Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

MARCH 15, 2023

**  Florida GOP proposal would ban Pride flag -- but let Confederate flag fly at state buildings.

*******************************

MARCH 17, 2023

**  These Southern National Guard units to toss  Confederate  battle streamers.

**  Two  Baltimore Confederate statues vandalized, no suspects identified.  (Maryland.  And I thought they had removed all Confederate statues.  Hey, THIS is NOT vandalism.  It is a Hate Crime!!)

**  St. Louis school no longer named after Confederate soldier.  (Missouri.  Kennard Classical Junior Academy named after Lt. Samuel Kennard to be renamed Betty Wheeler Classical Junior Academy.  Betty Wheeler is a very deserving person, but also a black woman.)

Treat BLM/Confederate Symbols Equally

JANUARY 11, 2023

**  Black students allege school district banned BLM attire but allowed nooses, c(C)onfederate symbols.  (Effingham, Georgia, schools.  To ban one and not the other goes against my way of thinking.  Either both are banned or both allowed.)

If one is bad, then the other is bad.

**  I take full responsibility  for vandalizing UM's Confederate statue.  (Univ. of Mississippi.  But, it wasn't vandalizing.  It was a hate crime.)

**  Debate over future of c(C)onfederate monument.  (Manatee County, Florida)

**  Remove  Confederate monument in Liberty Cemetery.

**  Confederate monument removed from downtown Bradenton in 2017 may be repaired, brought out of storage.  (Manatee County, Florida)

NOVEMBER 30, 2022

**  North Augusta offers new home for Confederate plaques.  (Georgia)

*******************************

DECEMBER 1, 2022

**  Jacksonville sits idly by as Confederate monuments stand.  (Florida)

**  $500 offered after Asheboro c(C)onfederate  monument spraypainted.  (North Carolina.  Might this have been a hate crime?)

**  Fencing set up around Confederate monument after vandalism.  (Asheboro, North Carolina.  Again, was it vandalism or a hate crime.  I think the latter.)

Civil War II: Toting Confederate Flags, Georgia, Jacksonville and South Carolina

NOVEMBER 28, 2022

**  Airplane flies Confederate flag over TIAA Bank Field with message that calls for return of monuments.  (Jacksonville, Florida.  Jaguars football game.)

***************************

NOVEMBER 30, 2022

**  Milledgeville residents concerned after Confederate statue vandalized.  (Georgia.  Again, not vandalized.  It was a hate crome, pure and simple.)

**  Jacksonville council yet to vote on Confederate monuments.  (Florida.  Has something to do with the flag over the football stadium.)

**  Swansea replaces Confederate Memorial Day with Juneteenth.  (South Carolina)

Stone Mountain Again, North Carolina, Those Pesky Confederate Mounuments and Flags

NOVEMBER 19, 2022

**  Stone Mountain;  A brief history.  (Georgia.  Of interest, by Georgia state law, the whole park is a memorial to the Confederacy.  A lot of interesting stuff in the article.)

**  Commissioners to consider Confederate  statue decision  Monday.  (Lumberton, North Carolina)

******************************
NOVEMBER 20, 2022

**  Confederate monuments:  The debate will rise again.  (No kidding)

**  Confederate flag returns along I-85, flagpole still in violation.  (South Carolina)

**  Flaming tire placed on steps of Confederate museum.   (New Orleans.  Could this be considered a hate crime or is it just a case of vandalism?)

The Second Civil War: A Hate Crime to a Confederate Monument, Those Pesky Confederate Flags and No George Floyd High School

NOVEMBER 10, 2022

**  Confederate monument  in front of Mercer  Law vandalized.  (Macon, Georgia.  That's not vandalism.  It is a pure and simple case of HATE CRIME!!)

**  Potsdam  Central student disciplined for bringing Confederate flag to school.  (New York.  As long as students will also get in trouble for BLM items.)

**********************************

NOVEMBER 11, 2022

**  82 schools have removed their racist namesakes since 2020.  Dozens now honor people of color.  (Sounds like a SPLC list to me.  At least none to my knowledge have been renamed to honor George Floyd, a man with no honor.  Also, can you get in trouble for referring to people of color?)

That Travesty in Charlottesville

DECEMBER 7, 2021

**  Confederate statue remains  to be removed.  (Sad R.  The pedestal of the Lee statue is still there.  That eyesore because of what certain people did to it and what the city and state governments allowed them to do should have been taken down when they statue was removed.)

**  Statue of Confederate  Gen. Forrest removed in Tennessee.  (Along I-65 south of Nashville.  Well, it was an ugly statue.)

**  Thousands of 'renaming'  nominations received.  (Fort Rucker, Alabama)

*********************************

DECEMBER 8, 2021

**  Charlottesville's  statue of Confederate  General Robert E, Lee will be melted down.  (It is to be melted down into public art.  The city council voted 4-0 to give it to  the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center. This is a travesty.  Notice they didn't put it up to a public vote.  It should have been turned over to the SCV or UDC.

All Confederate statues should be turned over to the UDC or SCV.  All expenses should be paid for by those who want them taken down.)

**  Locals offer $3000  reward for Confederate monument  vandals.  (Murray, Kentucky.  Again, NOT vandalism.  This is a hate crime.)

More Shame on Charlottesville.  --Old Secesh

Even Kansas? Is Defacing Also a Hate Crime? Ida B. Wells Statue, Virginia, Tennessee and That Proper Name Thing Again

JULY 20, 2021

**  Wichita Confederate war memorial defaced in latest  skirmish over Civil War remembrance.  (Kansas.  Defacing is another name for a hate crime.  Vandalism?)

**  In PNW, Confederate flag controversies are not new.  (Pacific Northwest)

**  Forever on Beale:  Ida B. Wells statue in Memphis.  (Tennessee.  A new statue of her at the corner of Beale and Fourth streets.  Well-deserved.  Sad that this is one of the first statues of her put up anywhere.  The woman was amazing.  So, Memphis gets a little reprieve from its racist hatred of all things Confederate.)

**  Roanoke County  judge orders removal of Confederate monument.  (Virginia.  Imagine someone in our "judicial system" saying something like that.)

**  Collierville  residents divided over removal of confederate (Confederate)  monument in Town Square Park.  (Tennessee.  Once called Confederate Park.  (Looks like WATN would know about proper names.)

Poor Kirby Smith (Nobody Wants Him), Neo-Brown Shirts? Sad Charlottesville, Another Bragg Going, About That Tuskegee Hate Crime

JULY 9, 2021

**  After Lake County rejection, where does statue of Confederate Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith go now?   (Florida)

**  Neo-Confederates worked with other  far-right groups in failed efforts to preserve monuments.  (There's that Neo-Confederate term again.  Do you think these guys use it to make Confederate supporters sound like Neo-Nazis.  That is very Neo-Brown Shirt of them.)

**  Charlottesville set to remove Lee statue that sparked rally.  (Virginia.  Did you think they wouldn't?)

**  Fort Bragg  Citizen Commission wants input on changing town's name.  (Fort Bragg, California.  And you thought the name to be changed was just Fort Bragg.)

*********************************

July 10, 2021

**  Charlottesville prepares to take down Confederate statues on Saturday.  (Virginia.  Like I said, the sooner out of that town, the better.  Another town on my no-go list along with Richmond and Asheville.)

**  Tuskegee  leader vandalizes Confederate  statue, is ok with facing vandalism charges.  (Alabama.  But, what he did was not just vandalism, it was a hate crime.  He should be facing those charges.  Let's see of he takes that so easily.)

History of Confederate Statues and Why They Divide Us. Fort Moore? Sad R.'s Pesky Pedestals, Another Hate Crime and Loudon Co.'s Sign Problem

 JULY 5, 2021

**  BEW POV doc explores the history of Confederate statues -- and why they divide us.

**  Why the Confederacy failed to recreate the American Revolution.

**  Family of Bardstown  Army leader seeks to rename Fort Benning after parents.  (Bardstown, Kentucky.  For their father, Lt. General Hal Moore, a Vietnam hero.  At least he is not a black person.  I worry that ALL bases will be named for Blacks.)

*******************************

JULY 6, 2021

**  Monuments, pedestals  on the agenda of Richmond's Planning Commission on Tuesday.  (Virginia.  Guess what sad R. will determine here.)

**  Jackson statue vandalized. (Charlottesville, Virginia.  Again, this is not vandalism, it is a hate crime.  Treat it as such.  If a white person did that to a black person's statue, it sure would be called a hate crime.  Level the field.)

**  Loudon County weighs what to do with roads named for Confederates, segregationists.  (Virginia.  Figuring this is in Virginia, what do you think they will do?)

BLM Hits Atlanta Cemetery's 'Lion of the Confederacy' Statue

From the March 3, 2021,  11 Alive (Atlanta, Ga.)   "Confederate-era  statues vandalized at Atlanta's historic Oakland Cemetery" by Michael King.

Some of the spray-painted  graffiti included profanity and racially offensive remarks. They were "vandalized" on Feb. 28.  Two of the ones hit include "The Lion of the Confederacy" (1894) and the Confederate Obelisk (1873)

The Lion is the headstone for 3,000 unknown Confederate soldiers buried there.  There were lots of BLMs on both.

Again, this IS NOT vandalism.  It is nothing short of a hate crime and should be treated and prosecuted as such.

Utah's Woke State University. University of the South, the Ex-Slave and Confederate Hero, Pelham Lake, Vandalism or Hate Crime?

FEBRUARY 11, 2021

**  How an ex-slave and a Confederate hero joined forces during the Jim Crow era.  (Quite an interesting story.  Give it a read.)

**  Bill to repeal Alabama law protecting  Confederate monuments  fails to advance.  (Wow!  Did we maybe win one?)

**  Split vote, split views.  Confederate Pelham removed as Culpepper Lake's name.  (Virginia)

**  Gaston County Confederate monument vandalized.  (North Carolina.  Dear old BLM at work again.  I wonder of it would be vandalizing if someone did that to a Martin Luther King Jr. monument?)

**  Did Churchill say "People with contempt for their heritage have lost faith in themselves"?  (Snopes.  He didn't.  These words were on a removed Confederate monument.)

**  Utah House votes for dropping 'Dixie' from university name.  (Dixie State University.  No new name chosen.  The school has already changed nickname from Rebels to Red Storm and removed a Confederate soldier statue.  Many southerners had settled in the area after the Civil War.  Maybe rename the school Gutless State University or Woke State University.)

**  First black president at the University of the South says home has been vandalized, threatening messages left.  (Sewanee, Tennessee.  Is this vandalism or a hate crime.  I'd call it a hate crime.)

Will BLM Be Rioting in Kenosha Tonight? Nancy Gets Hers.

JANUARY 5, 2021

I was listening to a radio station this morning and heard that the City of Kenosha, Wisconsin,  is preparing for riots and that the state governor has called out some 500 National Guard soldiers for that possibility. The county is determining whether the officer who shot the black man should be tried.

Should the decision be to try him there will be no problem.

But, if the decision is not to try him, BLM and their white minions will be out there rioting, burning and looting.  It is what they do best.

Look at all the preparations that were made in major U.S. cities during the presidential election.  Had trump won, BLM would have been out there rioting, burning and looting.  That is what they do.

In my opinion, anyone who backs this group supports rioting, looting and burning.

Of course, it's winter in the Midwest right now.  Maybe they'll wait for nicer weather.

**  I just had to chuckle a bit when the U.S. House Speaker, a noted supporter of BLM had her house vandalized because of the relief paychecks.  Wonder who vandalized her home?  It was Confederate statues or paintings.

Oh, Well.  You Know How They Get When They Don't Get Their Way.  --Old Secesh

Civil War II: Slavery, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia

NOVEMBER 17, 2020

**  Enslaved, terrorized,  disenfranchised: Black Americans still found ways to change America.  (New York Times.  Big surprise that they would print an article like this.

**  Virginia  police chief fired as  felony charges dropped in Confederate vandalism  case.  (Portsmouth.  A Virginia state senator riled a crowd to destroy a Confederate monument.  Why she would still be allowed to be in the state government could only happen in a state that has descended into the depths as far as Virginia.  She should be in jail.  What she was trying to have happen was nothing less than a hate crime, something that is generally frowned upon unless it is against something Confederate.

Plus, obviously her devious power reaches far enough to get someone for for doing their job correctly.  Only in Virginia.  What has happened to Virginia?

**  Franklin, Tennessee's 'Fuller Story' is focus of  first Confederate Reckoning   event Dec. 3.

**  Woman arrested at Confederate  monument protest.   (Albertville, Alabama.)

**  Stone Mountain Park's overseers to weigh change in Confederate tributes.  (Georgia)

Sad R., Statue Removal Costs, Savannah, North Carolina and Louisiana

OCTOBER 11, 2020

**  The legacy of slavery and voting patterns in US elections.

**********************************

OCTOBER 12, 2020

**  Nonprofit raises $45K towards city's $1.8M Confederate monument removal bills.  (sad R again.  Again, all money for removals should be paid by those who want them removed and should not come out of public funds.  And, in the case of sad R., the mayor and governor should pay with their own money as well.)

**  Peaceful protest held at Confederate memorial in Forsyth Park.  (Savannah, Georgia.  Isn't it amazing that BLM can have a "peaceful protest?"  The statues have already been "vandalized" several times and a fence has been constructed around them.  But, at least it was a peaceful demonstration with no confrontations or hate crimes committed.)

**  For fourth consecutive meeting, commissioners asked to remove Confederate  monument from county property.  (Catawba County, North Carolina.)

**  Court hearing on removing Confederate statue delayed by courthouse closure.  (Lafayette Parish, Louisiana.    Closed in aftermath of Hurricane Delta.  Statue of Gen. Alfred Mouton.)

These Are Some Guys Not Afraid to Stand Up to BLM and Antifa. Persons Committing a Hate Crime Are Actually Arrested.

OCTOBER 9, 2020

**  Court hearing and more state  action ahead of Capitol's  bust of Confederate general.  (Nashville, Tennessee.    Nathan Bedford Forrest.)

**  Savannah City Council discusses options for Confederate monuments.  (Georgia.  There have been several acts of vandalism (hate crimes) against them.  BLM at work again.)

**  Confederate 'Lost Cause'  defenders run to keep  seats in Southern legislatures.  (Specifically targeted Rep. Tommy Benton of Georgia, Rep. Larry Pittman of N.C. and Sen. Joey Hensley of Tennessee.  Of course, if I lived in those states and had a chance to vote for any of these men who are not afraid to stand up to BLM, they'd sure get my vote.)

********************************

OCTOBER 10, 2020

**  Confederate marker in Colliersville vandalized, six arrested.  (Tennessee.  I sure wish they'd stop calling it that.  It was a hate crime, pure and simple.  What if somebody "vandalized" a Martin Luther  King, Jr. statue.  What would they call it?  I bet not "vandalism."  But, at least arrests were made.  I was beginning to think folks who "vandalized" a Confederate statue received awards for doing their "civic duty.")

And, in the meantime, that lady senator in Virginia gets to keep her seat after committing a hate crime on her own.  Things that make you wonder.

UDC, 'Dukes of Hazzard', Catholics, Second Civil War, Hate Crimes-Not Vandalism

 SEPTEMBER 26, 2020

**  Confederate monument removal advocates in newspaper ad call for public meeting with UDC.  (Calloway County, Kentucky)

**  Catholics journey across Hampton Roads landmarks to highlight racial inequality.  (Virginia)

**  NYT's Friedman":  'I'm terrified' to find myself covering  America's potential  Second Civil War.  (I'm more than a bit worried about this becoming a bloody Civil War myself.)

*********************************

SEPTEMBER 27, 2020

** Confederate monument in Forsyth Park vandalized.  (Savannah, Georgia.  Again, that is a hate crime, not simple vandalism.  What would it be called if something similar was done to a Martin Luther King Jr. statue?)

**  St. Augustine Confederate monument vandalized overnight.  (Florida)

**  Rewatching 'The Civil War'  during the Breonna Taylor and George Floyd protests.    (Ken Burns PBS series.)

**  Group continues to ask  county to remove Confederate statue.  (Catwaba County, North Carolina)

********************************

SEPTEMBER 26, 2020

**  Confederate memorial set on fire, vandalized at Trout Creek Fish Camp.  (Florida.  It was in place just 24 hours before  it was attacked.  Wonder who might have attacked it?  This monument was erected in 1872 in honor of 42 Confederate soldiers and stood in St. Augustine before Confederadication set in. Again, this is not vandalism.  It is a hate crime.)

Thomas Jefferson Statue at Univ. of Virginia Under Attack By Students and BLM

From Wikipedia.

I was looking up more information on the Thomas Jefferson monument at the University of Virginia.  I couldn't find any particulars about it, but did come across article after article on the attacks made on the statue by students and BLMers.

Here's what Wikipedia said about it.  Although I have put in the words hate crime each time Wikipedia called it vandalizing.

AUGUST 2017:  The statue was the target of graffiti hate crimes.

SEPTEMBER 2017:  The statue was again the target of protest during the Charlottesville historic monument controversy and the recent Unite the Right rally.  The statue was covered in black wrapping like the city had done to the Lee and Jackson statues.

University president Teresa A. Sullivan later called for civil discourse.

FRIDAY 13, APRIL 2018:  Someone committed a hate crime on the statue with the words "racist" and "rapist."  This was on the school's Founder's Day, tp celebrate Thomas Jefferson's birthday.

Portsmouth, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina and Kentucky

**  Crews working to remove Confederate monument in Portsmouth.  (Virginia.  And again, I hope they get it removed quickly.  It angers me every time I see what BLM and their state senator did to it.)

**  Church building, Confederate monument damaged.  (Jonesboro, Arkansas.  The church stood by a history marker  for last Confederate veteran in Arkansas.  This is a hate crime.  Not vandalism.)

**  Sons of Confederate Veterans sues Tennessee over removal of Forrest bust  from Capitol.

AUGUST 30, 2020

**  Group protests  for removal of Confederate statue at Gaston County after vote to relocate it rescinded.  (North Carolina)
