**  Augusta's 5th Street  Bridge could become 'Freedom Bridge,'  removing Confederate ties.  (Augusta, Georgia.  It is a pedestrian bridge.  It is now named Jefferson Davis.)

**  Man who stormed the Capitol with dad gets two years.  (About the January 6 assault on the building.  Everyone who entered the building as they did should have to pay one way or another.)

**  Son of Confederate flag-wielding rioter  sentenced to 24 months for  Jan. 6 breach.  It was indeed a riot.  However, what happened back in May-June 2020 after the Floyd murder was not called riots.)

DECEMBER 17, 2021

**  Confederate monument removed from outside Caldwell County  courthouse.  (Lockhart, Texas)

**  Confederate heritage  remains engraved  on Fifth Street bridge.  (Augusta, Georgia. Named the Jefferson Davis Memorial Bridge.  Do you think they want a name change?  Probably rename it the George Floyd Bridge after this wonderful example of a man.)

**  Who are the Sons of Confederate Veterans?  (The Nation.  A bunch of neo-Confederates.   A very negative piece.)

**  Crews may have found  1887 time capsule in Lee statue base.  (Sad R. The governor had said the pedestal would remain, but has since reversed that decision. Well, he finally did something good.  Thank you governor.  That eyesore (that he lauded) should have been taken down the same time as the statue removed.)

**  Charlottesville mural calls for local control over Confederate monuments. (Virginia  And their "Local Control" means removal.)

**  Reese Foundation weighs in on petition to rename bridge.  (Selma, Alabama  Edmund Pettus Bridge for Sen. John Lewis of Georgia.)

**  What should we do with racist monuments and buildings (UNC-Greensboro  Remove them.  Also mentions Dickinson College (Pennsylvania) renaming three buildings there that are named after advocates of slavery.)

**  Y'all Politics site in Mississippi reports a legislative bill by Sen. Seymour that requires all government organizations to fly the state flag, including colleges and universities.  It also protects private citizens who choose to fly the flag.  (You would never expect for this to be something that has to be settled by a law.  The way I look at it, if a university chooses not to fly the state flag, their public money should be cut off.  They have seceded in effect.)

Personally, I would like to have the Mississippi state flag's design put on the ballot and let the people make the decision to keep it as is or change it.

**  Case dismissed for man who challenged impacts of Confederate statue outside Clinton courthouse.  (Louisiana)  This is a real good story.

**  Confederate monuments should be removed.

**  Removal of Confederate statue outside Chatham County courthouse begins.  (Pittsboro)  Looks like another place to be added to my ever-growing boycott list.

**  Bellingham named a bridge after Confederate officer 100 years ago.  Why it's history.   Pickett Bridge is no longer that in Bellingham, Washington.

**  Museum exhibit in Lynchburg to display Confederate flag after consultation with community.  (Virginia)
