Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

Should Confederate Monument Removal Be an Issue?
APRIL 25th, 2023
** How do you feel about c(C)onfederate monuments being a campaign issue in mayor's race? (I'd consider it an issue. And, I also believe that any proposal to remove a Confederate monument should be put to a vote of the people, not just a small group of politicians.)
** Activists are calling on state leaders to leave Confederate Memorial Day in the past. (Two guesses as to which race these activists belong. First one doesn't count. Is this a racist thing?)
** Where Jacksonville mayoral candidates Deegan and Davis stand on Confederate monument removal. (Florida. A lot of this revolves around if tax dollars should be used for removal. I have always said that those that want them removed should foot the bill.)

** Richmond's Levar Stoney returns from Israel, eyes governor's mansion. (Of course, he is the mayor od Sad R. that allowed all the horrible things to happen to those Confedrate monuments. I wouldn't vote for him for dog catcher.)

Another National Survey on Statue Removal
NOVEMBER 3, 2022
** Southern attitudes toward Confederate monuments and reforming public spaces. (Findings from a national survey. Interesting numbers. Of interest, every state in the South and even across the nation has 50% and more wanting them left in place or have context added to them.)
Of course, it is my belief that the absolute best way to determine how people stand on statue removal would be to put it to a vote. I'd go along with the will of the majority of the people and also am fairly sure that, unless the people in a voting district are primarily Blacks, the vote will be to keep the statues. Look what has happened in Virginia when it has been put to a vote. Virginians have come a long way in my mind as to redeeming themselves, other than Sad R..

** Officials say Confederate flagpole along I-85 needs to come down. (South Carolina. I say keep it up.)
** Richmond gets court win in lingering Confederate statue case. (Sad R. again, of course. Lingering? Is it a disease? This was a double loss as Gen A.P. Hill's descendants don't get to decide what to do with it. The city does and we know how the former capital of the Confederacy stands on all things Confederate. Probably let some black group melt it down. I will continue with my boycott of that sad city.)
