Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

Those Pesky Confederate Flags, Getting Expelled and Confederate State Replacement

JANUARY 2, 2023

**  The history and controversy behind the Confederate flag.

**  Editorial:  Expelling Confederate symbols from the military academy.  (West Point.  Now we're being EXPELLED?  Really?

**  Commission for Historical Statues in the United States Capitol to announce sculptor.  (Virginia.  To make a sculpture of Barbara Rose Johns Powell to replace the one of Robert E. Lee in the U.S. Capitol.  Of course, the new sculpture is of a worthy black person.  BUT, why do all replaced Confederate statues have to be of Blacks?  Aren't there some worthy white folks out there?)

Vanquish? Really?

DECEMBER 23, 2022

**  West Point moves to vanquish Confederate symbols from campus.  (Vanquish!?  Really!?)

**  U.S. Appeals Court upholds ruling against N.C. Confederate license plate.  (As long as BLM, NAACP and SPLC plates are not allowed either.)

***********************************

DECEMBER 24, 2022

**  What the future holds for Richmond's former Confederate monuments.  (WVTF.  I tell you, it is not good.  No Confederate monument should ever be turned over to any black organization.)

***********************************

DECEMBER 25, 2022

**  West Point to remove Robert E. Lee portrait, bust.

States with Most Confederate Memorials

DECEMBER 20, 2022

**  States with most Confederate memorials.  (73 Confederate monuments were removed or renamed in 2021.  There are still 723 of them left.   This has to really upset SPLC and the Washington Post.))

**  West Point commences remediation efforts.  (There are 13 Confederate assets and memorabilia that need to be removed.  Personally, I would like to see the Confederate Armstron cannon captured at Fort Fisher and on display at the Point's Trophy Point returned to the fort.  I could definitely live with that.  Hey, after all it is CONFEDERATE!!)

***************************

DECEMBER 21, 2022

**  West Point to remove monuments to Confederate alumni.

**  Another take on the Confederate flag flown at the Christmas parade.  (Greenville, Texas)

Civil War II: Those Confederates in the Attic, Service Academies and Time Capsules

AUGUST 31, 2022

**  Doug Mastrianio:  Pa's Confederate in the attic.  (That Pennsylvania governor thing again.  A play on words of a popular Civil War book, "Confederates in the Attic.")

**  West Point has a KKK plaque mounted above entrance to Science Hall.

********************************

SEPTEMBER 2, 2022

There are many articles, but I only list the new ones or ones that give more information on one.

**  CAIR supports call to drop Confederate names from Naval Academy.  (Those Islamic folks again.  I wonder what they call for in regards to 9/11?)

********************************

SEPTEMBER 3, 2022

**  Federal lawsuit seeks removal of Confederate statue outside  Georgetown courthouse.

**  Contents of Macon Confederate statue time capsules.  (Georgia.  About the only good thing coming from these removals.)

West Point and Annapolis Confederate Names. That Mastriano Thing Still

AUGUST 30, 2022

**  Reparations, and a lawsuit on NC Confederate  statue removal.  (North Carolina)

**  Military commission recommends dropping Confederate names at West Point.

**  West Point and Naval Academy  should scrub names of Confedrate officers, panel tells Congress.

**  Replace  Navy ship's Confederate name with that of immigrant oceanographer.

*****************************

AUGUST 31, 2022

**  Republicans endorse Shapiro following  Mastriano Confederate uniform.  (Pennsylvania.  How dumb can you be?)

**  Doug Mastriano's Confederate  cosplay  is dumb and dangerous.  (MSNBC News.  That surprises me that they would say something like that.)

Wearing a Confederate Uniform Is Definitely Not a Crime Even If It Offends Certain Folks

AUGUST 28, 2022

**  It is unbelievable how many articles are out there about Doug Mastriano who is running for Pennsylvania governor and in the past wore a Confederate uniform.  Big whoop.  What's so bad about that?

**  Some Pennsylvania Republicans defend Mastriano for posing in Confederate uniform.  (So who is going to be offended?  WWMs, BLMers, NAACPers and SPLCers.)

**  The photo in question was taken in 2013-2014 and others were also in battle clothes from different eras.

**************************

AUGUST 29, 2022

**  Mayor speaks about racist letters spread in Enfield just days  after Confederate monument bulldozed.  (North Carolina.  What the mayor had done to the monument was nothing short of racism.)

**   Military commission recommends dropping Confederate names at West Point.

About Those 'Fair' Trials, Alabama, Fort Benning, Fort Gordon and Military Academies

DECEMBER 2, 2021

**  Prosecutor:  Confederate statue doesn't have to be moved for Black man to get fair trial.  (Winchester, Clarke County, Virginia.  I tell you, they just keep getting dumber.)

**  Montgomery, Alabama,  fined for replacing  Confederate street name with Civil Rights tribute.

**  Fort Benning and Fort Gordon to be renamed.  (Georgia)

**  CCSO investigating Confederate monument vandalism.  (Murray, Calloway County, Kentucky.  Callloway County Sheriff's Office.  Again, this is not vandalism.  It is a hate crime.)

*****************************************

DECEMBER 3, 2021

**  'We just feel it':  Racism plagues  U.S. military academies.  (Washington Post)

**  Fort Gordon one step closer to being renamed.  (Georgia)

**  Fort Benning  name suggestions officially closed; over 34,000 submissions received.  (Georgia)

Confederate Railroad's Back! Ignore It. Oscar Wilde, The Post's So Proud of Virginia, West Point's Buffalo Soldiers

SEPTEMBER 3, 2021

**  Confederate Railroad and EllieMae Millenkamp looking forward to Petersburg.  (Iowa.  Country group Confederate Railroad has come under a lot of fire from certain folks because of their name and use of Confederate flags on their logo.  They had several concerts in Illinois canceled because of it.)

**  EEOC:  Applebee's told Black line cook to 'ignore' co-workers wearing Confederate  flag gear.  (Exactly right.  That would be the thing to do.  Maybe the black line cook should wear BLM stuff.)

********************************

SEPTEMBER 5, 2021

**  James Gill:  Who was Oscar Wilde's favorite American?  Turns out he was a Confederate.  (Jefferson Davis)

**  Two recent decisions  put Virginia on the right side of history and morality.  (Washington Post of course.  One was the pardon of the Martinsville Seven and taking down the Lee statue.  Big surprise the Post would say something like this.  However, they were right in the pardon of the Martinsville Seven.)

**  West Point will unveil a statue honoring a group of black soldiers.  (Buffalo soldiers.  I am very happy to see this happening.  They deserve to be honored.  I'd love to see the Army bring them back as an all-Black unit.  Talk about esprit de corps.)

Defense Department Visits West Point, The Mayor Speaks, Confederate Is a Proper Name and Needs to Be Capitalized

MAY 22, 2021

**  Defense Department commission  plans initial visits to  10 military sites with Confederate  names.

**  Commission reviewing  military base names to visit West Point  next week.  (Looking at any and everything Confederate-connected.)

**********************************

MAY 23, 2021

**  I needed to lead my city, but I needed to apologize first.  (Sad R. mayor.  He's a major reason why it's Sad R.)

**  Local confederate monument (Confederate) is relocated  from courthouse.  (Columbus, Mississippi.  Come on WCBI, Confederate is a proper name.)

**  Just rename the bases  honoring Confederates already.

**  Funding approved for changes to Jackson County's confederate (Confederate) monument.  (Come on Southern Scoop, Confederate is a proper name.)

**  Monument decision  maintains 'status quo.'  (North Carolina)

Talking 'Bout Them Insurgents, CNN, Fort Bragg, West Point, Rolling Stone and Skeeters

JANUARY  8. 2021

**  Before Wednesday, insurgents waving Confederate flags hadn't been within six miles of the US Capitol.  (CNN.  Imagine CNN with these headlines.  Only the last time, those "insurgents" might have done far worse than these "insurgents" did.  And, there would have been many more than two (I'm guessing) Confederate flags there.)

**  Pentagon begins process to rename bases like Fort Bragg due to Confederacy link.

**  Defense secretary  appoints four to commission on renaming  military bases that honor Confederates.  (Just PLEASE, please, please DON'T rename every one for a black person.  I wouldn't mind one named for Colin Powell or Jackie Robinson.  But, under today's situation every one of them will be named after a black person.)

**  New law requires West Point to rename dorm, roads and gate named for Confederate generals.  (Lee Barracks, also a road and gate named for Lee.  Also a road named for Beauregard.  Just don't name them all for Blacks.)

**  Lock him up.  (Rolling Stone magazine on Trump after the riot.  Well, if Rolling Stone says so, it must be so.)

**  Opinion:  A disgrace for the history books:  Even before  the Civil War, better leaders prevented chaos in the Capitol.

**  Mississippi governor to sign law Monday for new state flag.  (Well, if they had to change it, at least they got a good looking one.  I still kind of like the one with the mosquito.  They sure have a lot of them in Louisiana.)

Fort Robinson Has a Good Ring to It. Hey, Return the Armstrong Gun to Fort Fisher. What to Do With Those Sad Richmond Statues

AUGUST 4, 2020

**  Army should rename  Texas' Fort Hood for baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson.  (At first, I thought absolutely not.  But then I read that he had been an officer in the Army during World War II and had to battle segregation and racism there as well.  He is a very deserving man.  And, along with Colin Powell as a name for the Confederate bases, I'd support the change right away.  Otherwise, when they change the base names I would like any that will be renamed for Blacks to have a five year wait as tempers are too frayed right now.)

**  Gillibrand urges removal of Confederate symbols at West Point.  (Democrat New York senator and white woman.  Hey, Senator, how about removing that 150-pounder Armstrong cannon at West Point as it was a captured Confederate weapon.  I know a great place to send it to in North Carolina.)

************************************

August 5, 2020

**  Richmond City Council to accept offers for possession of Confederate monuments.  (Sad Richmond has decided not to put the statues up elsewhere in the city.  Now the only one remaining is of A.P. Hill.  Also there is the question of what to do with the pedestals they were on.

They should offer them to the SCV or UDC.  But the city, or better yet, the mayor or BLM, should pay for repairs and cleaning along with moving and new location expenses.  Personally, I would like every single thing to do with the Confederacy out of this place, especially since I don't think I'll ever even drive through there again.  Traffic is horrendous anyway and now the city has done this.   And, they should just turn the American Civil War Museum into an American Black Experience museum which is essentially what it is anyhow.)

Just have history books say that the Confederate capital was moved somewhere northward.  Don't even mention the name.

Even then, however, comes the problem of protecting them from BLM in their new locations.

Civil War II: Are We in the Midst of a Civil War? Even in Michigan, Protests Erupt in Violence in Texas, West Point

JULY 27, 2020

**  Protesters push for Confederate statue removal.  (Allendale Township, Michigan.)

**  Competing rallies meet in downtown St. Augustine over removal of Confederate monument.  (Florida)

**  Judge says Confederate monument will be removed after protest groups clash in Weatherford.  (Texas.  There was definitely the possibility of violence there.)

**  The history behind Confederate monuments in America.   (Channel 5 NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.  A very fair assessment of the history.  Not one-sided at all.  When I saw it was going to be a UNC-Greensboro professor talking about it, I wasn't sure, but he was fair.  Well worth watching.)

**  Violence breaks out between pro & anti Confederate demonstrators  Weatherford.  (Texas.  Several videos accompanied the article. Watch them.  There were idiots on both sides, but tempers are flaring on both sides, not just in Weatherford, but all over.)

**  Bill would require  renaming West Point dorm, roads, gate named for Confederate generals.  (Too bad.  These names were okay for so long, but now with BLM, not okay.)

**  Rick Roberts:  "These people  are trying to take your country away from you."  (WBAP AM News Talk.  Conservative view  point but says  the country is in the midst of a civil war and it is heating up.  Blames the Democrats and BLM.  Worth a listen.)

It Has to Stop.  Step 1:   Confederate Statues on Public Property Must Be Removed and in a Dignified Way (and No Protesters Partying  Over It.  Step 2:  The Deglorification of BLM and Revealing What It Really Is.  Maybe Rename Them the Brown Shirts.

This way, both sides get something.

More Venom from the NY Times, The Final End of the Lost Cause, West Point, NCAA and More Flags

JUNE 20, 2010

**  Why is the GOP fighting to preserve monuments to traitors in the Capitol?  (From the New York Times.  Not a surprising slant from them.  The Times and Washington Post seem to be the two newspapers with the most Confederate hatred venom.)

**  The controversy surrounding the removal of Confederate statues.

**  Rep. Mahoney asks Army to remove Confederate symbols at West Point.  (I'd like to see them remove that 150-pound Armstrong cannon the U.S. Army captured at Fort Fisher, N.C., and return it to that site.  Come on Rep. Mahoney!!!!)

**  Editorial:  The final end of the Lost Cause.  (You can say that again.  George Floyd "done" us in.)

**  NCAA bans Mississippi championships over Confederate symbol in state flag.  (They won't have any NCAA championships in the state.  Maybe they should be more interested in all the cheating that occurs in their Power Five conferences, though.)

**  Athens County Fair Board should ban Confederate flags.
