Here Is a List of Base Renamings-- Part 3: Fort Bragg Becomes Fort Liberty

Fort Bragg will become Fort Liberty whichbreaks the tradition of naming bases after people.  Like someone's comment on in this renaimg, "Fort Liberty Bibberty."

**  NYC fort renames street for Vietnam War  Infantryman.  (Fort Hamilton renamed Robert E. Lee Avenue for 1st Lt. John Warren.  A Medal of Honor recipient who was killed in Vietnam.  A deserving person, but also a black person.  Why do so many renamed things have to be of black people?)

**  CAIR welcomes Virginia town's decision to drop Confederate name for reservoir.  (Culpeper, Virginia.  Again, not sure why an organization like that would be involved with the Confederate thing when so many terrorists are Islamic.)

**  Fort Fisher could join Fort Bragg in getting  new, non-Confederate  namesake.  (North Carolina.  They won't be renaming the actual fort, which was built during the war.  They are looking at renaming the Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area in Kure Beach.)

**  Erasing Confederate items from U.S. military will cost $62 million, panel says.  (Again, let those who the names changed pay for it.)

**  14 Confederate street names  changed with Fairfax  City Council vote.  (Virginia  One was Scarlet Circle.  I fail to see what that has to do with the Confederacy.  Maybe Scarlett O'Hara?  Also changed was Traveler Street.  Lee's horse?  Of course, most likely they'll all be renamed for black people.)

**  Feds seek prison for Capitol rioter who had Confederate flag.  (The fact he was in the Capitol under those circumstances should be enough for prison time.  The fact he had THAT particular flag shouldn't be the main concern.  But, let's face it, it does bug certain groups.  And, if the Jan. 6 folks were rioters, what were the BLMers back in 2020 when they did all that burning and looting.  Were they rioters?  Or worse?)

**  Commission:  Fort Belvoir's name remains, for now.  (Virginia.  Not a Confederate general, but named after a plantation and all that entails.  You know.)

**  Renaming of Fort Bragg:  List of potential new names released.  (North Carolina  This article in the Fayetteville Observer also has a list of all 87 names under consideration.  Colin Powell is the only one  O originally recommended.)

I will write down my four recommendations in the next post.
