Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

*******************************

MARCH 17, 2023

**  These Southern National Guard units to toss  Confederate  battle streamers.

**  Two  Baltimore Confederate statues vandalized, no suspects identified.  (Maryland.  And I thought they had removed all Confederate statues.  Hey, THIS is NOT vandalism.  It is a Hate Crime!!)

**  St. Louis school no longer named after Confederate soldier.  (Missouri.  Kennard Classical Junior Academy named after Lt. Samuel Kennard to be renamed Betty Wheeler Classical Junior Academy.  Betty Wheeler is a very deserving person, but also a black woman.)

Don't Play with Lacrosse Sticks. Statue Replacement in U.S. Capitol.

**  Statue of civil rights leader replaces  Confederate statue in U.S. Capitol.  (Of course, a black person.)

**  Mary McLeod Bethune statue replaces Confederate  figure in U.S. Capitol.  (She replaced Edmund Kirby Smith.  I agree with this replacement, though.  She is a very worthy person to honor.)

**  Confederate flag seen flying from from sailboat in Vernon.  (How horrible.  Hopefully that boat is not the CSS Alabama in disguise.)

What Did Confederate Monuments Have to Do with the January 6 Insurrection?

JUNE 12, 2022

**  Who led to the insurrection of January 6?  Just look to our monuments.  (L.A. Times.  Okay, blaming the Confeds again.  There you go.)

**  Protesters rally against standing Confederate  monuments during Jacksonville bicentennial celebration.  (Florida.  I wonder how much crime and how many murders have taken place there  the last couple years while they've been trying to lose those statues?  Makes you wonder what's important to some folks.  It looked like about 25 protesters.  Huge turnout.)

**  Juneteenth marked as a state holiday  in Alabama this year.

A.P. Hill, Tuskegee, Texas, Capsule, Arthur Ashe, Flag

SEPTEMBER 12, 2021

**  City reaches agreement with family of A.P. Hill to relocate  former Confederate general's remains, monument.  (Sad R.  It will be removed to  Fairview Cemetery in Culpepper.  A better way to do this sort of thing than Sad R. usually does.  Of course, all sorts of BLM/NAACP obscenities on it.)

**  Suit filed over Confederate  statue in mostly black Tuskegee.  (Alabama)

**  Confederate  memorial statue to be returned  to museum grounds.  (Greenville, Texas)

**  New capsule  installed  within pedestal  where Confederate General Robert E. Lee statue stood.  (Sad R.  They gave up looking for the original one.  I was hoping that the pedestal would also be taken down.  What Sad R. did to  it is a shame.)

****************************

SEPTEMBER 13, 2021

**  Black man's statue is the last statue standing on historic street in former capital of the Confederacy.  (Sad R.  The statue is  of tennis great Arthur Ashe.  I'd like to see it also moved to somewhere else and no statues be allowed on Monument Avenue.)

AUGUST 14, 2021

**  Correcting revisionist history:  SPLC challenges more than 100 schools honoring Confederate leaders to change their names.  (They even made a lost.  Imagine them making a list.  Of course, I'm sure they want all of them to be renamed for Blacks.)

**  Flag debate rises again  with fair season.  (You know which flags are in question.  The way I look at it, if a person is offended, don't buy it or look at it or even do business with the person.)

**  AS US COVID-19 deaths top the Civil War's toll, we're repeating disease history.  (Time Magazine.  Well, how about that.  No statues or flags here!!!)

**  Christiansburg approves tribute to African American history to be installed near Confederate  monument.  (Virginia.  Always room for another historical monument.)

JUNE 9, 2021

**  Pride flags stolen, replaced with Confederate flag in Louisville.  (Kentucky)

**  Ohio writer explores  the past of "Lost Civil War."  (A new book about Civil War sites that are no longer with us including destroyed during the war, by nature and even up to what BLM and the college students are doing to Confederate monuments.  Truly lost history.)

*********************************

JUNE 10, 2021

**  Confederate monument's fate moves closer to getting moved.  (Laurinburg, North Carolina.  Erected in 1912.  Again, how long must something be there before some folks figure out they are offended by it?  Evidently a long time.)

**  Confederate flag  in car at NC racetrack prompts apology from race organizers in Winston-Salem.  (Ridiculous.)

APRIL 9, 2021

**  Confederate chair held ransom.

**  City Council still undecided  on Confederate statues.  (Sad R.  So, apparently, the 1997 state law passed to protect Confederate statues only applies to those built after 1997, not to those erected before that.  I'm sure the original intent covered ALL statues, even those already standing.)

**  North Carolinians  still favor keeping  Confederate monuments.  Here's what  has changed.

The Word From the Other Side: 'Best FUs to Confederate Monuments'-- Part 1

I came across this article in the Dec. 30, 2019, Blavity: News  "9 of the best FUs to Confederate monuments:  The Confederacy ain't rising anytime soon" by Ashleigh Lakieva Atwell.  She is a black person.

Blavity is an internet company created by and for black millennials.

It starts:

"The confederacy was one of the biggest failures  in American history but some white folks refuse to let it go.  They have erected numerous memorials to commemorate men who stood on the wrong side of history.  Not to mention...they lost.  The confederates were also attempting to create their own slave-holding nation so they were also traitors.  Clearly, they refused to pick a struggle.

"Over a century later, we're still fighting for the right to not be subjected to statues, flags, and other useless shit celebrating these disloyal losers.  Thankfully, there were a few brave souls who made it their mission to give the figurative middle finger to the confederacy.

"While those dummies wait for the South to rise again, here are a few of our favorite anti-confederate rebels."

She goes on to list nine examples of standing up to the Confederacy.  Just wish she knew that Confederacy and Confederate are spelled with capital "C's".  Something about being a proper name.

I will list her nine things in the next post.

No More 'Hey Reb!' at UNLV, Who 'Attacked' Confederate Statue in Louisiana? Confederate Flags.

JANUARY 22, 2021

**  County commissioners vote to remove controversial Confederate monument, put it in storage.  (Gwinnett County, Georgia.  No big surprise, as I predicted the other day, about them voting to remove it.  Again, it should have been put to a vote by the people, not just politicians afraid of BLM coming to their homes.  What we need is some politicians with a backbone.  The monument was only controversial because Blacks did like it.)

**  UNLV drops  'Hey Reb!' mascot over perceived Confederate ties.  (University of Nevada Las Vegas. They will, however, keep the name Rebels.  Sorry guys, the word Rebel connotes Confederate more than your "Hey Reb!" guy.)

**  Confederate statue in Louisiana damaged, nose missing.  (Lafayette, Louisiana.  Statue of General Alfred Mouton.  Authorities not sure who did it, but I have a probably culprit in mind.  And, this is NOT vandalism, but a HATE CRIME.)

**  Is removing Confederate monuments, changing sports teams names just a distraction?

Taking a Long Look at the Alabama State Coat of Arms

I was looking at the Alabama State Coat of Arms in the picture section to the right of this and have come to the conclusion that other things need to be taken off it because they might offend some people.

Right now, there is a movement among black legislators in that state, and of course BLM, to remove the Confederate flag because it offends them.

In that case, they also need to remove the Spanish flag because the things they did to the Indians in the new world were too numerous to even get into.  France and British were also bad to the Indians.  Plus, all three countries have done bad things in their history.

Plus, eagles have been known to swoop down and grab fish and other small animals, even other birds.  Well, we can't have them either.

Then, there's that ship at the top of it with cannons.  Ships with cannons kill people on other ships and land.

Then, there is that state motto "Audemus Jura Nostra Defendere" which means "We dare to defend our rights."  Oops, they dared to defend their right to own slaves according to BLM.

So, all that has to go.

See what the NEW Alabama coat of arms will look like below.

The Va. State Senator With a Long Reach. Anybody Still Watching NASCAR or the NBA?

 SEPTEMBER 6, 2020

**  Police chief on leave after charging  Virginia lawmaker over  damaged Confederate statues.  (Portsmouth. A state senator and several other members of the black community charged with conspiring to damage the Confederate statue in town.  The senator has long reach, evidently.  And here I was thinking Confederate statues were open season for Blacks and their white minions.  Evidently not.)

**  Virginia governor:  Let localities  determine fate of Confederate statues.  (And, we all know what he wants done to them.)

**  (By the way, is the Lee statue in Sad R. still up?)

**  Group recommends the removal of Confederate flag from Williamson County seal  (Franklin, Tennessee)

**  Petition calls for removal of confederate (Confederate) flag from Williamson County seal.

**  Darlington Notebook:  Darlington to enforce Confederate flag policy.  (Darlington, South Carolina.   NASCAR.  I wonder if they also ban BLM flags and tee shirts?  They are also offensive.  Anybody besides me no longer watching NASCAR or the NBA?)
