Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

Civil War II: Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky and Arkansas

 SEPTEMBER 6, 2020

**  Confederate monument protest planned Sunday evening in Mobile.  (Alabama.  Well, the Semmes statue is already removed.  They are protesting the 2017 Alabama Memorial Preservation Act which was passed to keep Confederate statues from being removed.  They are referred to as an "activist" group.  Black communities sure have a lot of activists and activist groups.  I wonder how they get that job?)

**  Replacing schools Confederate name should be less costly. (Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Changing name of Lee High School will cost $170,000 instead of $250,000.  I still say school name changes should be paid for by those who want the name changed.)

**  Confederate monument  spray-painted with "BLM' message.  (Rockingham, North Carolina.  At least they are not calling it vandalism.  The monument has had many threats to it since the George Floyd death.)

**  Confederate statue should at least be moved.  (Brunswick, Georgia)

**  Groups continue calling for removal of Confederate statue outside Madison County courthouse.  (Alabama)

**  Caboni:  Confederate marker made campus 'uncomfortable.'   (Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Western Kentucky University.  (The marker was about the Confederate state capital of Kentucky.)

**  Flags removed for replacement.  (Fort Smith, Arkansas.  The Fort Smith Riverfront.  The vendor couldn't find a Confederate flag replacement.  Makes you wonder.)

**   Army, Navy, Air Force secretaries recommend banning display of Confederate flag on military bases.

**  JMU to change  3 buildings named after Confederate soldiers.  (James Madison University in Virginia.  Ashby, Jackson and Maury halls.  Guess they'll also have to change the name of the school because of you-know-what.)

*****************************

JULY 9, 2020

**  Newport News' Lake Maury, named for Confederate officer, is now the Mariners' Lake.  (Virginia)

**  In Alabama, a city debates how to depict its past in the present.  (Mobile)

**  Letters:  Loyalty to the state first during the Civil War.

**  Watch Now:  Crews remove Confederate  statue from Libby Hill Park and bronze pieces from Jefferson Davis  monument.   (Richmond, Va.  Altogether, five statues, two plaques and two other bronze pieces have been removed  from monuments in Richmond since July 1.  As predicted, the mayor and governor's orgy of removal has begun.

This is similar to what happened in Germany in the 1930s with Kristallnacht and book burning.  Who says history doesn't repeat itself?  Go to You Tube and watch videos of these in Germany in the 1930s and you'll be amazed at the similarities between BLM and those people.  We're not saying who did this.)

Bubba, Kentucky, Parades, California, Wilmington NC, Texas and Names

JUNE 27, 2020

**  Bubba Wallace says police  wouldn't target Confederate flag ban protesters.  (A joke.  But I just don't understand how all it takes is one black person to be offended to have something like the flag ban take place.  More BUBBACAR.)

**  As advocates call for Confederate memorial removal,  Calloway Co. judge-executive says there is no timeline for removal.  (Kentucky.  Advocates anxious.  Just call in the BLMers and their white minions.  That will take care of the timeline.)

**  Federal judge  affirms city's right right to bar Confederate flag from parade.  (Alpharetta, Ga.)

**  Mobile Co. plans to use a different confederate (Confederate) flag at Government Plaza.  (Alabama)

JUNE 25, 2020

**  Navy ship names could fall  under Pentagon's new diversity review.

**  Confederate flag ban at Marine Corps  opens up wider conversation on racism.

**  Man arrested at Confederate monument protest in Mobile.  (Alabama.  He was committing a hate crime during a demonstration on the base of the former Semmes statue and was arrested.  Hopefully to be charged with a hate crime.  I can't believe that someone was actually arrested for doing something like that to a Confederate statue.  I thought BLMers were allowed to deface with impunity.)

**  Huntsville officials urge county to break 'unjust' state law, remove Confederate statue.  (Alabama)

**  Walmart stops display of Mississippi flag in stores over Confederate emblem issue.

**  Petition to remove confederate statue  gain traction, spurs controversy.  (Texas.  Hey.  Confederate is capitalized.)

**  Elimination of racist symbols long overdue.

JUNE 24, 2020

**  Will the last Confederate statue standing turn out the lights?  (That about sums it up.  New York Times.  I had to chuckle through my tears at this one.)

**  Crews hit setback on bringing down Raleigh Confederate monument on Capitol grounds.  (North Carolina.  Aww!)

**  James Madison recommends dropping Confederate building names.  (James Madison University in Virginia.  Okay, what about the school name.  James Madison was dead by the time of the Civil War, but he owned you-know-what.)

**  County committee meets to discuss Confederate monument.  (El Dorado News-Times.)

Renaming Schools, Mobile, Birmingham, A Virginia Without a Lee? Semmes and Is It Vandalism or A Hate Crime?

JUNE 18, 2020

**  Maury High and two other Norfolk schools named for Confederates could be renamed.  (Virginia.  Again, if the majority of the students at these schools are Black, I'm all for it.)

**  Mobile mayor, descendants battle over monument's fate.

**  Watch:  Inciting  to riot charge against Germaine 'FunnyMaine' Johnson dropped.  (Birmingham, Ala.  Of course, in Birmingham there would be no way he'd be charged with that racist mayor of theirs.   I sure would have liked to have seen video of him doing what he was accused of doing.)

**  Can Richmond imagine a future without Robert E. Lee?  (Looks like they will find out about it.  There will also be nothing to do with the Confederacy in their future either.  Now the American Civil War Museum can be turned into the American Civil War Black Museum as their people desire.)

********************************

JUNE 19, 2020

**  Army should look to Navy for renaming bases.

**  Opinion:  Stop memorializing  the Confederacy and start owning Texas history.

**  Mayor says he removed the Semmes statue to keep it from being destroyed.  (And a big thanks to Mobile's mayor for doing that.  This needs to be done to every single Confederate monument in the United States.  This is the only way to keep the BLMers and their white minions from destroying them.  After all, the police just watch them doing their hate crimes to the statues.

I fully support removing them for "public safety."  I also support every state with the Confederate monument protection laws to have them waived for "public safety."

**  Confederate monument in Little Rock  vandalized with unknown chemical.  (As I said before, this is not "vandalism" but a Hate Crime.  I wish the media would quit calling it vandalism.)

The Confederacy Under Attack: Now the Clergy Jumps Aboard, Leesburg Va., Naval Academy, Dolly Parton, Mobile and More School Names

JUNE 17, 2020

**  Loudon clergy and faith leaders group calls for Leesburg's Confederate statue's removal.  (Surprisingly, a photo taken on May 31 did not show any hate crimes sprayed on it.  I guess next they should call for the town's name to be changed.  After all, LEE!!!

**  Loyola Blakefield, McDonough facing calls  to change names,  sever ties with racist past.  (US Naval Academy)

**  Petitions call for  all Tennessee Confederate monuments  to be replaced with statues of Dolly Parton.  (Wait a minute, isn't she a white person?  The monuments would have to be replaced with ones for black people.)

**  Who is the rightful owner of the Mobile  statue?

**  Who are Alexandria public schools named after?  (Three are in line to have names changed:  Robert E. Lee High School, T.C. Williams High School who opposed desegregation, and Matthew Maury Elementary School.  As I have said before, I am for renaming any school that has a majority of black students.)

Where Have All the Statues Gone?, Mobile's Fine, Renaming US Ships and the USNA

JUNE 17, 2020

**  Mobile to pay fine, move Confederate statue permanently.  ($25,000.  Alabama has a Confederate statue protective law.  However, now i would like to see that law dropped in cases of "public safety."  In short, it is tearing me apart seeing what those "people" are doing with impunity to those monuments.  They all need to be removed to places of safe-keeping, at least until such time as those committing the hate crimes against are held accountable and punished.  And we all know that is not going to happen.)

**  Where have statues of Confederates, and other historical  figures been removed?  (Real good question.  New Orleans still have their statues "sequestered" somewhere, probably never seeing the light of day again.  What about the others?)  Good article that gives an update on the situation with various statues.

**  Will two U.S. naval vessels need to be renamed?   (USS Chancellorsville  (CG-62) and USNS Maury (T-AGS-66))

**  As naval academy superintendent condemns racism, a mid's (midshipman) tweets presents a problem.     The academy has already removed a plaque outside Maury Hall depicting a Confederate flag and I'm sure they are in the process of renaming it.)

Renaming Would Be a Travesty, Army Bases, Confederate Flags, Mobile, Removal and Monuments

JUNE 16, 2020

**  Head of SC Confederate group  says debate to rename American military bases a 'travesty.'  (Though, I can go with this renaming.  After all, these men FOUGHT against the United States as it were.  However, renaming is going to be expensive and those costs should be borne by those who want the names changed.  No public money should be involved.)

**  New push to rename Army bases named after Confederate generals.

**  Ohio House rejects amendment prohibiting Confederate flag at county fairs.  (Ohio Democrats proposed it.  Big surprise.  The Republican majority voted it down.)

**  Alabama AG:  Mobile illegally removed Semmes monument, pays fine.  (Well, if Birmingham had to pay a fine, so should Mobile.  Only, the Mobile removal of the Semmes statue was not done in a fit of hatred like in Birmingham.  It was done for public safety since police evidently are not allowed to stop BLMers and their white minions from attacking the statues.  I am now in favor of removing every Confederate monument on public land and putting them somewhere safe from the lawless "protesters."

**  Bacon:  US military installations honoring Confederates must be renamed.  (Republican Representative from Nebraska.)

**  Bring them down.

**  Bastrop County judge:  Removing Confederate monuments  would be "counterproductive.'

**  A different kind of 'new normal.'

**  Alabama city's Confederate statue relocated to a museum.  (Mobile, Alabama, statue of Raphael Semmes to History Museum of Mobile.  The city did the right thing and removed it before BLM could deface it.)
