30 to September 5)

15 Killed, 66 Wounded

***********************************

A LOOK BACK AT SOME AUGUST STATS:

63 Killed

3 shot by CPD, 1 fatally

Averaged 16 shot a day

59 males killed, 7 female

52 Blacks, 8 Hispanics, 3 Whites killed

5 children 12 and younger shot

73 teenagers shot, 7 fatally

Austin neighborhood led all other 'Hoods with  47 shot, 8 fatal

Chicago Crime, Murder & Mayhem Update: Another Bloody Weekend Begins and Downtown Chicago Prepares for BLM 'Peaceful Demonstrations' and Possible Rioting and Looting

From the Hey Jackass site.

Weekend tallies go from noon Friday to 6 am Monday.

Jersey barriers and decorative flower pots on Michigan Ave., plywood forests sprouting again downtown, 12-hour shifts and officer safety alerts issued, plus all the usual  nonsense has all the ingredients of a mostly peaceful weekend.

But, BLM plans "peaceful demonstrations" in downtown Chicago this weekend.  We'll see how long that lasts.  But with near overwhelming force, Chicago police should be able to keep the BLM rioters and looters at bay.

I know this does not directly pertain to Confederate monuments, but the main group attacking them is Black Lives Matter (BLM).  And, since they profess to care about black lives, I thought these numbers, which by far are mostly Black-on-Black shootings and murders, would be of interest.

The site takes the numbers from the public record.  These are not made up.

****************************************

Okay, here we go:

The "Stupidity Tally" so far this weekend (starting at noon Friday):

The first 3 1/2 hours were peaceful.

Since then:

3 Killed and 9 wounded as of 11 pm Friday.

This does not include the overnight shootings which are always higher.

*****************************************

Week in progress  (8-23 to 8-29):

11 killed, 95 wounded

August to Date:

51 killed, 383 wounded

Year to Date:

463 killed, 2287 wounded

******************************************

Like I said, if BLM is so concerned with black lives, maybe they should be marching in their own neighborhoods.

The site has a great poster of its "Bridges Up, Don't Loot" saying.  Check it out.

On That Second BLM Attack on Downtown Chicago, August 10

Most everyone knows about the recent round of rioting and looting committed by Black Lives Matter on downtown Chicago during the wee hours of August 10.

This supposedly was caused by a police shooting in Englewood Chicago neighborhood when a black suspect supposedly fired on the police when they attempted to arrest him.  He got shot.

The police had their version of the events and community activists (is anybody in certain parts of Chicago not a community activist?) had another account.

Unfortunately there was no Chicago police body cam film of the events because they were a new unit and hadn't been issued cameras.  That was a huge mistake on the police and city government.  In today's climate, any police dealings with black people has to be thoroughly and completely documented on film.

However, no video has appeared to back the community activists claim that the police shot the guy for no reason.  Whenever you see video of any police-black confrontations, all you see is every single black person filming the event on their $1000 cell phones.  (These are the same people who can't afford $150 to $200 tablets for their children to keep up with their school studies in the virus days.)

Since the Blacks haven't come up with videos proving their side correct, I am going to have to side with the police version.

Video Most Surely Would Have Been Released By Now.  So the Looters Got Another Chance to Stock Up With Ill-Got Stuff.  It Was a Banner Night for BLM.  --Old Secesh

The Problem With Police. Confrontations Can Lead to Bloodshed. Was This a Case of Mistaken Identity?

AUGUST 4, 2020

**  Black Dallas church alleges intimidation by pro-police rally.  (I wrote about this earlier and have to say the church has a point in this matter.  But putting up a BLM banner means they're picking a side.)

**  What's the problem with the police?  Start with the negative reporting about them.  (Definitely.  I was just watching the Chicago police release video footage of protests at Columbus statue which shows what those officers had to endure, 49 police injured with 18 hospitalized.  Then during questions, all one reporter harped on was the black activist female who was injured by a cop that night.  Also the media being reluctant to call a protest that gets out of hand a riot as well as not saying these riots and looting take place during BLM activities.)

**  Man who pointed a sniper rifle at crowd at Weatherford protests arrested, deputies say.  (Well, first off, those "protests" were violent by then, so actually more of a riot.  This is what scares me the most as there will always be armed persons on both sides and all it takes is one little thing to cause that to erupt in bloodshed.  The police did the right thing in arresting him.)

**  East Atlanta's Gen. McPherson  monument mysteriously damaged.  (Georgia  Who do we know that goes around attacking statues these days?  Oh yes.  And Gen. McPherson was a Union officer, not a Confederate one.  And the monument is located where he was killed during the Civil War.  Watch the video of Lenora Scott.  She is quite a wonderful lady.)

A Black Convicted Felon Carjacking Suspect on Parole Shoots Three Police Officers in Chicago on July 30

Thursday morning, July 30, three Chicago police officers were shot when a black man in custody opened fire on them.  He was a convicted felon with a long criminal history and was on parole at the time.

This happened at the Grand Central District police station in the Austin neighborhood (one of the worst areas in the city for the shootings and murders.

One officer was struck in the shoulder, another in his ballistic vest and a third in his hip.  Two were treated and released and one remained hospitalized as of Saturday.

Of course, how the suspect could have been under arrest and still have a weapon (supposedly secreted in his private parts area) needs to be further investigated.

Officers returned fire, striking the 25-year-old offender, but he was not killed.  Here was a black man doing something like this and not being killed.  How about that?

I have not heard anything about BLM or the NAACP or any black community activists saying they are sorry about what happened to the police.  They were probably celebrating the shootings.

I did not see any "demonstrations" anywhere saying thank you to the cops for not killing this felon.  I did not see any where they had posters and signs saying they were sorry that one of their people had done such a dastardly act.

Real Police Brutality Here.  --Old Secesh

About Sad Richmond, It's Sad Mayor and Those Monuments-- Part 3

If even half of what this article said is true, Richmond needs to be ashamed.  Those were some beautiful sculptures, now, all gone (well almost, the Lee statue with all that ugly writing still stands) and I sure will be glad when it also is gone.  What BLM and their white minions were allowed to do to it by order of the mayor and governor should never have been allowed.

Were the police really ordered to stand down when hate crimes were so obviously taking place?

As I said back in JUune, there was an orgy of Confederate statue removal in Sad Richmond at the mayor's behest.

Anyway, I do not plan on visiting Richmond anytime in the near future, perhaps forever, because of the mayor and governor's actions (both are Democrats).  And, considering that I am a big Civil War buff, that will not be easy for me.  Thanks a lot, guys.

Of course, with all vestiges of the Confederacy erased from everywhere, perhaps there would be no reason to want to go to Civil War sites.

Change Those School Names, Move That Statue and Trump

JULY 15, 2020

**  Trump calls Confederate flag 'freedom of speech,' gives heated response on police brutality.

**  Montgomery School Board votes to change the Confederate names of three high schools.  (Alabama.  Jefferson Davis, Robert E.Lee and Sydney Lanier high schools.  Again, if the majority of the students are Blacks, change the name and it would be good to have them renamed after a black person.)

**  Trump focuses on  whites killed by police, defends Confederate flag.

**  Some of Richmond's  Confederate statues being stored at waste water treatment plant.  (Sad Richmond.  Really, mayor?  At least as of this date I don't know that he has ordered the statues immersed.  But sure wouldn't be surprised with his mindset.

And, I am hoping the mayor and city will at least have the decency to repair and clean those statues they let be attacked by the BLMers.)

**  Historic Preservation Commission  discusses Confederate marker.  (Jefferson City, Missouri)

**  'From a place of love, not hate':  Philadelphia, Miss., group wants Confederate statue moved.

Asheville, the Richmond/Charlottesville of North Carolina (This Is Not a Compliment Either). Why Black People Have Been Injured or Killed By the Police.

JULY 14, 2020

**  Yes, take down the Confederate statues.  But the founders are different.  (Washington Post.  Well, at least they are putting the Founders in a different category.)

**  The most 2020 protest just happened in Fort Mill.   But what will the town do?  (South Carolina.  It was done by a virtual meeting.  Letters were written and read by city council.  It was not violent.  Sorry BLM.)

**  Confederate monument removed from Buncombe County Courthouse.  (Asheville, N.C.    Figures, Asheville is the Sad Richmond/Charlottesville of North Carolina.)

**  Trump asked  why Black people  have been killed by police:  'So are white people'.  (Well, true.  Of course, the real big reason why some Blacks are injured or killed by the police is that they break the law and then resist arrest on the rare occasion they are caught.  Their chances of a bad outcome in this situation drop greatly when they cooperate.  In other words, cooperate with the police if they stop you.  Try to out-polite them if you can. Watch Chris Rock's "Eight Ways Not To Get Your Ass Kicked By the Police" video.  If you follow his advice, you probably will not have a bad problem.)

**  Anthropologist hates Confederate statues but isn't eager to dump them.  They can teach a meaningful lesson.

Seriously, Watch That Chris Rock Video.  --Old Secesh
