** American electorate continues to favor leaving Confederate relics in place. (From Morning Consult by Cameron Easely. A poll taken. 51% of Americans say Confederate statues should remain standing. 30% say they should come down.
Republicans overwhelmingly say they should remain.
Democrats are less united., but a slim majority says they should come down.
By a 16-point margin, voters say the Pentagon should not rename the bases.
Voters are more likely to see the Confederate flag as a symbol of Southern pride (47%) than a symbol of racism (36%).
Interesting numbers. Of course, we saw in Virginia what happens when removal is put to a vote. Six places put it to a vote in November and all six times it was voted to retain the statues. I don't think the Democrats and Blacks will make that mistake again and have it put to a vote.
They know they'll lose.
