I wrote about this situation last month in a post where New Orleans was planning on renaming 37 places within the city. They plan to ban all names with Confederate, racial, white supremacist ties.
Here are some of the proposals.

WALKER STREET / Confederate general / Jasper Street Former slave
MOUTON STREET / Confederate general / Margaret Elizabeth Street Escaped enslavement.
LANE STREET / Confederate general / Georges Street Escaped enslavement.
BRAGG STREET / Confederate general / Celestin Street Escaped enslavement.
