Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

The USS Confederacy, Georgia Colleges, Black Confederates? No Confederate Flags in Christmas Parade

NOVEMBER 22, 2021

**  Historically Speaking:  Norwich's U.S. Navy frigate, the USS Confederacy.  (Imagine a ship with this name in the U.S. Navy, but it really was. Hopefully we won't have to go back into the past and change the name because it offends certain people.)

**  Georgia regents:  No college name  changes over racial history.  (A list of 75 names of buildings named after people involved with slavery, segregation or mistreatment of Indians.)

NOVEMBER 23, 2021

**  Heritage group honors Black men it says were Confederate veterans.  (Alabama.  48th Alabama Re-enactment group. Even though some historians say black Confederates were just a myth.)

**  Confederate flag banned from flying in Mechanicsville Christmas parade.  (Virginia.  As long as anything BLM is also banned.)

**  Confederate monuments to stay in place in Bastrop until relocation plan finalized.  (Texas)

**  Next step for Confederate names task force.  (Virginia.  You know, removing the names and renaming them for Blacks.)

MARCH 18, 2021

**  Mary McLeod Bethune statue could come to a museum  embroiled in Confederate controversy. (Lake County, Florida)

**  Public  hearing on Confederate  monuments bill draws 19 opponents, no supporters.  (West Virginia.  Bill to protect Confederate monuments.)

MARCH 19, 2021

**  Alabama attorney journal  asks courts for quick win in Madison County Confederate monument  lawsuit.

**  Maryland's  pro-Confederate state song  is close to being ditched, after repeated tries.

**  Kenny Wayne Shepherd's blues award nomination rescinded  over Confederate flag use.  (He had a "Dukes of Hazzard" General Lee car with the you-know-what on the roof.  Well, there was the name as well.  So, what does that have to do with the blues?  Gosh.)

**  Local group to explore  "Black Confederates" claim.

Still No New Attacks, But An Interesting Letter and the Last Time the Maryland General Assembly Was Shut Down

March 19, 2020

NO NEW ATTACKS ON CONFEDERATE STATUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder what has happened to their vim and verve in their cause to destroy history?  Oh yes, the big "V".

**  There were some letters to the editor.

**  One of the letters was about someone supposedly a black Confederate soldier named Louis Napoleon Nelson.

**  The Baltimore Sun had an article about the "V" closing the Maryland General Assembly and the last time was when one-third of its members were arrested by Union troops in 1861 as being Southern sympathizers and imprisoned at Fort McHenry.  This effectively stopped a possible secession for the state.

The Confederacy Under Attack, Oct. 18, 2019-- Part 2: Adding Historic Markers By Confederate Statues

**  Historic markers unveiled near Confederate statue in downtown Franklin.

To me, this is an acceptable compromise in the removal of status question.

**  'Never to return':  Greenspace wants Confederate statues out of Shelby County.

**  Author dismisses concept of Black Confederate soldiers.

**  Two hot topics:  a ruling regarding Confederate statues in Memphis and residency requirements.

**  Franklin's new historical markers reflect African Americans in city's Civil War legacy.

Heritage Attacks Continue, Oct. 15-- Part 1: "Dukes of Hazzard" Flap

From the October 15, 2019, Google Alerts for Confederate.

**  Police investigating further damage to Confederate statues.  (Charlottesville, Va.)  And guess what they're calling it.  Vandalism.  This is not vandalism.

**  Letter:  Keep Confederate  monument where it is.

**  Lt. Governor Rutherford:  Confederate plaque part of Maryland's 'complex' history.

**  John Schneider including 'Dukes of Hazzard' Confederate flag controversy in new movie.  For those of you who don't know, there are those who want the flag on the roof of their car removed.

**  'Searching for Black Confederates' unearths old arguments.

The Confederacy Under Attack, Sept. 18, 2019: Should Confederate Monuments Be Removed?

These are headlines taken from my September 18, 2019, Google Alerts for Confederate.

Many people believe that because they are not seeing these things in the news every day that maybe it has gone away.  It has definitely not gone away.

I am just giving the headline, but you can look it up on your own.

**  Where were the black Confederate soldiers?

**  Some Christians must stop worshiping the false idols of Confederate monuments.

**  Panelists at The Valentine discuss how to contextualize Confederate monuments in Richmond.
