Whose Side Are the Washington Post, New York Times and CNN On?
JULY 7, 2020
** Trump adds to playbook by stoking white fear and resentment. (New York Times. Imagine this newspaper writing something like this.)
** Mississippi Republican senator: 'We don't want to celebrate' Confederate flag. (CNN. I bet CNN was very happy to get this man's view considering his political party.)
** Confederate monuments coming down in Virginia, but two prominent Lee statues remain. (The one in Richmond is still up because of a court injunction and then there is that one in Charlottesville. I am so shocked that Charlottesville would have removed their Lee statue the first day they were able to do so. I did like the comment that with so many statues down that Monument Avenue should get a new name. I propose "Monumentless Avenue" after the Ashe and art museum ones are removed.)
** White House refuses to denounce Confederate flag as Trump bemoans NASCAR's ban. (CNN. I don't think this news agency likes Donald Trump for some reason.)
(However, I am still looking forward to seeing NASCAR attendance when all fans can attend a race. That will be a telling moment.)
