** Confederate's name removed from Navy survey ship. (USNS Maury, named for Confederate oceanographer pioneer Matthew Maury was renamed USS Marie Tharp. She was an oceanographer as well and, believe it or not, a white woman. Quite often all renamings are to Blacks.)

He is deserving of the honor, but, again, why do so many bases and things have to be renamed for Blacks? Then name change is expected to cost $1.4 million for this one. I say that those who want the name changed should have to pay for it themselves.)
