**  Statue of Confederate leader removed from US Capitol.  (Virginia's Robert E. Lee statue.  Will be replaced by a black woman named Barbara Johns.  She is deserving of recognition.  But. why must all Confederate statues be replaced by black statues?  Is that the new law?    And guess what speaker of the house applauded this?

Hopefully Virginians will notice this is a move from their Democratic governor and all his Democratic legislators and will remember this when elections come up next year.)

**  Three years after Confederate statues removed, activists say the work isn't over.  (That was one real slick move Memphis pulled off to get rid of those statues and park names.  They should write a book on how to skirt the law and get away with it.  Again, I have to wonder how you get to be an activists.  Are you awakened one night by your fairy godmother who twangs you on the head with her magic wand and "Bingo, you're an activist?")

A Major Loss in Virginia: Will This Be a November 9-10, 1938 All Over Again?

We knew this was going to happen.  The Democratic lawmakers in Virginia promised they were going to do this.  And, they did.  Now, all it takes to become law is the signature of the state's Democratic governor.  He has already assured us that he will sign it.

The voting went along party lines, much as the voting in the impeachment trial went.  The bill was sponsored by a black senator which comes as no big surprise.  In the senate it passed 21-19.  In the house the bill was sponsored by a black delegate and passed 53-46.

Localities will be able to remove war memorials at their discretion.  And, of course, this means CONFEDERATE MONUMENTS.

If the Democratic party in Virginia is taking the path of removing history, much like those in Germany were in the 1930s, how can anyone support them?   It will be imperative that Virginia voters get rid of the Democratic majorities in both houses and the executive position in the upcoming elections.

I would imagine that the Confederate monuments will start coming down within days of the governor's signature on the bill.  And the glee with which one group and their minions will enjoy it will know no bounds.

I have voted for Democrats in the past, as a matter of fact, I probably have voted for Democrats more often than Republicans.  And, that would include Carole Mosely-Braun and Barack Obama for U.S. senator and Obama for president in his second term.  I also voted for Hillary Clinton in the last election.

At this point, because of what has happened in Virginia, I probably will be voting for Republicans in all offices in Illinois (since I can't vote in Virginia) other than president in this upcoming election.  And, if the Democrats find themselves unable to come up with a viable candidate for president, who knows.

**  UNC will not challenge the judge's order tossing out the Silent Sam settlement.  (OK, judge, when will you or someone in authority order the police to start arresting the UNC students and faculty responsible for tearing the statue down.  I would also like the judge to make a ruling on the legality of the UNC students and faculty for their tearing down the statue.  Is it legal to tear something down you don't like?)

UNC wants Silent Sam returned to campus, but hasn't said what they would do with it.  Obviously, the statue can't be put back up as the students and faculty will just commit hate crimes against it.

**  Judge voids UNC's controversial settlement over Confederate statue 'Silent Sam.'  (Unbelievable when contrasted with the lack of arrests and convictions for the people committing the hate crime when the statue was torn down.  Where's the justice?  Now the guilty people who are  so mad about the settlement are getting what they want.)

**  Virginia inches closer to bringing down Confederate statues.

**  Here's what Randall Woodfin had to say about Confederate monuments.  (Birmingham, Alabama, mayor.  He is a black man so doesn't like Confederate monuments.)

**  Photo of students with swastika and Confederate flag roils Riverside school. (Martin Luther King High School, California     I hate to see a swastika alongside a Confederate flag.  It is hard enough to fight this losing war as it is without being compared to that German group.)

**  Protest over confederate statue leads to woman being removed from meeting.  (Lake Mary, Florida--   Statue of Confederate General Kirby Smith which used to stand in the U.S. Capitol and has been removed and headed for the historical museum has people not wanting it there.  Protesters were carrying posters against the statue in a silent protest.  I am wondering what the protester did to be removed by police.  By the way, Fox 51, WOGX, Confederate is spelled with a capital "C."

**  Pair pleads not guilty in Confederate statue vandalism.  (Bentonville, Arkansas--   The two are White.  Again, doing this to a Confederate statue is not vandalism.  It is a hate crime.)
