More Monumentless Avenue Sightings, Virginai, Vermont, Kentucky, and Gettysburg, South Dakota,
JULY 3, 2020
** Supervisors to discuss Confederate statue. (Lunenburg County, Va. Guess what will be decided? Also, Farmville, Va. has removed their Confederate statue.)
** Richmond removes statue of Confederate officer Maury. (It was on Monumentless Avenue, a victim of the Confederate statue removal orgy. But, I have to say I am glad they are being removed because of what the BLMers and their folks did to the statues. And, there was a time that I thought what they did would be considered illegal and grounds for an arrest. But no more, I guess.)
** Yes, President Trump, Confederate base names celebrate heritage-- a shameful one. (Washington Post. Figures.)
** Officials delay decision on Kentucky Confederate statue. (Daviess County. A statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis was removed from the Capitol grounds on June 13.)
** Gettysburg, Penn. weighs in on Gettysburg, SD's reckoning with confederate symbols. (Confederate A George Floyd relative wants Confederate flag taken off the South Dakota town's insignia. Remember, all it takes is one black person to get things started.)
** Confederate battle flag would be banned at all DOD sites under House plan.
** After Confederate flag incident, Craftsbury residents look to officials to act. (Vermont. A BLM protest was going on and three people in a truck came by with a Confederate and a Don't Tread on Me flag. It was their protest. So, one side can have a protest, but the other can't.
Also, a BLM mural on a road was vandalized. I'm surprised this wasn't classified as a hate crime.)
