Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

If the Capitol Attack Was a Riot, Then, What Were the BLMers Doing Out on the Streets Back in 2020? Was That a Riot As Well?

FEBRUARY 10, 2023

**  Rioter who menaced  officer with Confederate flag gets prison.  (U.S. Capitol Jan. 6 attack.  I only saw pictures of him with the flag and pole over his shoulder.  And, of course, all those BLMers out in the streets in 2020, were there for social justice.)

**  Renaming brings to mind history, the cost of wokeness.  (It will cost a lot of money for all ther renaming.  I still think that the cost should be paid by those who want the names changed.)

Civil War II: Freedom Bridge in Augusta and Two Years for Jan. 6 Breach

OCTOBER 25, 2022

**  Augusta's 5th Street  Bridge could become 'Freedom Bridge,'  removing Confederate ties.  (Augusta, Georgia.  It is a pedestrian bridge.  It is now named Jefferson Davis.)

**  Man who stormed the Capitol with dad gets two years.  (About the January 6 assault on the building.  Everyone who entered the building as they did should have to pay one way or another.)

**  Son of Confederate flag-wielding rioter  sentenced to 24 months for  Jan. 6 breach.  It was indeed a riot.  However, what happened back in May-June 2020 after the Floyd murder was not called riots.)

Don't Play with Lacrosse Sticks. Statue Replacement in U.S. Capitol.

JULY 14, 2022

**  Capitol rioter with Confederate flag attached to a lacrosse stick gets five months in prison.  (Dangerous lacrosse sticks.  Nobody knows the rules to the game.)

**  Statue of civil rights leader replaces  Confederate statue in U.S. Capitol.  (Of course, a black person.)

**  Mary McLeod Bethune statue replaces Confederate  figure in U.S. Capitol.  (She replaced Edmund Kirby Smith.  I agree with this replacement, though.  She is a very worthy person to honor.)

**  Confederate flag seen flying from from sailboat in Vernon.  (How horrible.  Hopefully that boat is not the CSS Alabama in disguise.)

Robert E. Lee Statue, Cost of Removing Pedestals $1.5 Million, Racism and U.S. Capitol Attack

JANUARY 6, 2022

**  Robert E. Lee statue to exit  Richmond's wastewater plant.  (Sad R.  That's right, a further slap in the face from the mayor and his cohorts, store it at a wastewater plant.  Will this ever end.  Oh yes, and turn it over to a black museum.  One can only imagine what horrible things they are going to do with it.)

**  Removal of remaining Confederate monument pedestals could cost approximately  $1.5 million.  (Sad R.  That seems to be way high, but the money goes to a big-time mayor supporter.  Of course, the cost of all this should be paid for by people who want the monuments and their pedestals gone.  None should come from public funds.)

**  Racism's prominent role in January 6 US Capitol Attack.  (If this was racism, I would think it was in response to what the BLMers were doing during the days of riots all year during 2020.  And, let's face it, most of those rioters, looters and arsonists committing hate crimes were of one particular race of people.)

But, I agree, those pictures of them idiots attacking the Capitol is as offensive to me as the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.  A horrible day in U.S. history.

Virginia, North Carolina, Pride Flags, Capitol, Canada and Mississippi

AUGUST 10, 2021

**  Lexington City Council approves renaming Confederate-themed street. (Virginia.  New Market Place will become Evergreen Place.  The Battle of New Market was a Confederate victory.)

**  State Confederate sons and daughters contest Wilmington's settlement  with local chapter.  (North Carolina)

**  Pride flags stolen, replaced with Confederate flags at Virginia Tech's Wesley Center.  (Blacksburg, Virginia)

**  Fact check:  Police officer Michael Fanone did not storm the US Capitol waving a Confederate flag.

**  Hamilton  councillors to ban Nazi swastikas, Confederate flags, from city property. (Canada)

**  Leaders must decide how to replace Confederate monuments.  (Mississippi.  Of course, replace all Confederate monuments with monuments to black people.)

Democrats At It Again. Justice Gone Awry? Billboards, Delaware Man, Kentucky and North Carolina

MAY 8, 2021

**  Get rid of Confederate rock or risk custody of multiracial daughter, court tells woman.  (New York.  The judicial system's gone awry.)

**  Billboard campaign prods cities  to remove Confederate monuments.

**  Democrats revive bill to remove Capitol busts of  Dredd Scott author, Confederates and more.  (Washington, D.C.   Chief Justice Roger Taney of Dred Scott Decision, Vice president John C. Calhoun.  Ah yes, the Democratic Party, the Party of the KKK.  What party was responsible for the ending of slavery?)

**  Plea may be coming from Delaware man who carried Confederate flag through  Capitol.

**  KAco to take over representation for county in Confederate statue lawsuit.  (The Kentucky Association of Counties.   Dabies County, Ky.)

**  Confederate monument's  future could be determined in June.  (Laurinburg County, N.C.)

About That Confederate Chair. Twisting the Virginia Law. Poll Shows Most North Carolinians Favor Keeping Monuments Where They Are.

APRIL 9, 2021

**  Confederate chair held ransom.

**  City Council still undecided  on Confederate statues.  (Sad R.  So, apparently, the 1997 state law passed to protect Confederate statues only applies to those built after 1997, not to those erected before that.  I'm sure the original intent covered ALL statues, even those already standing.)

**  North Carolinians  still favor keeping  Confederate monuments.  Here's what  has changed.

**  Should  Confederate monuments stay?  Poll shows most in NC  say yes.

**  A majority in NC want to keep Confederate monuments, according to a new Elon  poll.  (58% want them to remain.  42% want them gone.)

**  Man who carried Confederate flag  to Capitol during Jan. 6 riot indicted.

**  West Virginia  lawmakers move to criminalize  removal of Confederate  statues.

Don't Replace Removed Confederate Monuments With Black Ones. Again, You Want It Gone, You Pay To Remove It.

FEBRUARY 3, 2021

**  The AR Project replaces Confederate statues with racial justice leaders.  (And that is not in the least racist.  No way, no how.)

**  Commentary:  Confederate holiday fuels oppression.

**  Artists sought for John Lewis tribute at old Confederate monument site.  (Decatur, Georgia.  John Lewis deserves a monument, but not in place of a removed Confederate one.  Put it elsewhere at the courthouse.)

**  Roxboro residents raising money to relocate Confederate  monuments from city court house.  (Roxboro, N.C.  Raising $25,000.  Like I've said before, you want it gone, YOU pay for it.  This should cover removal and a new place for it.)

**  1 for, 1 against removal of Confederate monument in Newton.  (North Carolina.  This referred to documents presented before the council.)

**  Rioter hit cop with Confederate flag-adorned hockey stick:  report.  (Capitol riot.  Hopefully the media will remember what a riot looks like when BLM continues theirs this summer.)

The Continuing War on the Confederacy: UDC, Texas, Confederate Holiday, Streets, Louisiana and Abolitionists

I do this blog to show that the attacks on the Confederacy are still continuing all over the place.  They are not reported in the news media for the most part except locally.  Believe me, this unwinnable fight is still going on even with the virus and winter

****************************

JANUARY 23, 2021

**  United Daughters of the Confederacy takes possession of Confederate monument removed from Williamsburg park.  (Virginia.)

**  Texas lawmakers aim to get rid of 'Confederate Heroes Day.'

*****************************

JANUARY 24, 2021

**  Rename Baton Rouge's Confederate streets?  Commission says  educating on racism more important.  (Louisiana)

**  Opinion/Chaput:  A riotous insult to a famed abolitionist.  (Referring to the picture of "Confederate Flag Guy" at the Jan. 6 US Capitol riot. Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner.  Of course, it is my belief that the abolitionist played a huge role in the coming of the Civil War.)

The Second Civil War: Still Trump, 'Lost Cause', Hillbillies, Biden, Georgia, Alabama, Capitol Riot and Lee

JANUARY 25, 2021

**  Letter:  Ship Confederate statues to Mar-A-Lago's front lawn.

**  Are we witnessing the emergence of a new 'Lost Cause'?

**  Trump is threatening to form the Patriot Party.    That name has already been used -- by 'hillbilly socialists."  (From the nonpartisan Washington Post.  Yeah, you crackers.)

**  Will Biden be able to heal the US?

**  Confederate namesakes among Augusta issues lingering behind pandemic. (Georgia)

***************************************

JANUARY 26, 2021

**  A racist  emblem still lives on Alabama's state seal.  Will the Confederate flag finally die in 2022?

**  Man who carried Confederate flag in Capitol riots waved preliminary hearings.

**  'Robert E. Lee and Me' dismantles  Confederate mythology.  (New book on Lee and the "Lost Cause."

Talking About Monumentless Avenue in Sad R. How Do You Get to be an Activist? Those Pesky Confederate Face Masks (It's a Health Issue, You Know)

JANUARY 22, 2021

**  Name of Virginia's Camp Pendleton will be changed from that of Confederate general:  new recommendation due next month.  (Evidently a state owned base.)

**  Activists promise to continue fight against 'Talbot Boys' Confederate monument.  (Maryland.  I'd still like to know how you get to be an activist, usually referred to as a community activist.  Do you have to attend college and get a degree in Activism?)

**  Parents outraged  over student's Confederate  flag face mask demand action.  (Oakville, Missouri.  Nothing was said about wearing BLM masks.  Those are more than a bit offensive to many.  You mean you'd rather put a person's life in danger during the virus than be offended by that flag?)

**  After deadly US Capitol riot, Texas lawmakers  find renewed hope to remove Confederate symbols.  (No Confederate veterans took part in the attack on the Capitol.  They are all dead, guys.)

**  Commissioners seek dismissal of Gaston County Confederate monument lawsuit.  (North Carolina)

**  Valentine Museum's survey  says 64% of Richmonders believe museums should acquire Confederate monuments from Monument Avenue.  (Sad R.  The problem is that the Valentine Museum has been taken over by the other side. Also, the name of Monument Avenue should be changed.  I kind of like Monumentless Avenue myself, but any other name will do.  And, no monuments of any sort should be allowed on it or near it.  That means the Arthur Ashe statue also needs to be moved.)

The Insurrection Was a Confederate Resurgence. (Now, There's a Headline!) Arkansas, Flags, Georgia and Virginia

JANUARY 19, 2021

**  Arkansas leaders propose bill to repeal Confederate Flag Day.  (Both of them are white.  Surprising.)

**  The insurrection was a Confederate  resurgence.  (This is a good one.  Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me.  Sure does.)

**  Confederate flag here, MLK vigil there (and there).

**  Bill Berry:  Confederate flag in the Capitol is an affront to our  ancestors' sacrifices.

**  Gwinnett  citizens call for the removal of Confederate monument.  (Georgia.  The commissioner pushing this is a black man.  That is not racist?)

**  Virginia holiday commemorating Confederacy no longer celebrated.  (Lee-Jackson Day.  Real big surprise that happened in Virginia.  Will the last Confederate out of that sad state please turn out the light.)

Confederadication: Arkansas, Confederate heroes Day, SCV, U.S. Capitol Arrests, Kentucky

JANUARY 17, 2021

**  Arkansas leaders propose bill to repeal Confederate Flag Day.

**  Abolish Confederate Heroes Day:  Texas lawmaker  reintroduces bill after 'white supremacist' U.S. Capitol riots.  (Jarvis Johnson, a black man.    Wonder what his stand on the BLM riots in Texas was back this past summer?    Nothing racist about his statement, is there?)

**  Members of Sons of Confederate Veterans celebrate Lee-Jackson Day in Lexington.  (Virginia)

**  Far-right video blogger, man with Confederate flag among latest Capitol siege arrests.  (As well as all those who entered the Capitol should be arrested.  And anyone proven to have caused damage or a confrontation should especially be pursued.  I just hope authorities continue this policy when BLM start their riots when the weather warms up.)

**  Confederate marker's relocation stalls;  WKU tight-lipped about renaming colleges.  (Bowling Green, Kentucky,  Western Kentucky University.  The marker is for Bowling Green being named the Confederate capital of the state.

The school is also looking into changing the names of two WKU colleges:  Potter College of Arts and Letters and the Ogden College of Science and Engineering because these two men owned slaves.  Ridiculous.)

Oh! That Confederate Flag!!! 'Confederate Flag Guy' Again. Let the People Vote, Not Politicians.

JANUARY 15, 2021

**  Man holding Confederate flag in Capitol during pro-Trump protest  turns himself in.  (The "Confederate Flag Guy."  From Delaware.)

**  Several more Capitol  rioters have been arrested including man who carried Confederate flag.  (New York Times.  I bet they are so happy.  Remember this during the summer BLM riots, guys.)

**  Op-ed:  Why it wasn't surprising to see Capitol rioters waving the Confederate flag.  (Chicago Tribune.)

*******************************

JANUARY 16, 2021

**  After year of racial reckoning, black lawmakers believe they can finally eliminate Confederate Heroes Day in Texas.

**  Stone Mountain Park official:  Confederate flags protected by law.

**  The ugly symbolism of Confederate flag in the Capitol.  (Chicago Sun-Times.  Unfortunately, the media seems more upset that there was a Confederate flag in the Capitol even more than the fact it was a crowd intent on disrupting and threatening the federal government while doing government business.)

**  Gwinnett officials vote to remove  Confederate statues from city square.  (Georgia.  I always hate to see politicians voting on this instead of the people.  So often, the politicians in the South are speaking for minorities when they do this, not the majority of the people.

Let the People Vote!!  --Old Secesh

Regardless, I'll Still Call the Bases By Their Original Name. FBI Going After 'Confederate Flag Guy'

JANUARY 11, 2021

**  The Pentagon is officially moving ahead with renaming bases that honor Confederate leaders.  (But, just like with Comiskey Park and the Sears Tower in Chicago, I will continue calling these bases by the original name.)

**  Defense secretary appoints NH man  to commission to rename bases.  (Joshua Whitehouse)

**  Albertville activist group put up billboard, protest for the removal of confederate (Confederate) flag, monument.  (Come on WAFF, PROPER NAME.  Alabama.)

*********************************

JANUARY 12, 2021

**  Mississippi  governor signs law removing Confederate battle emblem from state flag.

**  Confederate statues likely to go undisturbed in SC in 2021.

**  FBI calls for public help in finding 'Confederate flag guy' from Capitol riot.  (Yet, they did nothing about BLM looters, arsonists and rioters during the past summer's "civil unrest?"  What they were doing was much worse that just carrying a flag inside the Capitol.)

**  Who owns America's history?  The answer will define what replaces  fallen monuments.

**  Why is the confederate (Confederate) flag still allowed in our schools?  (IdahoEdNews. You might think educators would know a proper noun when they see one?)

With all the hoopla over that Confederate flag in the Capitol, are "they" more concerned about it or the fact that the riot took place in the first place?

Still About Those Flags. North Carolina, Virginia, Fort Bragg, Jewish Heritage Museum and Washington, D.C.

JANUARY 9, 2021

**  Confederate  battle flag an unnerving sight in Capitol.  (New York Times)

JANUARY 10, 2021

**  Confederate monument in Elizabeth City needs to go, but has no takers.  (Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  It has already been voted on to be removed.)

**  Confederate Battle flag in the Capitol: A 'jarring' first in US history.  (New York Times)

**  Letter:  Fort Bragg bigger  than Confederate name.

**  AOC condemns Confederate flag raised outside Jewish Heritage Museum.  (New York City)

**  The Confederate flag made it deeper into Washington this week than during the US Civil War.

Talking 'Bout Them Insurgents, CNN, Fort Bragg, West Point, Rolling Stone and Skeeters

JANUARY  8. 2021

**  Before Wednesday, insurgents waving Confederate flags hadn't been within six miles of the US Capitol.  (CNN.  Imagine CNN with these headlines.  Only the last time, those "insurgents" might have done far worse than these "insurgents" did.  And, there would have been many more than two (I'm guessing) Confederate flags there.)

**  Pentagon begins process to rename bases like Fort Bragg due to Confederacy link.

**  Defense secretary  appoints four to commission on renaming  military bases that honor Confederates.  (Just PLEASE, please, please DON'T rename every one for a black person.  I wouldn't mind one named for Colin Powell or Jackie Robinson.  But, under today's situation every one of them will be named after a black person.)

**  New law requires West Point to rename dorm, roads and gate named for Confederate generals.  (Lee Barracks, also a road and gate named for Lee.  Also a road named for Beauregard.  Just don't name them all for Blacks.)

**  Lock him up.  (Rolling Stone magazine on Trump after the riot.  Well, if Rolling Stone says so, it must be so.)

**  Opinion:  A disgrace for the history books:  Even before  the Civil War, better leaders prevented chaos in the Capitol.

**  Mississippi governor to sign law Monday for new state flag.  (Well, if they had to change it, at least they got a good looking one.  I still kind of like the one with the mosquito.  They sure have a lot of them in Louisiana.)

Media Goes Bonkers Over Confederate Flag(s) in U.S. Capitol. The Rev. Rob Lee Opens Mouth.

JANUARY 8, 2021

I was wondering what the reaction to the one or two Confederate flags I saw at the riot Wednesday would be.  Here we go:

**  Fairfax moving forward with removal of Confederate iconography.  Virginia.  Once all the Confederate stuff is down then they should start on removing all  BLM stuff.  All that stuff means is looting, burning, rioting, attacking police and hate crimes against Confederate monuments.  Take a look at that Lee monument in Sad R..  If people did that to a Martin Luther King monument, what would it be called?)

**  Before Wednesday, insurgents waving Confederate flags hadn't been within 6 miles of US Capitol.  (I saw one, maybe two Confederate flags, but a whole lot of U.S. flags.  I kind of knew that when certain folks on the other side saw that, they'd go bonkers.

**  A Confederate flag at the Capitol summons America's demons.  (They sure did go bonkers.)

**  Today, the Confederate flag flew in the United States Capitol.  (Again, I see a BLM flag or banner, I'm thinking let the riots, burning and looting begin.)

**  Black veterans  angered, saddened by Confederate flag  inside US Capitol during riots.  (I wonder how they feel about BLM flags?)

**  Descendant of Robert E. Lee decries Confederate flag in the Capitol.  (The Right Rev. Rob Lee opens mouth again.  We've heard from the man before.   Maybe he should change his last name.  That must carry great shame with the man.)

As far as the flag in the Capitol, there should have been no flags of any sort in there being carried by those rioters.  That was a blow to the whole United States.  How  could it have been allowed to happen?  But, I hope that the next time BLM is having one of their riots, that  the media will call it as such.  Now that we know that they know a riot when they see a riot.  Last summer and fall, they seemed to have no idea.

Goodbye Fort Hood. Last Civil War Widow Dies. The Problem with Those Confederate Statues and License Plates and That Flag Inside the Capitol

JANUARY 6, 2021

**  Defense bill will force Fort Hood to change its name.  (Texas)

**  The last known  widow of a Civil War veteran has died in Missouri.  She was 101.  (Okay, not exactly Civil War II stuff, but of extreme interest to me.)

**  New Mississippi flag without rebel symbol being put into law.  (Now maybe those state colleges will be able to fly the flag of their state.  I still believe that they shouldn't have received any state funding during their refusal to fly the old flag.)

*******************************************

JANUARY 7, 2021

**  Billboard taken down after calling for removal of Confederate statue.  (Allendale Township, Michigan.  Removed because of complaints.  Text on it:  "Remove the racist  Confederate statue."

**  SC bills seek to ban  vaccine mandates, Confederate  license plates.

**  Trump-supporting rioter pictured carrying a Confederate flag inside US Capitol.  (Not to mention all those US and Trump flags in there and outside.  So, Confederates finally captured the Capitol after failing to do so in 1864.)

About That Disgrace That Took Place Yesterday in D.C.

Those pictures of the Trump mob swarming over the outside and inside of the U.S. Capitol was alarming to say the least.  The fact that a group like this could get into the building and interrupt the workings of the government is unbelievable.

I hope never to see it again.  The photos of the idiots all over the outside and inside the Capitol are ingrained in my mind now, along with the Twin Towers burning on 9/11.  I hope the authorities are able to track them down and prosecute (at least better than they did with the BLM agitators).

I did find the media's comments on what happened of interest.  NBC, ABC and CNN came out and called what happened riots.  And, they were.

However, I saw that during last summer's Days of Rage by the BLM and their white minions, that the rioting, burning, looting and hate crimes committed were called civil unrest.

Hey, boys and girls, a riot is a riot is a riot.

I hope never to see pictures like those idiots climbing all over the Capitol again.

Look Like a Riot.  Is a Riot.  Let's Call Them As They Are.  --Old Secesh
