Why It's Civil War II. School, Pension Tax, That Confederate Monument Ransom, Flags and Fort Sumter

**  Atlanta school to drop Confederate general's name and honor Hank Aaron.  (Nathan Bedford Forrest)

**  A new use for Confederate pension tax.  (Alabama)

**  In Confederate monument ransom plot, New Orleans police arrest  third suspect.

**  Mayor's anti-hate  policy would impact the Confederate  flag in Richmond.  (Big surprise this happening in Sad R.  The Confederate flag banned on city property.  However he did not say anything about the equally racist BLM material.)

**  After publicly dumping  its Confederate flag, Mississippi accused of quietly  continuing 'Confederate Heritage Month."

** New legislation aims to replace Confederate Flag Day with Arkansas Day.

**  160 years later, US still fighting  over Civil War.  (Fort Sumter was fired upon April 12, 1861 and surrendered the next day.  No kidding about the war still being fought.  That is why I call this blog Civil War II.  There was a World War I and a World War II, just as there now is with the Civil War.)

What Is This Civil War II?

We had a World War I and then a World War II.  We also had a Civil War (1861-1865) which was the only Civil War until essentially those murders in Charleston, S.C. on June 17, 2015.  This is the date I consider the start of Civil War II, though it had been going on for years before that, especially with the beginning of the Civil War Sesquicentennial in 2011.

June 17, 2015 was essentially April 12, 1861, with the firing on Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor.  It started the First Civil War.

I was writing about this continuing War on the Confederacy, or Civil War II as I call it, in my Saw the Elephant: Civil War blog, the last several months with three straight days worth of what my Google Alerts said.  It gives you the continuity and severity of those attacks.  Again, just because you don't continually read about these in your local newspaper, doesn't mean they aren't happening.

However, now that I have this new blog, I can write about Civil War II right here and keep Saw the Elephant to the First Civil War.

The Confederacy Under Attack, Sept. 18, 2019-- Part 2

**  Museum around the corner: Part of historic flag.  Actually, not an attack on thee Confederacy, but about a piece of a Confederate flag that flew over the ruins of Fort Sumter in 1864 and was shot down.  I'll have to wrote about it in my Running the Blockade blog.
