**  The future of Confederate monuments.  (These are the ones at National Park Service parks.  The editorial was in favor of removing them.  Hopefully not.)

**  Luke Combs shares ways to honor southern heritage  without a Confederate flag.  (Pretty lame way.  He has come under fire for being seen around Confederate flags.  He should just tell detractors where to go.)

**  Luke Combs' Confederate flag apology sparks discourse among country fans.  (There have not been many black country music artists, just like there have not been many white rap, soul urban artists.  However, watching all the black country artists performing on CMT, I'm beginning to wonder.  But country does have the late great Charley Pride and Darius Rucker.)

**  University buildings in Virginia once named  after Confederates now  honour African Americans.  (James Madison University.  Why must all renamings be for Blacks?  Aren't there any whites who deserve names on buildings?  From the Washington Post -- and we know where they stand on these issues.  The Post points out that the school is named for the country's 4th president who also owned you-know-what.  Guess what the Post would like to happen?  Welcome Woke University East or the Harriett Tubman University.)

Removal of Confederate Statues at Gettysburg Would Be a Mistake. VMI, Alabama, Voting on Removal and Memphis

OCTOBER 31, 2020

**  VMI to relocate Confederate statue.  (Lexington, Virginia Military Institute.  A very sad day when this venerable institution no longer wants to be connected to a man who essentially is VMI, Stonewall Jackson.)

**  Marshall County to spend $3,000 to protect Confederate monument, flag.  (Albertville, Alabama  This money should come from BLM, even though the fences are going up because of BLM activity.)

**  Alabama County plans fence  to protect Confederate monument.  (Albertville, Alabama.)

**  General election results for moving Confederate symbols in Franklin and Halifax counties on Nov. 3, 2020.  (North Carolina.  It will certainly be interesting to see how voting of statue removals shows tomorrow.  My thought is that most of the votes will go toward keeping the monuments, but, we will see.)

**  The 901:  What's next for Memphis parks now that Confederate statues are gone?  (Tennessee)

**  Monumental  issues:  Gettysburg's Confederate monuments tie into today's racial reckoning.  (Some want them removed (guess who?).  That would be a huge mistake.  Hopefully the NPS won't give into the Democrats and BLMers and their white minions.)

**  Virginia House Speaker faces fines  over response to  requests for Confederate  statue removal documents.  (Regarding late-night removal of them from the Old House chamber.  How come so many times, the statues are removed late at night?  Does this say something about the folks responsible for their removal?  I know who else operates best at night.)

**  Group raises $45K toward city's $1.8M Confederate monument removals. (Sad R. again.  But, I agree that all costs for removal, storage and finding a new home for the statues should be borne by the people who want them removed.  No public money should be involved.)

**  Move the Mindset calls for quick reset after  hearing on removing Confederate statue delayed again.  (Lafayette, Louisiana.  Alfred Mouton statue.)

**  Murray woman  concerned proposed House bill hides Civil War history.  (Murray, Kentucky.  Does not want Confederate items removed from National Parks.)

**  Deadline nears for suggestions to rename Power Elementary.  (Jackson, Mississippi.  Named for Confederate Colonel John Logan Power.  Again, I am all for renaming if the majority of the students are Blacks..)

Two other schools in Jackson named after Confederates have already been renamed for a black activist and one for former President Obama.

**  March held for removal of Mouton statue, hearing delayed because of courthouse closing.  (Lafayette, Louisiana.  The courthouse is closed in the wake of Hurricane Delta.)

**  Oauchita  County to vote on future of Confederate statue.  (Arkansas.  The people will vote on it which is how removal should be done.  Majority rules in my country.  Of course, Confederadication folk are afraid to let the people vote.  Wonder why?)

**  Letter:  Confederate monuments belong in museums.

**  Counterprotesters gather  at courthouse to support the Confederate statue. (Palatka, Florida.)

**  Battlefield guides concerned about the future of confederate monuments and plaques.  (Gettysburg licensed guides.  Upset about the House of Representatives bill  to remove Confederate  markers, plaques and monuments from national parks.  I sure hope it doesn't come to that, but the BLMers and Democrats have to be stopped somewhere.  But, come on guys, Confederate is a proper name!!!)

**  Florida Confederate monument supporters:  'We're not giving up the fight'  (Pensacola, Florida.  One of them had a "History Matters" sign.  It sure does, even if you don't like it.  Don't erase history.  No Confederadication 'Round Here!!)

**  Perspective:  Confederate 'de-Nazification' is doomed.  (Of course, BLM seems to be a bit closer to Nazi tactics than most anyone else these days.)

**  Democrats target Confederate  monuments in spending bill.   (House Democrats are attempting to get rid of Confederate monuments and memorials from National Park Service land.  Would this apply to these on NPS battlefields?  We've certainly come a long way from when the South was solid Democrat, sometimes referred to as "Yellow Dog Democrats."   Republicans were the "enemy" back then.  Remember the part of Lincoln and Reconstruction?)

**  Our view:  Confederate monument should not be a symbol of Gaston County.  (Gaston Gazette Editorial.  North Carolina.  Has this monument been desecrated by BLM yet?)

**  Fund grows to help pay for Confederate statues' removal.  (Sad Richmond, Va.  Estimates to remove the statues on Monument Avenue are estimated o exceed $1.8 million and a group is trying to raise the money privately so as not to hurt city coffers.  So far, they've raised about $25,000.  Long way to go but I agree with costs being paid privately even if this is the mayor's football.  You don't like it?  Put your money where your mouth is.)
