Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

Founding Fathers Zero, WWMs One

**  JANUARY 4, 2023

**  Virginia school board votes to rename  high school named after Founding Father who owned slaves. (Sad R., Virginia.  George Wythe High School.  Renamed it for Katherine Johnson of NASA, a black woman.  Why is it that everything renamed has to be of a black person.  Don't get me wrong, she is very deserving of all honors, but COME ON!!  Will Wythe County and Wytheville in Virginia now have to be renamed?)

I must admit that I had never heard of George Wythe (but have gotten cheap gas in Wytheville, Virginia often).  Go to Wikipedia and read about him.  A remarkable man even if he did have slaves.

JANUARY 5, 2022

**  Nashville suburb sues Tennessee Historical Commission over Confederate named streets.  (Forest Hills, Tennessee)

**  The man who took down  Richmond's Confederate monuments.  (Devon Henry, a black man.  Of course, he made a whole lot of money doing it and also had a political inside track with the mayor.)

Confederates Were American Soldiers As Well. New York Times Doesn't Surprise. How to Take Care of a Flag Controversy

JULY 3, 2022

**  Sons of Confederate Veterans to participate in parade.  (Belton, Texas.  As it ought to be.  Their ancestors were American soldiers too.)

*************************

JULY 4, 2022

**  Army bases that honor  Confederate traitors could soon be renamed  for these heroes.  (New York Times of course.  They were traitors just like our Founding Fathers.)

July 5, 2022

**  No controversies  in this year's Redman Fourth of July parade.  (Oregon.  Last year there was a Confederate flag controversy.  This year, NO flags other than U.S. and U.S. military were allowed.)

The way I look at it is that if we can't fly our flag, then they shouldn't be able to fly theirs:  Pride and BLM.

Asheville, the Richmond/Charlottesville of North Carolina (This Is Not a Compliment Either). Why Black People Have Been Injured or Killed By the Police.

JULY 14, 2020

**  Yes, take down the Confederate statues.  But the founders are different.  (Washington Post.  Well, at least they are putting the Founders in a different category.)

**  The most 2020 protest just happened in Fort Mill.   But what will the town do?  (South Carolina.  It was done by a virtual meeting.  Letters were written and read by city council.  It was not violent.  Sorry BLM.)

**  Confederate monument removed from Buncombe County Courthouse.  (Asheville, N.C.    Figures, Asheville is the Sad Richmond/Charlottesville of North Carolina.)

**  Trump asked  why Black people  have been killed by police:  'So are white people'.  (Well, true.  Of course, the real big reason why some Blacks are injured or killed by the police is that they break the law and then resist arrest on the rare occasion they are caught.  Their chances of a bad outcome in this situation drop greatly when they cooperate.  In other words, cooperate with the police if they stop you.  Try to out-polite them if you can. Watch Chris Rock's "Eight Ways Not To Get Your Ass Kicked By the Police" video.  If you follow his advice, you probably will not have a bad problem.)

**  Anthropologist hates Confederate statues but isn't eager to dump them.  They can teach a meaningful lesson.

Seriously, Watch That Chris Rock Video.  --Old Secesh

Of Flags, Schools and An Intelligent Look at the Statue Question

January 26, 2020

**  District plans Confederate flag apparel after complaint.  (Colchester, Connecticut.   The parent of a bi-racial student said that a classmate had showed him a sweatshirt with a Confederate flag on it.  All it took was her complaint.  I sure wish I had that much power.)

Of interest.  The Norwich (Connecticut) Bulletin had an online poll asking respondents should offensive apparel, like shirts with a Confederate flag, be banned in school districts.  77% said yes, 23% said no.  I don't know how scientific this is.

**  Alumni sue after Virginia school drops Confederate General's name.   (Washington Lee High School in Arlington County is now Washington Liberty High School.  Again, I am in favor of changing the name of any Confederate-named school if the majority of the students are  Blacks.

**  Letter:  Let monument go to a museum.  (Salisbury, N.C.)

**  Editorial:  Battle of the statues will not end well.(Fredericksburg, Va.)  The Editorial Staff makes a good point.  In other words, if the Confederate statues come down because some find them offensive, then that opens the door for these to come down.  What about statues of:

Founding Fathers--  any one who owned slaves
John F. Kennedy--  sexual relations
Franklin D. Roosevelt--  Thousands of Japanese people forced to relocation centers during WW II.
Harry Truman--  Atom bomb
Union Soldiers--  What they did in the occupied Confederacy
U.S. soldiers--  Any number of things they did in war time.
Martin Luther King Jr--

I would like to add these to the list of things Martin Luther King Jr. had:  sexual relations, violence where he went, the way Blacks responded to his assassination with riots, burning, looting.

Finally, some Words of Wisdom out of Virginia.
