Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

About the Forrest Removal, Birmingham's Law-Breaking Mayor, the NFL's Jaguars and Washington and Lee University and the Problem With College Professors

JUNE 4, 2021

**  Man who waved Confederate  flag at removal of KKK founder's remains under investigation.   (Memphis, Tennessee.  Newsweek magazine.  Looks like Newsweek would know that Confederate is a proper name.  Of course, no mention was made of Memphis' highly questionable action to get rid of the monument in the first place.  Plus, the SCV is paying for the removal and that should have been paid for by those who want it gone.)

**  'It was the best decision':  Mayor Woodfin reflects on decision to remove confederate (Confederate) monument one year later.  Birmingham, Alabama.  Looks like WBRC 6  would know that Confederate is a proper name and should be capitalized.  The mayor said the people were demonstrating and trying to pull the statue down, when they were actually rioting.)

**  Jaguars  to buy uniforms for four schools  getting rid of confederate (Confederate) names.  (Jacksonville, Florida, Jaguars NFL team.  Looks like they would know that Confederate is a proper name and needs to be capitalized.)

**  Fort Smith sued for flag removal; new state monuments law cited.  (Arkansas)

*********************************

JUNE 5, 2021

**  NC appeals court halts removal of Confederate monument.  (Sad Asheville.  The Vance monument.)

**  Washington and Lee University to keep Confederate name.  (Virginia.  But they will change names on campus.  Faculty members voted last July to change the name.  Having college professors do any kind of judgement on the Confederacy is always bad.  Let's just say they are more than a little bit prejudiced.)

Georgia, Braggin' Rights? Washington's Confederate Flag, Birmingham, Charlottesville and Army Bases

JUNE 1, 2021

**  Civil War  Memorial task force makes new recommendations  on Forsyth Confederate monuments.  (Georgia)

**  Confederate heritage is nothing to Bragg about.  (Ha Ha. Bragg!  Get It?)

**  Confederate flag flies over  Spokane on Sunday, here's what we know.  (Washington)

**  Mayor recalls  Confederate monument  removal, turmoil in Linn Park.  (Birmingham, Alabama)

**  Opinion:  Some memorials  are to remind us of our flaws.

**  Tour of Confederate monuments in Charlottesville.  (Virginia)

**  Renaming US  Army bases should start with America's unrecognized  veterans.  (Time.  Just don't name all of the bases after Blacks.)

Renaming Schools, Mobile, Birmingham, A Virginia Without a Lee? Semmes and Is It Vandalism or A Hate Crime?

JUNE 18, 2020

**  Maury High and two other Norfolk schools named for Confederates could be renamed.  (Virginia.  Again, if the majority of the students at these schools are Black, I'm all for it.)

**  Mobile mayor, descendants battle over monument's fate.

**  Watch:  Inciting  to riot charge against Germaine 'FunnyMaine' Johnson dropped.  (Birmingham, Ala.  Of course, in Birmingham there would be no way he'd be charged with that racist mayor of theirs.   I sure would have liked to have seen video of him doing what he was accused of doing.)

**  Can Richmond imagine a future without Robert E. Lee?  (Looks like they will find out about it.  There will also be nothing to do with the Confederacy in their future either.  Now the American Civil War Museum can be turned into the American Civil War Black Museum as their people desire.)

********************************

JUNE 19, 2020

**  Army should look to Navy for renaming bases.

**  Opinion:  Stop memorializing  the Confederacy and start owning Texas history.

**  Mayor says he removed the Semmes statue to keep it from being destroyed.  (And a big thanks to Mobile's mayor for doing that.  This needs to be done to every single Confederate monument in the United States.  This is the only way to keep the BLMers and their white minions from destroying them.  After all, the police just watch them doing their hate crimes to the statues.

I fully support removing them for "public safety."  I also support every state with the Confederate monument protection laws to have them waived for "public safety."

**  Confederate monument in Little Rock  vandalized with unknown chemical.  (As I said before, this is not "vandalism" but a Hate Crime.  I wish the media would quit calling it vandalism.)

Renaming Would Be a Travesty, Army Bases, Confederate Flags, Mobile, Removal and Monuments

JUNE 16, 2020

**  Head of SC Confederate group  says debate to rename American military bases a 'travesty.'  (Though, I can go with this renaming.  After all, these men FOUGHT against the United States as it were.  However, renaming is going to be expensive and those costs should be borne by those who want the names changed.  No public money should be involved.)

**  New push to rename Army bases named after Confederate generals.

**  Ohio House rejects amendment prohibiting Confederate flag at county fairs.  (Ohio Democrats proposed it.  Big surprise.  The Republican majority voted it down.)

**  Alabama AG:  Mobile illegally removed Semmes monument, pays fine.  (Well, if Birmingham had to pay a fine, so should Mobile.  Only, the Mobile removal of the Semmes statue was not done in a fit of hatred like in Birmingham.  It was done for public safety since police evidently are not allowed to stop BLMers and their white minions from attacking the statues.  I am now in favor of removing every Confederate monument on public land and putting them somewhere safe from the lawless "protesters."

**  Bacon:  US military installations honoring Confederates must be renamed.  (Republican Representative from Nebraska.)

**  Bring them down.

**  Bastrop County judge:  Removing Confederate monuments  would be "counterproductive.'

**  Confederate monument in Alabama partially removed.

June 4, 2020

**  George Floyd protests  renew calls to scrap Confederate emblem from Mississippi flag.

**  Cities remove racist monuments  before protesters can topple them.   (Wouldn't "protesters" toppling statues be a hate crime?)

**  Protesters damage businesses, monument in downtown Birmingham.  (Well, Birmingham.  What else can I say.  Is it still a protest when they break into a business and loot it?)

***********************************

Bubba Gets His Way and a Confederate Statue "Attacks" Portsmouth Man

June 11, 2020

**  NASCAR says it will ban Confederate flags.  (See what Bubba Wallace started.  As usual, all it takes is one black person protesting to get their way.  Hopefully, the sport's fan base will show what they think of this decision and attendance will drop even more.  But, maybe they will make up for that loss with increased black attendance.)

***************************************

**  Man injured in toppling a Confederate statue.  (Portsmouth, Virginia.  June 11, 2020, NBC News.  Hope he doesn't die, but sounds like he was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.  Now, he should be arrested for a hate crime.  No doubt, BLM will be adding Confederate statues attacking rioters to their list of Confederate hatred.

My big question is why were the police not breaking up the riot and making arrests.  Had they been doing this, he might not have gotten hurt.

It was all one big hate party, even with a band playing, till the "accident" took place.  Yep, everybody always has a good time until that statue you're illegally toppling falls on somebody.  I especially liked the one young lady in the video who was having the time of her life before the statue landed on the rioter, and then she wasn't having as much fun anymore.

Make sure you view the video.

I found this in another account of the incident from the June 11, 2020, Washington Examiner:

"On June 1, University of Alabama at Birmingham professor Sarah Parcak spent hours on Twitter detailing how to topple a monument properly, but the Portsmouth protesters did not heed her directions."

Can you believe she still has a job?  Imagine a professor doing something like that.  Well, you know Birmingham.  What would you expect?  Especially with a mayor who openly broke the law.

Moral to This Story:  Don't Stand in Front of Statues You're Toppling.  --Old Secesh

A World War I Statue Hit in Birmingham. Also, Richmond, Mobile and the Military

These are newspaper and media headlines so you can search them.

June 6, 2020

**  Removal of Confederate statue provokes strong, mixed reactions in Mobile.

**  From bumper-stickers to T-shirts, Confederate  flags now officially off-limits for Marines.

**  City erupts.  (Richmond, Va., Richmond Free Press)

**  Another one:  Confederate statue brought down under cover of darkness.

**  Birmingham statue's creator hopes old wounds heal.  (About the Linn statue.)

**  Military leaders:  We must uphold justice and liberty for all.

**  Floyd death pushes military to  face 'own demons' on race.

**  World War I memorial in Birmingham vandalized during Sunday night riots, removed by city.

Confederate Monuments Coming Down Fast and Those Not Coming Down Have Been Severely "Vandalized"

June 3, 2020

**  Confederate monument removed  after Birmingham mayor's vow to 'finish the job.'

**  Confederate monuments come down:  Alexandria statue removed, as 'Black Lives Matter' written on others.  The statue was of a Confederate soldier and it was taken down by its owners, the UDC.  This article has an update of other anti-Confederate actions taking place around the nation in the wake of the George Floyd murder.

** Protesters in some cities target Confederate monuments.   Another list of monuments that have had hate crimes committed.

**  Mobile cleans vandalized Confederate statue, Birmingham removes theirs.  The statue was of Confederate Admiral Raphael Semmes, commander of the famous cruiser CSS Alabama.

**  Confederate monuments coming down around South amid protests.  (Also the statue in Norfolk, Virginia, was "vandalized."

This Is Horrible.  0--Old Secesh

The Confederacy Under Attack: Birmingham, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tampa Salisbury

June 1, 2020

I will try to get caught up on the Second Civil War since the beginning of June.  These attacks on the Confederacy and Confederate statues in particular  have gone into overdrive since the George Floyd tragedy.

You can bring up most of these by just typing in what I typed.

**  Birmingham mayor orders removal of Confederate monument  in public park.

**  Confederate monuments haunt American democracy.

**  Chancellor commits to Confederate statue relocation.  (University of Mississippi)

**  Now is the time to end Confederate holiday, Alabama Congresswoman says as protests rock the state.  (She is a black woman.)

**  Confederate monument in Bentonville square to be moved.  (Arkansas)

**  Protesters tear down statue, damage Confederate  monument in Alabama.  (They were rioters and in the process of committing a hate crime.  This was the statue in Birmingham.)

**  Group takes down huge Confederate flag in Tampa.  (The local SCV flies it and they also took it down.  This was after word of a possible protest to be held at the site to take the flag down.)

**  The latest:  Birmingham begins removing Confederate monument.

**  Shots fired, two arrested following argument with Confederate group at BLM protest in Salisbury.  North Carolina    (Sadly, the shots were fired into the air by a member of the Confederate group  We do not need this sort of counter protest.  Hopefully he will be charged and tried.)

Now, Some More of Virginia? Still, Silent Sam

February 17,2020

**  Bills raise questions about some of Southwest Virginia's own Confederate  symbols.  (11/9-10/38)

**  New Alabama monuments bill puts Birmingham mayor on the spot.

***************************************

February 18, 2020

**  Confederate-inspired statue features young black man.  (Richmond, Va.  The new one in front of the art museum.

**  Teaching Confederate monuments.

**  Confederate monuments, memory and history.

**  A little real talk about Silent Sam.

**  UNC will not challenge the judge's order tossing out the Silent Sam settlement.  (OK, judge, when will you or someone in authority order the police to start arresting the UNC students and faculty responsible for tearing the statue down.  I would also like the judge to make a ruling on the legality of the UNC students and faculty for their tearing down the statue.  Is it legal to tear something down you don't like?)

UNC wants Silent Sam returned to campus, but hasn't said what they would do with it.  Obviously, the statue can't be put back up as the students and faculty will just commit hate crimes against it.

The Second Civil War: Statues, Statues, Statues, a School and a Band

February 15, 2020

**  Costello:  The Confederate war memorial--Let it be.  (Loudon County, Va.  The Democratic-controlled board of supervisors, headed by Phylis J. Randall, a black woman, wants to remove the monument.)

**  Confederate statues in the State Capitol remain unaddressed.  (Richmond, Va. Free Press, a black newspaper.--  There are Confederate statues and busts inside it and outside of it.  Needless to say, they want them all gone.  Of course, once the bill is signed, they will be taken down.)

**  Wiley statue in Richmond bridges both Confederate and black urban styles.  (They can put up their statues and take down ours.)

**  Richmond dedicates Barack Obama Elementary School, formerly named for Confederate commander.  (J.E.B. Stuart--  I support renaming any school named after a Confederate serving primarily black students.)

**  County ups the ante in search for art to replace controversial Confederate statue.  (Gainesville, Florida--  This will cost the county $40,000.  Cost to have kept the Confederate statue would have been $0.)

**  Birmingham's mayor criticizes law protecting Confederate monuments, says one should not exist in America's fourth blackest city.  (Big surprise, the mayor is a black man.  Who's racist now?

By the way, this article in Newsweek was accompanied by a 45 second video of the UNC students committing the hate crime against the Silent Sam statue.  They seemed really happy at the time, but not so happy when the bill came.

**  Night Ranger and Confederate Railroad play Marathon tomorrow.  (Marathon in the Florida Keys.  Old Toilets can't do anything about it as it is out of his jurisdiction.)

Silent Sam Back in the News and Virginia's Confederate Statue Removal Bill

February 14, 2020

**  What happens next to the Confederate monument Silent Sam?

**  Judge overturns UNC's agreement giving Silent Sam statue to pro-Confederate group.  (charloFrom that Confederate-hating Washington Post.  They must be rejoicing there on the editorial floor.)

**  State lawmakers approve Confederate statue removal bill:  So what happens next?  (I have not seen that the governor has signed it yet.)

**  How Ole Miss Athletics help push out Confederate traditions.  (Actually a very fair appraisal of the situation.)

**  Birmingham mayor fights to remove Confederate monuments.  (Remember, the mayor is a black man.  Who'd figure?)

**  In victory for students, court rescinds $2.5 million settlement over UNC's Confederate statue.  (And remember, they were the ones who committed the hate crime by illegally tearing Silent Sam down.  And, on top of it, no arrests have been made, none have been expelled from school.  Now, they want justice?)

**  Hearing continued for two charged with vandalizing Confederate statue.  (Charlottesville, Va--  Being arrested for such action had to come as a shock to them.  Why isn't the other side crying foul on this?)

**  Virginia Democrats at odds over terms of Confederate statue removals.  (Glad to see this removal is not just going to be a feeding frenzy, gloating thing, hopefully.)

UNC Settlement Voided, Woodfin Doesn't Like Confederate Monuments, That Kirby Smith Statue, More Statue "Vandalism"

February 13, 2020

**  Judge voids UNC's controversial settlement over Confederate statue 'Silent Sam.'  (Unbelievable when contrasted with the lack of arrests and convictions for the people committing the hate crime when the statue was torn down.  Where's the justice?  Now the guilty people who are  so mad about the settlement are getting what they want.)

**  Virginia inches closer to bringing down Confederate statues.

**  Here's what Randall Woodfin had to say about Confederate monuments.  (Birmingham, Alabama, mayor.  He is a black man so doesn't like Confederate monuments.)

**  Photo of students with swastika and Confederate flag roils Riverside school. (Martin Luther King High School, California     I hate to see a swastika alongside a Confederate flag.  It is hard enough to fight this losing war as it is without being compared to that German group.)

**  Protest over confederate statue leads to woman being removed from meeting.  (Lake Mary, Florida--   Statue of Confederate General Kirby Smith which used to stand in the U.S. Capitol and has been removed and headed for the historical museum has people not wanting it there.  Protesters were carrying posters against the statue in a silent protest.  I am wondering what the protester did to be removed by police.  By the way, Fox 51, WOGX, Confederate is spelled with a capital "C."

**  Pair pleads not guilty in Confederate statue vandalism.  (Bentonville, Arkansas--   The two are White.  Again, doing this to a Confederate statue is not vandalism.  It is a hate crime.)

**  Letter:  Confederate soldiers were no heroes.

**  Neo-Confederate attorney accused of mishandling clients' money promoted online trolling, harassment. (With League of the South.  This is from the Southern Poverty Law Center so this organization's anti-Confederate stance is well-known.)

The Confederacy Under Attack: Birmingham, Chicago, Virginia, Washington Post

January 25, 2020

**  Birmingham (Alabama) fined over panels around Confederate monument.

**  Chicago man says HD Supply allowed racist figurine to be displayed.  (A black man was offended by a figurine in a warehouse.  All it takes in one person to be offended by a Confederate symbol of any sort to start problems.  I wish my feelings counted as much.)

**  Rep. McEachin a 'Johnny-come-lately' on removing Confederate statues.  (Virginia)

**  It's time for Virginia to retire Lee-Jackson Day.  (Washington Post  This newspaper is taking the lead in Confederate-hating.)

Poor, Poor Lawbreaking Birmingham, MLK or Confederate, Who came First?

January 19, 2020

**  Alabama court won't reconsider Confederate monument ruling.  (Birmingham, Alabama.  They put up plywood around it and the court ruled that this went against state law protecting military memorials.  I feel so sorry for Birmingham.)

**  This MLK weekend , Texas will again recognize Confederate Heroes  Day.  (Well, at least it was an opinion piece.  Who had the day first?)

**  Lee working to amend Confederate general proclamation.  (Lee is not Robert E. but the Tennessee governor.  He does not want to do a proclamation for Nathan Bedford Forrest.)

**  Confederate Heroes Day ceremony in Longview honors ancestors' dedication.  (Texas)

**  Fight over Lakeland's Confederate monument goes to federal court.  (Florida.  It has already been relocated at a cost of $185,000.)

Birmingham, Alabama, Is Mad, Confederate Holidays Under Attack, Virginia

January 18, 2010

**  Alabama Supreme Court won't rehear Confederate monument case.  City of Birmingham covered Confederate monument in plywood.

**  Confederate holidays have been in Ky law for nearly 100 years.  This bill will change that.  Would strike Robert E.Lee Day (Jan. 19) and Confederate Memorial Day (June 3).  Sponsored by a white state representative.

**  Photos show proposed  relocation site in Salem Cemetery for Confederate monument removed from downtown.  (Winston-Salem, NC)

**  Confederate battle flag supporters hold events as Democrats pus to remove Lee-Jackson Day.  (Lexington, Va.)  Seriously, Republicans must take back control of the state.

Confederacy Under Attack: UNC Gives "Silent Sam" to SCV

November 28, 2019

**  University of North Carolina gives 'Silent Sam' statue, toppled by protesters in 2018, to Confederate group.

**  Alabama Supreme Court rules that Birmingham cannot cover Confederate statue in Linn Park.

**  'It's a disgrace':  UNC will give Silent Sam to Sons of Confederate Veterans after suit.

**  Controversy surrounding Confederate group prompts Garner (N.C.)  to cancel Christmas parade.  People opposed to the Sons of Confederate Veterans have been making social posts against their participation so parade was canceled for fear of confrontation.

**  Even though I've already written about "Silent Sam" being turned over to the SCV twice, I couldn't help but like this headline:  "Confederate group nabs  statue toppled at UNC."  There you go, nabbing again.
