Are these UDC members the white supremacists who put up all those racist monuments BLM has warned us about? How about those Confederate veterans above them? Some mighty desperate and despicable folks if you ask me.

A Cost to Renaming Roads and Streets

From the February 18, 2022, Fairfax County Times (Virginia)  "Highway name changes in Fairfax County could come with hefty  price tag" by Sravan Gannavarapu.

In December the Confederate Names Task Force voted to rename the Lee Highway and Lee-Jackson Memorial Highway.

Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity said the cost for renaming these could come between $1-4 million due to significant fiscal impacts and customer impacts on businesses and residents.

And, then there is the cost of making new signs, taking the old ones down and putting up the new ones.

It was noted that recently  Wade Hampton Drive in Vienna had its name changed to Liberty  Lane.  As a result, each of the town's property owners  will receive $500 for out-of-pocket costs associated with the name change.

***********************

Personally, I would like to see name changes put up to a vote.  If the majority of the people want the name changed, then change it.  But, have the cost of changing the name go to those who voted to change it.

Confederadication: Confederate Statue Removal a Monumental Challenge. Flag, Highway, Virginia, The Unpunished Alabama Hate Crime.

JULY 18, 2021

**  Confederate monument removed from city hall in Louisiana. (Lafayette. The Gen. Mouton statue.

******************************

JULY 19, 2021

**  Removing Confederate statues remains a monumental challenge.  (Good play on words.)

**  Confederate flag absent from Olmsted  County Living History Fair.

**  Virginia county votes to rename Lee Highway for abolitionist.  (Now Langston Highway, after a black man.  Why do all renamed Confederate things have to be for Blacks?)

*******************************

JULY 20, 2021

**  Damaged Confederate statue monument deemed dangerous; City of Tuskegee urges action.  (Alabama.  Remember, the damage (which is nothing short of a hate crime) was done by an elected city official and there have been no charges against him yet.  Unbelievable.  Imagine if someone had done that to a MLK statue!)

At Least They Are Hearing Both Sides. Palatka, Perryville, Sculptor, Virginia. Do All Renamed Confederate Items Have To Be for Blacks?

JULY 15, 2021

**  Redmond councilors hear both sides on Confederate flag controversy at 4th of July parade.  (Oregon.  Well, at least they are hearing both sides.)

**  Proposed Putnam  ordinance that would protect Palatka Confederate statue  stirs ugly debate.  (Florida)

**  Confederate flag will remain a part of Perryville's city flag.  (Kentucky.  The Battle of Perryville took place here.)

**  Sculptor offers artistic clapback to Confederate monuments with chilling sculpture about black life.

**  Fairfax County  appoints task force  to review changing two  Confederate highway names.  (Virginia.  Well, will they or won't they?)

**  Vance High School officially renamed; other Confederate names to be changed in Charlotte. (North Carolina.  It will now be the Julius J. Chambers High School.  Again, Chambers is a worthy man, but why do all Confederate name changes have to be renamed for Blacks?)

**  Christiansburg approves tribute to African American history to be installed near Confederate  monument.  (Virginia.  Always room for another historical monument.)

Forrest, Virginia, Alabama Renaming, SPLC Strikes Again

JUNE 13, 2021

**  Body of Confederate general removed from Memphis park.  (Tennessee.  Gen. Forrest and his wife have now ben removed from danger's way.  Thankfully.  They will be reinterred at the National Museum of the Confederacy in Columbia, Tennessee.)

**  Virginia county planes to rename Lee Highway for abolitionist.  (And, of course, he is a black man.  All things must be renamed for Blacks.

**  Tuberville opposes renaming Fort Rucker--  'We're going to fight that.'  (Alabama)

************************************
JUNE 14, 2021

**  Hate watch group reviews Confederate  symbols at military colleges, including 3 at Naval Academy.  (The SPLC strikes again.  Only I would call them a hate group, not a hate watch group.  They hate all things Confederate.  Very racist of them.)

**  Joy Reid ripped  for claiming students 'learn a kind of Confederate Race  Theory':  'This is nonsense.'

SPLC Again, Southern Baptists, Chris Green, and Robert E. Lee

JUNE 12, 2021

**  Southern Poverty Law Center podcast dives into Stone Mountain Park's  future, Confederate imagery.  (Do you think they will be for or against the "Confederate imagery?"   Hey, SPLC, where is that list on the number of businesses looted, burned and destroyed during last years BLM riots?))

**  If we're rescinding Southern Baptist history, let's undo our link with the Confederacy.

**  Chris' journey:  One year after a Confederate statue hit Chris Green in Portsmouth, he fights his way back from a traumatic brain injury.  (He was there with rioters pulling down a Confederate statue and they pulled it down on him.  The riot was at the behest of a Virginia state senator and various NAACP people.  Should Green's family bring lawsuit against them and the other rioters who maimed him?)

****************************

JUNE 13, 2021

**  Confederate Robert E. Lee's racist legacy fuels renaming push.  (Aljazeera.  Arabic news channel.  Of course, that part of the world is noted for its love of all people.)

**  Virginia county plans to rename Robert E. Lee Highway  for abolitionist.  (Arlington County.    Renamed for John Langston, a black man.  Of course, all Confederate-named items must be renamed after black people.)

What Are They Going To Do When All the MLK Roads Need to Be Renamed? Once a Neo, Always a Neo.

MARCH 12, 2021

**  Texas distorts its past -- and Sam Houston's legacy --  to defend Confederate monuments.

**  Lots more road renaming needs to be done.  (What are they going to do when all those Martin Luther King Jr Roads will be needing renaming?   After all, he was not without certain faults that offend.  All this can go two ways, you know.)

**  Florida's Neo-Confederate Republicans intend to stifle voter  turnout.  (Love it when they use Neo, as in Neo-Nazi.  But, the funny thing is that BLM is actually more of a Neo-Nazi group, see Brown Shirts, than most anything else.)

**  NC community has mixed emotions about the move of Confederate monument to neighborhood.  (Chicord, N.C.)

**  Local officials weigh in on potential sites for Confederate marker.  (Bowling Green, Ky.)

States of Embarrassment. Come on, SPLC, How About That List of BLM 'Peaceful Demonstrations' That Led to Violence, Rioting, Looting and Burning (Not to Mention Hate Crimes)!!!

FEBRUARY 27, 2021

**  Ban on Confederate flag urged in Northampton schools.  (Massachusetts.   The black principal was shown holding a BLM sign.  Does that mean he supports rioting, burning, looting and hate crimes?)

**  Alabama ranks third in nation for number of Confederate symbols removed in 2020.  (That has to be embarrassing.  Again, the racist group SPLC has the numbers and says that  12 were removed.  In case you're wondering, Sad V. led the pack with 71 thanks to their sad gov and mayor.    N.C. was second with 24.  The states of embarrassment.)

**  HEY SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center).  We are still waiting for your list on BLM "peaceful demonstrations" that led to rioting, confrontation, looting, burning and hate crimes in 2020.  Come on guys, you know you can do it!!

**  Lawmakers vote to remove Confederate  name from highway.  (No surprise there.  Sad V.  Jefferson Davis Highway)

**  Confederate symbols removed from Georgia in 2020.  (Seven according to SPLC)

Will the Last Confederate Out of Sad R. Please Turn Out the Lights. Hey, BLM, Either Put Up or Shut Up in Palatka.

DECEMBER 22, 2020

**  Walker County commissioners  vote to keep Confederate monument at courthouse.  (Huntsville, Texas.   Wow, we won one, but for how long?  BLM's not going to like this and will demand to have final say.)

**  Parrott:  Keep John Mosby's name on Route 50 in Loudoun.  (Virginia)

******************************

DECEMBER 23, 2020

**  Rally planned over Putnam County Confederate statue removal.  (Florida.  Demanding it be relocated.  Commission has already voted 4-1 to remove it.  Impatient little cusses, ain't they?)

**  VA (Veterans Administration) has no plans to rename hospital that honors Confederate.  (Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond.  Will the last Confederate out of Sad R. please turn out the lights.  We can't get all things Confederate out of that town fast enough.  And, please take down the disgrace that you have allowed to take place at the Lee Statue.)

**  Decision to remove NCFL (North Central Florida) Confederate monument frustrates both sides.  (Palatka, Putnam County.  It has already been decided that the statue will be removed, but the stipulation that BLMers don't like is that those who want it removed must come up with $200,000 privately raised funds to do so.  Hey, you want it removed, YOU PAY FOR IT.  Cut and simple.

Like the one lady said, "Either ante up or shut up."   Agreed.

The Confederacy Under Attack: Mississippi, School, Trump, Fort Lee, Georgia, South Carolina and Oregon

**  Confederate president's name to disappear from Biloxi school.  (Mississippi)

**  Kaine:  Trump's threat to veto defense spending bill over Fort Lee renaming is 'a big bluff.'

**  Confederate monuments task force returns with recommendations.  (Augusta, Georgia.  No big surprise.  recommend moving two monuments from public to private property, removing all Richmond County signage and statues on Jefferson Davis Highway, change the name of John C. Calhoun Highway and change the name of Gordon Highway and Fort Gordon.  Kind of anti-Confederate recommendations I believe.)

************************************

DECEMBER 2, 2020

**  Beaufort will consider its monuments amid broad reckoning over Confederate memorials.  (South Carolina)

**  Pendleton reverses course on Confederate preservation.  (Oregon)

Even in Canada and Washington State. Come On Sad R, Take Down the Lee Statue

AUGUST 29, 2020

**  Protesters in Ridgefield, Vancouver,  rally in support of black lives.  (Canada.  Jefferson Davis Park has two markers for the Jefferson Davis Highway.  For Black Lives Matter and in honor of Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech.

**  Confederate statues would be removed from national parks in Gettysburg, elsewhere under Minn.  lawmaker's bill.  (U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum, D. Minnesota.  Imagine a Democrat doing something like this?)

**  Virginia Supreme Court gives Richmond green light  to remove city-owned  Confederate statues.  (There you go, Sad R.  Get that Lee statue down immediately.  You should be embarrassed at what you let BLM do to it.  Shows your class.  Since Sad Richmond is so gung-ho to remove all connection it has to the Confederacy, I am already crossing out the name of that city in all my books.

Last night, I was reading a book about the bread riots that took place in that city and just substituted the word "Sad" whenever the "R" word came up.  I doubt that I will ever go there again.)

**  Laura topples Confederate statue  after parish votes to keep it.  ((Lake Charles, Louisiana.  BLM extremely mad that they didn't get to do it.  But even Mother Nature seems to be against us.  A lot of Confederate markers in Wilmington, N.C. have recently been knocked down by hurricanes.)

**  By the way, congratulations to Wilmington, N.C., for becoming the country's first World War II Heritage City.

**  People hurl racist epithets at protesters outside Confederate  memorial in Clark County.  (Washington. The protesters here are BLMers and their white minions.   I see that BLM got a taste of language much like they give everyone else.  They didn't appreciate it.  Sorry guys.  At least none of their homes or businesses were looted and torched.  Sad to see defenders sinking to BLM level.)

**  Fact:  10 U.S. military bases named after Confederate generals.

**  Peaceful unity protest held in DeFunaik Springs.  (Florida)

It's a Road Thing Now As Well and, Finally Two Groups Willing to Stand Up Against This New Tyranny

February 26, 2020

** Magruder Boulevard, named after a Confederate general to be renamed  for Neil Armstrong.

**  Parts of Florida Highway honoring the Confederacy will be renamed in honor of Harriet Tubman.  How about renaming those parts Founding Fathers' Way or Greatest Generation?  Surely, they are deserving as well.

**  Confederate flags will be allowed at Arkansas cemetery despite protests.  (Probably just "one" person didn't like the Confederate flags.  But today, these "ones" sure have a lot of clout.  Governmental bodies bow to their every whim.

**  No commotion as county passes Confederate History Month measure.  (Texas--  Well if certain folks can have a History Month, others should also have a month to honor their ancestors as well.  Finally, a group of people with a backbone willing to stand up against the haters.)

**  Letter to Editor:  Letter writer misses mark on meaning of Confederate monuments.

Welcome to the Tyranny.  --Old Secesh
