Fort Mill, Mitch McConnell, Fort Bragg, Oldest City and New Names for the Bases
JUNE 21, 2020
** Town of Fort Mill on Confederate Park: We cannot legally rename the park or remove the statues. (South Carolina)
** Mitch McConnell says he is 'OK' with removing Confederate names from military bases, unlike Trump.
** Renaming Fort Bragg is personal in NC congressional race.
** While Confederate statues come down, other symbols targeted.
** In America's oldest city, a reckoning over Confederate past. (St. Augustine, Florida)
** Ten names of American heroes that should replace Army bases named after Confederates. (Since the bases will eventually be renamed, these are good names and none of them are of Blacks. I am not completely against black-named bases, but since all this current mess is because of them being offended, I don't want another slap in the face. Maybe change the name later after a cooling off period.)
** Albert Pike statue toppling hits home in Fort Smith.
