SEPTEMBER 11, 2020
** Trout Creek Fish Camp preps for arrival of Confederate monument. (Florida. Arrival of Loring monument from St. Augustine.)
** In Key West, there's a push to rename -- not tear down -- Confederate monument.
** Of course, there is the sunset celebration that takes place every night at Mallory Square which is named after Confederate Secretary of Navy Stephen Mallory. Will it become the Tubman or Douglass Square since most everything now will have to be named after Blacks?
** Third protest over Confederate monument and flag takes place in Albertville. (Alabama. Tensions were hot.)
** Fla removing Confederate monuments, symbols faster than almost any other state. (And they used the Been verified site, not that infamous list put out by the SPLC. Only California, Maryland and Oklahoma have removed more in recent years. Florida has removed 30% of its monuments, including 11 since Floyd's death and 57 still remain.)
