She is the black Virginia state senator from Portsmouth, Virginia, who incited the crowd to commit hate crimes on the Confederate statue. She was arrested for it (her crime) and sued the city and police chief for it and the city gave in and awarded her $300,000. How about that, You Too Can Get Paid to Commit a Hate Crime. At least she is not keeping the ill-gotten money.)

** Portsmouth spends $150K to settle with 10 charged with Confederate monument destruction. (Virginia. What these "people" did to that monument was absolutely sickening. One of the biggest cases of racism I've ever seen. These people instigated the attack and are now getting paid $15,000 each for being criminals and racists.
They claim their civil and constitutional rights were violated and their reputations sullied for their arrests. Since when is destroying public property a constitutional right?
And, then of course, there's that state senator.
This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. In other words, commit crime, get paid for it.
And, I understand, the guy who was "attacked" by the statue back then might get his cut as well.)

** Petition to recall state Sen. Louise Lucas over role in Portsmouth's Confederate monument protest gets more than 4,600 signatures. (She was so clearly a root cause for the deliberate destruction and rioting that took place there. That she would be allowed to continue as a state senator is an embarrassment to Sad Virginia. But, again, it's Virginia and what else would you expect from a state like that?)
** Reality TV stars have gotten into trouble with Confederate flag imagery. (Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing most reality TV removed itself.)

The main reason I keep writing this blog is so people see that this Confederate hatred campaign is still underway. Media doesn't cover it in depth, just in local instances most of the time. These are recent headlines that you read, with location and my comments in parentheses.

I though that people committing hate crimes like that were in line to get medals and good commendations, not prosecuted. Again, I am shocked. Okay, every so often I like to put forth this item about a major problem in Chicago (as well as in most major U.S. cities) and that is Black on Black crime, especially when it comes to shootings and murders.
Now, personally, I think this is a much bigger problem than Confederate statues and flags which, in themselves, may bring back bad memories, but, other than the statue that "fell" on the "protester" at Portsmouth, Virginia, at the behest of a Virginia state legislator, not one Confederate statue has attacked a black person. No Confederate flag has flapped a black person either.
As far as I know, this site I am using is entirely legit and uses police reports to compile their very extensive list. Well worth checking it out.
They even have maps and lots of charts and a list of neighborhoods affected by the violence. Unfortunately, it does not list specifically the race of the victims, but looking at the names and where the shootings took place, one can get an idea of who is doing all this.

** In Prince William County, Jefferson Davis Highway will soon be renamed Richmond Highway. (Virginia. Wait a minute, wasn't Richmond the capital of you-know-what. Now called Sad R.)
** President Trump vows to veto defense bill over Confederate base names. (See the first article in this post. What the Democrats and Blacks can do is take the renaming part of the bill out and wait until Trump is gone, then pass another bill to rename the bases. That will be one Biden will gladly sign. No Problem!)
** Wynonna postpones visit, Confederate Railroad to Play Branson Star. (Branson, Arkansas. Wynonna canceled because of Covid. Confederate Railroad to play instead. The last several years, Confederate Railroad has come under attack because of their name and logo. You know who is attacking them, even Illinois' Governor Toilets. Their still out there, with the name and logo. Congrats guys. But you know that you're probably on that racist group SPLC's hit list with that name and logo.

** Virginia police chief fired as felony charges dropped in Confederate vandalism case. (Portsmouth. A Virginia state senator riled a crowd to destroy a Confederate monument. Why she would still be allowed to be in the state government could only happen in a state that has descended into the depths as far as Virginia. She should be in jail. What she was trying to have happen was nothing less than a hate crime, something that is generally frowned upon unless it is against something Confederate.
Plus, obviously her devious power reaches far enough to get someone for for doing their job correctly. Only in Virginia. What has happened to Virginia?
