Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

*********************************

JUNE 18, 2022

**  Tyrrel County activists want  Confederate monument removed.  (North Carolina.  How do you get to be an activist anyway?)

**  Luke Combs addresses  Confederate flag controversy in new interview.  (Luke Combs is a big country music star.  Someone saw a Confederate guitar in an old video and, of course, had a hissy-fit.)

**  Mayor Curry will continue pushing  for Confederate monument removal.  (That Jacksonville, Florida mess.)

**  Northam to remove Lee statue pedestal, transfer land to city.  (Virginia's governor.)

**  City removes mysterious new statue from site of former  Dallas Confederate  memorial.  (Dallas, Texas.  It was also removed.)

**  Nation's largest Muslim civil rights group voices support  for removing Tuskegee's Confederate monument. (Alabama.  That's a good one.  Islamic civil rights?  I kind of doubt it.)

******************************

DECEMBER 15, 2021

**  Pennsylvania revises  Confederate markers, recasts them as 'enemy' soldiers.  (Maybe Southern states should revise markers and put up new ones recounting the horrors civilians faced from Union occupation units.)

**  The chance to rename Brooklyn's General Lee Avenue is here.  (New York.

****************************

**  Bartow's Confederate  marker moves to Oak Hill Cemetery.  (Florida.  Removed in secrecy.)

The Second Civil War: Virginia, Louisiana, Maryland and South Carolina

MAY 9, 2021

**  Confederate monument in Isle of Wight moved.  (Virginia)

**  Confederate signs removed from the city.  (Picayune, Louisiana.  At least one was a historical marker.)

**  Talbot Boys defenders fault federal lawsuit, says it will hurt county.  (Maryland)

***********************************

MAY 10, 2021

**  Confederate flags put in place then removed where Confederate monument was in Isle of Wight County.  (Virginia.  Those horrible, horrible flags, you know.)

By the way.  This Confederate monument was removed to private property and the citizens of the county paid the $32,000 to do it.  I still say those who want it removed should pay all expenses to do it.)

**  South Carolina to observe Confederate Memorial Day.  (You reckon some folks are going to be up in arms about that?)

Why Are Some Media Outlets and Courts So Racist? Sad R., Tampa Bay, Montgomery, Schools, Judicial Question and Maryland

MAY 7, 2021

**  Overlooked:  Confederate marker on South Richmond courthouse lawn.  (Richmond Free Press, a notoriously anti-anything Confederate publication.  Obviously, they want it gone.)

**  Editorial:  Quit using  Florida law to celebrate Confederate traitors.  (Tampa Bay Times)

**  Input sought on Confederate name changes in Montgomery schools.  (Alabama.  Please don't just name them all after Blacks.)

**  Court orders upstate  woman to remove Confederate flag or risk custody of child.  (Thompkins County, New York.  Must remove a rock with Confederate flag on it or might lose custody of her multi-racial daughter.  The judicial system overstepping its boundaries.)

**  Lawsuit seeks Confederate statue removal from Talbot County court house.  (Maryland.  NAACP, what a big surprise.)

We Need More Black History Markers. You Want It Gone, You Pay For It. South Carolina, Islam, UDC, Statue Removal, Jim Crow Era, Michigan Capitol and Black History Markers

FEBRUARY 7, 2021

**  Group calls on SC to discontinue  license plates  featuring Confederate flag.  (Let's see, you think it might be a black group?  Let's see.  It was CAIR, Council on American-Islamic Relations.  Not necessarily Blacks.  I wonder what they have to say about 9/11?)

**  Confederate statue in Dalton related to previous protests removed and relocated.  (Georgia.  General Joseph E. Johnston.  Moved to a private museum.  This paid for by UDC and they shouldn't have had to pay for it.  As I have said before, if you want it gone, put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is.)

**  How an ex-slave and a Confederate hero joined forces during  the Jim Crow era.  (A very interesting story about a new book about the case of a poor black farmer George Dinning charged with murder in Kentucky in the postwar South was defended by Bennett H. Young, a Confederate hero.  Well worth a read.)

**  New bill would ban Confederate flag at Michigan's Capitol.  (Introduced by a black state senator.  Also backing a bill making Juneteenth a state holiday.  Kind of racist sounding.)

**  Column:   A son of the South, here's why  I grew up to no longer  'look away' from Dixie's cruel past.

**  Black history underestimated in public markers.  (I agree with this statement.  Blacks have accomplished many notable achievements and should be recognized.  Especially those who overcame Jim Crow restrictions.

Of Course, When It Comes to Historical Markers of Any Sort, I Am All in Favor of Them.  --Old Secesh

Confederadication: Arkansas, Confederate heroes Day, SCV, U.S. Capitol Arrests, Kentucky

JANUARY 17, 2021

**  Arkansas leaders propose bill to repeal Confederate Flag Day.

**  Abolish Confederate Heroes Day:  Texas lawmaker  reintroduces bill after 'white supremacist' U.S. Capitol riots.  (Jarvis Johnson, a black man.    Wonder what his stand on the BLM riots in Texas was back this past summer?    Nothing racist about his statement, is there?)

**  Members of Sons of Confederate Veterans celebrate Lee-Jackson Day in Lexington.  (Virginia)

**  Far-right video blogger, man with Confederate flag among latest Capitol siege arrests.  (As well as all those who entered the Capitol should be arrested.  And anyone proven to have caused damage or a confrontation should especially be pursued.  I just hope authorities continue this policy when BLM start their riots when the weather warms up.)

**  Confederate marker's relocation stalls;  WKU tight-lipped about renaming colleges.  (Bowling Green, Kentucky,  Western Kentucky University.  The marker is for Bowling Green being named the Confederate capital of the state.

The school is also looking into changing the names of two WKU colleges:  Potter College of Arts and Letters and the Ogden College of Science and Engineering because these two men owned slaves.  Ridiculous.)

**********************************

**  Historic homeowners say they have not been contacted about Confederate  marker's relocation.  (Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Bowling Green was named the state capital of the Confederate state of Kentucky in 1861.  The marker originally was on the campus of Western Kentucky University, but taken down amid BLM and white minion uproar.)

**  Historian gives solutions for Alabama Confederate monument.  (Gadsden, Alabama.  Emma Samsun monument.  Leave monument but put up contextual signs around it.)

********************************************

NOVEMBER 8, 2020

**  Confederate statue at courthouse removed.  (Douglas County)

**  Richmond's mayor took down Confederate monuments this summer.  That  move may have vaulted him to another term in office.  (Sad R.  I think he should be in jail instead of another term in office especially in regards to his good buddy deal for statue removal.  Such a radical is he.)

**  Daughters of the Confederacy remain silent as deadline approaches.  (Daviess County)

**  Sign of the Times:  NCDOT wants  Jefferson Davis  Highway markers gone.  (North Carolina)

Civil War II, Nov. 1: N.C., Georgia and Emmett Till

Alerts for Confederate Nov. 1, 2019.

**  Confederate statue remains in Chatham County.  (Pittsboro, N.C.)

**  As NC reckons with Confederate monuments, marker in Georgia supplies historical context.  As in they were fighting for slavery.  I am very willing to have these context markers put up as long as the statues remain.

**  Why the Emmett Till memorial briefly sat in front of the Confederate monument.  The Emmett Till marker has been repeatedly vandalized, most often with bullets because of its way out in the country location.  This is nothing short of a hate crime and if the offenders are apprehended, they should be charged as such.

I consider desecration to Confederate statues a hate crime as well.  Offenders should be treated as such.

**  Civil War Medal of Honor recipient reburied at veterans cemetery.  (Not CW II)

**  Relocating statues at University of Texas campus won't change our history.

**  'Never to return':  Greenspace wants Confederate statues out of Shelby County.

**  Author dismisses concept of Black Confederate soldiers.

**  Two hot topics:  a ruling regarding Confederate statues in Memphis and residency requirements.

**  Franklin's new historical markers reflect African Americans in city's Civil War legacy.
