Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

The Second Civil War: SPLC, Baltimore's Monuments, Minnesota, Virginia and California

JUNE 11, 2022

**  SPLC  to screen movie, discuss Confederate monuments  Saturday.  (Montgomery, Alabama.  Do you think it wil be pro-Confederate or racist?)

**  Baltimore's 4 Confederate monuments to be part of Los Angeles art show.  (These monuments should have been given to the SCV or UDC.  I'm sure they will be shown in a negative light.)

MAY 15, 2021

**  Losing the 'Lost Cause':  SPLC launches  billboard campaign to educate  communities on false narrative behind Confederate History Month.  (Could you expect less from them?  Still waiting for your LIST on BLM demonstrations that became riots last year from these guys.  Beginning to think that's not going to happen.)

Sad Asheville, N.C. Sinks to a New Low. Move It Folks. Don't Destroy It.

Museums, Cemeteries, Bills, Hearings, Constitutions and Statues, OH MY!

MARCH 16, 2021

**  Baltimore's Walters Art Museum reckons with founders' Confederate ties.  (This is so ridiculous.  Like it's a sin to have Confederate ties.  Without those guys there would NOT be a museum.  Be happy with that.)

**  Surprise inside?   Thornrose Cemetery Confederate time capsule awaits  revealing opening.  (Staunton, Virginia.  What will SPLC, NAACP or BLM have to say about this horrible thing?)

**  Bill to protect Confederate monuments advances to House floor.  (West Virginia.  Who'd have figured in this day and age that anything like this would happen.  What list will SPLC put this on?)

**  Hearing to remove  Confederate Gen.  Mouton statue delayed 6th time.  (Louisiana.  We'll count this as a win.  Not much of one, but we're desperate.)

**  160 years  later, Confederate Constitution an ignoble relic.  (The main difference was about slavery between it and the U.S. Constitution.  Otherwise they were essentially the same.)

**  Virginia Beach City Council weighs future of its Confederate monument.  (Virginia.  Hey, let the people vote on its removal.  Dare you.)

An Ignoble Constitution?  Really?  Wasn't It based on the U.S. Constitution Except for Slavery?  --Old Secesh

How Much Does It Cost to Remove a Confederate Monument?-- Part 2: Let Those Who Want It Gone Pay

Here are some costs according to the article:

Baltimore paid $40,000  to move four statues.

Lexington, Ky. paid $225,000 to remove a five-ton statue of Jefferson Davis.

Charlottesville, Virginia, is estimating  it will cost $700,000 to move two Confederate statues in the downtown area.

New Orleans paid  $2.1 million to remove four Confederate statues.  The cost was first estimated at $170,000, but spiked after the first contractor signed to do it had his car burned.

Of course, they can also ask Richmond, Virginia's mayors good buddy how much he got paid for removal of statues there.

Something Stinks in Sad R. Alabama, Virginia and Baltimore

 SEPTEMBER 19, 2020

**  University of Alabama to consider removing Confederate name.  (John Tyler Morgan, former Confederate general and KKK Grand Wizard.)

**************************************

SEPTEMBER 20, 2020

**  King George  seeks to unravel 'knotty history' of  Confederate memorial.  (King George County, Virginia.)

**  In Baltimore, Harriet Tubman honored where Confederate statues once stood.  (Not that Harriet Tubman doesn't deserve recognition, but putting her statue where the Confederate ones were is just rubbing salt into the wound.  Put it elsewhere.  I also believe that the Arthur Ashe statue and that one at the art museum in Sad R. should be removed from what used to be Monument Avenue.  The art museum one should go inside and Ashe placed elsewhere.  The name Monument Avenue should also be stricken and no monuments put up there in the future.  Turn it into a park, but without a black name.)

**  Special prosecutor  to determine future of investigation into Richmond mayor's removal of Confederate monuments.  (Sad R..  That removal contract given to one of the mayor's political contributors is highly questionable.  Like they said, something stinks in Sad R..)

Nothing Much Good Comes Out of Sad R..  --Old Secesh

Stop Renaming and Building New Statues Where Confederate Ones Were Removed. An Acceptable Alternative.

 SEPTEMBER 15, 2020

**  Signs honoring Harriet Tubman installed at Wyman Park Dell, where Confederate statues once stood.  (Baltimore, Maryland.  Go ahead, pour salt into the wounds.  Baltimore removed four Confederate statues under cover of the night awhile back.)

**  Bell County Confederate statue to stay after commissioners vote 4-1.  (Texas.  How did this happen?  bet BLM is not happy.)

**  Williamson County approves recommendation to remove Confederate flag from county seal.  (Tennessee)

**  Group pitches big changes to Stone Mountain Park's Confederate imagery.  (Georgia.  Activist group wants it removed or contextualized.)

**  Plans for James H. Berry Park, new home of Bentonville Confederate statue, unveiled.  (Arkansas.  The statue was recently removed from downtown and will now be located there.    An acceptable alternative in this situation.  Hopefully one that will be copied by others when their Confederate statues are removed.)

**  I still say, however, that all costs for removal of statues should be paid by those who want the statues removed.  Hey, guys, put your money where your mouths are.

And, Stop Rubbing Salt Into Our Wounds Like With the First Thing I Wrote About.  --Old Secesh

About Sad Richmond, It's Sad Mayor and Those Monuments-- Part 2: What Do You Do With a Mayor Who Purposely Destroys Part of His City?

"It should be noted in 2018, the Monument Avenue Commission held a citywide vote about what to do with the statues.  The public overwhelmingly voted in every district to ADD to the Confederate monuments rather than to take them away.  City officials never acted upon this plan.  They should bear  responsibility for the current  mayhem and damage.

"Now Mayor Stoney, with his drastic destruction of Monument Avenue, can look forward to  a huge increase in crime in Richmond, as already seen in Memphis, New Orleans, and Baltimore after statue removals.

"Stoney previously encouraged the mostly white millennial  protesters to destroy the valuable Monument Avenue Beaux Arts sculptures by ordering the police to stand down, according to the police.  Since these protesters displayed such wild hatred of inanimate objects, the question becomes -- if these sculptures ever land in a museum, will the museum and their personnel  be safe from attacks?  The answer is 'no' until local politicians endorse arresting vandals.  Congress is complicit, with those who are history semi-literate, publicly encouraging the destruction of irreplaceable high priced public art.

"On July 1, 2020, the bronze General Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson on Little Sorrell (his horse) by Frederick William Sievers on Monument Avenue was removed.  The avenue will soon be empty except for Lee, on state land and protected by a challenge from from an original benefactor, and Arthur Ashe.  Am allegorical statue of Confederate Navy officer Matthew Fontaine Maury, also by Sievers, from 1929, was also removed.  He created naval charts that are still in use today.

"No matter what contemporary sculptures  replace the fallen ones, tourism in Richmond will suffer.  As previously reported, it had been extremely high, with tourists coming from Europe and all over to see the avenue of spectacular monuments."

I, For One, Am Planning to Never Visit Richmond Again.  And, I Am A Big Civil War Buff.  I Might Not Even Visit Virginia For the Same Reason.  --Old Secesh
